"I’m not going. I’ve got this big belly to think about."

Evergrow Group was huge, so their annual eting was bound to be crowded. She was worried she’d get bumped or tripped, and sothing might happen.

"In that case, I’ll keep an eye on your husband for you. I won’t let any vixen lead him astray."

As the annual eting drew near, Lindsey learned from her senior colleagues that the company had a long-standing tradition.

Every year, one employee was chosen for a solo dance with the CEO.

Even if a male employee was chosen, the CEO would dance a full song with them, no awkwardness at all.

That’s why the annual employee ID drawing was even more exciting than winning the grand prize.

Evergrow Group’s prizes were nothing to scoff at, either. The grand prize was a three-million-yuan housing subsidy.

The prizes also included a car-buying subsidy, and even the lowest-tier prize was 10,000 in cash.

Evergrow Group was incredibly wealthy and generous, and all the prizes were practical necessities.

Because of this, everyone eagerly anticipated the annual eting.

Everyone hoped for a stroke of luck that could make their dreams of buying a car or a house co true in a single night.

Luna Axton gave a self-deprecating smile. ’She and Blaze Fairchild only had a marriage certificate because of a contract. What right did she have to care if he was being seduced?’

"Don’t worry about him. You just have fun."

Lindsey had put on such beautiful makeup; she deserved to relax and have a good ti, not waste her energy thinking about Blaze Fairchild.

After hanging up the video call, Luna Axton still hadn’t received the interview results from Concordia dical Hall.

She couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret. ’If only I hadn’t left so quickly yesterday.’

’If I had stayed to see how the other candidates perford, at least I’d have a better sense of where I stand.’

Seeing her daughter fiddling with so dry grass on the ground, Jenna Axton asked with concern, "Are you fighting with Blaze?"

Luna Axton looked up, puzzled. ’How could Mom have gotten that impression?’

’A man like Blaze Fairchild would never let himself lose out. Why would he ever fight with ?’

"No, I’m waiting for my interview results."

She wasn’t confident, truth be told. After all, Academician Theodore Frost knew she was pregnant.

’If they decide my pregnancy makes unsuitable, then it doesn’t matter how well the conversation with Academician Frost went; it’ll all be for nothing.’

Jenna Axton comforted her, "It’s just after five o’clock. The clinic is still busy. Wait and see around eight or nine tonight."

Luna Axton was startled for a mont.

’A clinic’s hours are different from a hospital’s inpatient departnt. How would Mom know that?’

’Could it be? Is Mom really the long-lost daughter of the Frost Family?’

Luna Axton’s suspicions about her mother’s identity flared up again.

Growing up, she’d always known she was different from the other kids. She didn’t have a father.

But she had always been sensible enough not to ask her mother about her biological father.

After learning from Assistant Frost that the poison her mother had taken was an aphrodisiac, she was even more afraid to ask, worried it would make her mother recall unpleasant past events.

But now, her mother knew the business hours of the Frost Family’s Concordia dical Hall.

She even knew when the doctors were busiest.

Luna Axton couldn’t help but suspect her mother had a connection to the Frost Family.

"Mom, how did you know there wouldn’t be news until eight or nine?"

The expression on Jenna Axton’s face froze. She had spoken casually, not expecting her daughter to catch her slip-up.

"It’s on Concordia dical Hall’s official website. Since you were going for an interview, I looked up their clinic’s information."

"Oh." Luna Axton was skeptical but didn’t dare press the issue, afraid of stirring up her mother’s painful mories.

Jenna Axton knew that Luna wasn’t truly convinced.

’Sooner or later, she’ll find out about her own identity.’

But she wouldn’t tell Luna unless she absolutely had to.

Attending the annual eting for the first ti, Joy Coleman was buzzing with excitent.

In the vast hall, a cheerful lody drowned out the hum of conversation.

With champagne and fine clothes, everyone was radiant, a far cry from their usual robotic work expressions.

"Ladies and gentlen, next up is the part I’ve been most excited about!"

The host on stage spoke, and everyone turned to look at him.

Soone in the crowd said, "It’s ti for the raffle."

The host asked with a laugh, "Aren’t you looking forward to dancing with the CEO?"

The crowd below erupted in laughter. "HAHAHA..."

The CEO belonged to everyone, but the grand prize was personal. The employees had their priorities straight.

"How about we first draw for the CEO’s dance partner, and then have the CEO himself draw for tonight’s final prize, the grand prize?" the host proposed.

"Okay," the employees below agreed.

"Okay, let’s get the employee IDs rolling on the big screen!"

The host’s voice was practically cracking with excitent.

"Everyone on the floor, count down from three and shout ’Stop!’ You might be the one to get the dance with the CEO! If you want it, count down loud with !"

"Three."

"Two~"

The crowd below was a sea of moving heads, all eyes fixed in anticipation on the employee ID numbers scrolling across the big screen.

"One!"

"Stop!"

The numbers on the big screen stopped rolling, and the banquet hall fell silent.

"20210596, who is it?" the host asked.

Everyone looked at the people around them. "It’s not , is it you? Is it you?"

Just as everyone was busy looking for the person, a hand holding a champagne glass was raised high in the crowd.

"It’s ."

Everyone’s heads turned towards the source of the voice.

"Oh, it’s her," soone said with regret.

"Who?"

"That woman from the PR departnt, the one who’s most obsessed with the CEO. She’s always calling him ’Ian’ in that... singsong voice."

"Ohhh, her. She must be over the moon!"

Bathed in the gazes of the crowd, Yvonne Rhodes swayed alluringly as she made her way to the stage.

She absolutely adored being the center of attention. Even her walk felt imbued with a special grace.

In her excitent, she nearly tripped walking up the steps, but thankfully the nearby sound technician steadied her.

’If I’d fallen, I wonder if I’d still get to dance with the CEO.’

Yvonne Rhodes’s face was flushed, and she was so excited she could barely speak coherently.

"Th-Thank you, everyone... This year... it’s finally my turn. I’m so excited. In the future, I’ll... I’ll keep working hard. Thank you, everyone."

The crowd looked on with disdain. ’She should spend more ti reading books. Her acceptance speech is so la.’

Joy Coleman had no interest in dancing or any of that. She liked money.

’If I could just win the grand prize,’ she thought, ’I could use the money for a down paynt on a house. That would be the life.’

She had enthusiastically shouted and participated in all the earlier raffle drawings.

When she realized she wasn’t winning anything, her enthusiasm waned, and she turned her full attention to the food and drinks.

’If I can’t win a prize, at least I can stuff my stomach. That’s a win in its own right.’

"Alright, I can see our colleague is very excited."

The host took back the floor and moved the proceedings along.

"And now, for the grand prize drawing! Please welco our CEO, Mr. Blaze Fairchild!"

Cheers erupted from the crowd. Who would be the lucky winner of the grand prize?
