Chapter 11: Tyrant!

????BOOM!!

??A thunderous explosion shattered the glass doors of the Security Bureau.

??Dozens of Zombies howled as they surged into the building, their shrieks echoing off the walls.

??“Shit!”

??“Open fire! Shoot—now!”

??“Hold them back—ah!!”

??BANG! BANG! BANG!

??Gunshots, guttural snarls, and desperate screams collided, plunging the Bureau into utter chaos.

??“Damn it! They’re too fast!”

??“Switch to rifles! Aim for the head!”

??…

??In a heartbeat, the Security Bureau was consud by all-out battle.

??“How did this happen? Where did so many Zombies co from in the city?”

??Liu Qian clutched her pistol, crouched beneath her desk, trembling uncontrollably.

??She’d only been stationed in Ninghang City for a month.

??Two Anomaly incidents in rapid succession had already stretched the limits of her endurance, and now Zombies were attacking the Bureau itself?

??How could her luck be this cursed?

??“Liu Qian, we have to break through!” Bai Yu shouted above the gunfire, her tone cold and steady even as she fired shot after shot. “If that Investigation Bureau agent can’t hold off the big one, the whole Bureau will fall—we need to get out before that happens!”

??“But… how are we supposed to—”

??“Stick close to !”

??Bai Yu didn’t wait for a response. She seized Liu Qian’s arm, ready to drag her along by force if she had to.

??But at that mont—

??BOOM!!

??Huang Xin’s body crashed into the wall right in front of them, hitting with the force of a human cannonball.

??“That fast?!” Bai Yu’s heart dropped.

??She’d thought Huang Xin could at least buy them a few more minutes. Not even five had passed.

??“Cough—cough, cough! Sorry, sorry…” Huang Xin clutched his stomach, struggling to his feet, his face twisted in pain. “That bastard’s way tougher than I thought… I’m completely outmatched.”

??“Aren’t you supposed to be the ‘Cardmaster’?” Liu Qian blurted.

??“I am Cardmaster Huang! But that monster can punch through concrete! What am I supposed to do, being this scrawny?” Huang Xin wheezed, forcing out the words between ragged breaths.

??“So we’re finished?!” Liu Qian stared at the hulking, shadowed figure approaching, tears threatening to spill from her eyes.

??“Don’t panic!” Huang Xin forced himself upright, urgency sharpening his voice. “I already called Hongyou for backup! Just hold on until she arrives—we’ll be fine!”

??“There’s no ti! Run!”

??Bai Yu yanked Liu Qian’s hand and bolted.

??“Hey! Wait for —”

??THUD!

??Before Huang Xin could finish, the black-clad man kicked him hard, sending him skidding across the floor.

??He landed with a sickening thud and didn’t get up.

??With Huang Xin down, the man wasted no ti. He strode after Bai Yu and Liu Qian, each heavy footstep echoing through the chaos.

??“Bai Yu! He—he’s right behind us!!” Liu Qian looked over her shoulder and scread.

??“Then run faster!” Bai Yu sprinted, firing at the Zombies lunging into their path.

??She scanned the carnage, heart pounding. In just a few minutes, several officers had already fallen.

??Worse, those bitten by Zombies were mutating—transforming into new ones within monts.

??It wasn’t enough to survive. They had to avoid being bitten at all costs.

??Just as they reached the main doors, they skidded to a halt.

??A horde of Zombies blocked the exit, cutting off any hope of escape.

??“We’re dood… This is really the end!”

??Liu Qian’s legs buckled; she even forgot to reload her gun.

??The surrounding Zombies had already spotted them, closing in like starving wolves.

??Bai Yu raised her weapon and fired, shots ringing out in rapid succession.

??But there were too many. She couldn’t hold them all back alone.

??In a split second, a Zombie lunged at them—

??At that very instant, a surge of blazing golden fire erupted, engulfing the creature in a flash!

??ROOOAAAR!

??The Zombie was consud by holy fla, reduced to ash in seconds.

??Everyone froze, stunned by the sudden turn.

??Before anyone could process what had happened, the clang of heavy tal rang out. Then, a woman’s voice echoed through the chaos—sonorous and clear:

??“By the goddess’s fla, may your souls find rest…”

??With her incantation, radiant golden fire erupted again, igniting every Zombie nearby.

??In an instant,

??The Security Bureau was filled with the howls of burning undead—a scene straight out of judgnt day.

??“What the hell?!”

??All eyes snapped to the entrance.

??There she was again—the mysterious female knight. But this ti, a man stood at her side.

??He wore a whimsical sli mask, its expression shifting with every movent.

??Strapped to his right shoulder was a slender, scorpion-tail-like weapon—strange and nacing.

??The man strode into the lobby, his voice filtered through a voice modulator: “Everyone, evacuate the Security Bureau in an orderly fashion. Leave this to us.”

??For a heartbeat, the survivors just stared. Then, as if a spell had broken, they surged for the exit.

??“Are… are we saved?”

??“Everyone, get out—now!”

??“Hurry, evacuate! All of you!”

??“Thank you, thank you for saving us!”

??“Contact the other branches for backup! We can’t let the Zombie Virus spread through all of Ninghang City!”

??…

??Bai Xuan watched as Bai Yu and the others escaped to safety, then turned his gaze to the black-clad man still standing inside the Bureau. He murmured under his breath, “So that’s the Tyrant?”

??“I’ll handle him,” Serene said, gripping the Sword of No Light as she advanced toward the monster.

??“Be careful,” Bai Xuan cautioned.

??After all, this was an F

grade threat—a true powerhouse.

??Bai Xuan’s eyes flicked to the side. A few Zombies, too far from the holy flas, still lurked at the edge of the lobby.

??Looks like I’ll have to clean up.

??He stepped toward them. The Zombies caught his scent and charged like rabid dogs.

??But before they could close the distance, the device on Bai Xuan’s back sprang to life—

??In a blur, the scorpion-tail whip lashed out, striking like lightning and puncturing the skulls of several Zombies at once!

??Instant kill.

??“That guy… he’s incredible too!”

??While Bai Xuan dispatched the stragglers, Bai Yu and Liu Qian stood outside, tense, watching the chaos through the shattered doors.

??“Liu Qian, don’t you think… that weapon on his back looks a lot like that woman’s tail from before?” Bai Yu whispered.

??“Huh? Now that you ntion it, it does!” Liu Qian’s eyes widened, then she hesitated. “But, hers wasn’t nearly that thin, was it? Probably just a coincidence.”

??“Yeah, maybe… but—” Bai Yu rubbed her chin, a nagging suspicion tugging at her thoughts.

??“But what?”

??“It’s just… his silhouette feels awfully familiar…”

??“Really?” Liu Qian blinked, puzzled.

??As they whispered, Serene was already on the move. She leveled the Sword of No Light at the monster known as Tyrant and charged—

??Her blade flashed, slashing straight for its throat.
