May Ford really did have a good mory. Even after all the chaos just now, she could still rember the key point in Ethan’s words.

Ethan Frost was more cautious this ti. His gaze swept over Luna Axton, who was blowing on her porridge and eating it like a little chick pecking at rice.

’My little sister is so delicate. A single cough is enough to send Mom and Dad into a panic. I can’t let my words cause an "earthquake" for Lucky in her belly again.’

Ethan Frost made sure she wouldn’t choke again before he spoke.

"Last night, Ian was downstairs on the phone with her."

The anxiety in Luna Axton’s heart finally gave up the ghost.

’I’ve never felt like a thief caught in the act before in my life. Now I’m experiencing that tension and thrill.’

’This cousin of mine, Ethan Frost, is just too good at picking up on details and key points.’

May Ford grabbed Luna’s arm, her eyes wide with curiosity. "Was it really Blaze?"

Luna Axton braced herself and admitted, "Yes."

"You two... you..." May Ford was too shocked to speak.

She looked at her husband of thirty years across the table and t his aningful gaze. Distant mories surfaced.

When she and Mason were passionately in love, Mason had climbed the wall into her family’s ho just to bring her a pack of spicy cold-served beef.

Soone like her son, whose mind was solely focused on dicine, would surely never understand.

But she had been there before. She instantly understood Blaze Fairchild and Luna’s actions. "That makes sense."

A man and a woman in the throes of passion will always do things that others find ridiculous and nonsensical.

But that’s the sign of a blazing heart, a ti when it beats most fiercely!

Seeing the tips of Luna’s ears turn as red as boiled shrimp, May Ford decided to stop teasing her shy and bashful niece.

Her suspicious gaze turned to her son, Ethan Frost. "How did you know it was Ian?"

Ethan Frost’s eyes darted away. He lowered his head, sipped his porridge, and said nothing more.

She knew her son too well. His sudden silence definitely ant he was hiding sothing.

"Ethan Frost, where is the mouse?" May Ford asked directly.

"Taken care of," Ethan Frost replied, his expression placid.

"I’m calling your uncle and asking him to bring a cat back from Seventh Auntie’s place when he returns." May Ford took out her phone, ready to make the call.

Seeing his mother was serious, Ethan Frost had no choice but to confess everything. "I’m keeping it behind the flowerbed by the courtyard wall."

"Get rid of it for , do you hear ?" May Ford was more afraid of mice than anything in the world. The thought of one in the house made her unable to eat or sleep in peace.

When she had first gotten married, Mason Frost was also doing research.

She happened to find out that Mason’s hands had touched a mouse in the lab, and then he had co ho and touched her.

She forced Mason to soak his hands in alcohol for ten minutes before she would reluctantly let him touch her skin.

Mason felt that wasting such a precious night was not worth it, so he eventually gave up being a research supervisor and ran for the position of hospital director instead.

Mason Frost knew what his son was planning. He advised him from a professional standpoint, "After all, these aren’t standard lab-bred white mice. They carry bacteria. No matter how you handle them, they will interfere with your experintal data and results to so extent."

Ethan Frost had indeed thought of many purification thods last night, but none of them had satisfied him.

Since his father had put it that way, he had no choice but to give up on the idea of saving funds. "Okay, I understand."

’If I had known, I never should have gotten up to check on the noise at the door last night.’

’Not only did I get a faceful of PDA last night, but this morning I also lost the mouse I worked so hard to hide.’

Ethan Frost stabbed a stead dumpling with his chopsticks, ate it in one bite, and was filled with regret.

Once they had all finished talking, Luna Axton finally spoke up. "Auntie, where are my mom and dad?"

She hadn’t seen them since she woke up. It was just past eight now, what were they doing?

May Ford said, "Grandpa spoke with Seventh Uncle from the clan on the phone yesterday. Tomorrow is an auspicious day, so they’re preparing a ceremony for you. Grandpa took your mom and dad back to the village first thing this morning."

"Your ceremony of returning to the family has to be held in the ancestral hall. We also have to invite the clan elder who manages the family registry to record your information in it."

"You probably won’t see your mom and dad until this evening. The round trip to the village takes half a day."

"Tomorrow? That soon?" Luna Axton was slightly surprised. ’Grandpa’s efficiency is incredible.’

May Ford replied, "Yes. If we don’t hold the ceremony tomorrow, we’d have to wait until June. Your mom and dad might not have such a long vacation next ti, so we decided on tomorrow."

Luna Axton had no experience with this, but she knew that being formally accepted into the clan was a very serious and complicated affair.

’Mom, Dad, and Grandpa are all running around for this. I should also be prepared.’

"So, what do I need to do?"

"Luna, you don’t have to do anything," Mason Frost said, putting down his chopsticks.

In this matter, as a core mber of the family, he was in a better position to explain. He told Luna himself.

"The auspicious ti tomorrow is eleven in the morning. After the recognition ceremony, you’ll go from house to house to eat a dish, and it’s over after that."

Luna Axton’s mouth fell open in a daze. "Eat a dish at every house?"

’How much would I have to eat! And for how long!’

"It’s like this: after your grandpa goes back today, Seventh Uncle—you should call him Seventh Grand-uncle—will notify every household to prepare a special dish made with sincerity. After the ceremony, Seventh Grand-uncle will take you to visit each house so you can et all your relatives."

As a woman, May Ford better understood Luna’s concerns. She said:

"You don’t have to finish everything. Just take a bite at each house. It symbolizes receiving food from a hundred families, and in turn, their blessings. Each branch of the Frost Family clan shares a bit of their good fortune with you, to bless you with a smooth and healthy life."

"I understand now," Luna Axton said, nodding in comprehension.

’It ans there’s nothing for to do, but I’ll be troubling the entire Frost Family to arrange my clan acceptance ceremony.’

"Don’t worry, all of us are going tomorrow." May Ford thought about how this innocent and pure niece of hers must feel out of place after being suddenly brought into a strange environnt. "Today, your uncle and cousin are going to work. Your auntie will stay ho with you."

"Okay." ’I wanted to refuse. I know how busy Concordia dical Hall is.’

’But if I refused, I’d be here all alone, and I’d feel lonely and lost.’

After breakfast, May Ford and the household helper began to prepare for lunch and dinner.

That’s how it is when a large family lives together—the whole day is spent bustling about for als.

She took a book and her phone and sat down on the living room sofa to read.

When no one was paying attention, she switched her phone to silent and sent a ssage to Blaze Fairchild.

[Ethan saw you last night.]

[My uncle and aunt also know you ca to see last night.]

[So don’t co over tonight, okay?]

Luna Axton put down her phone and stared blankly at the book in front of her.

’If Blaze Fairchild cos again tonight, the whole family will definitely laugh at . I’m not that thick-skinned.’

’It’s best if he doesn’t co.’

’Although... I really want to see him.’

For example, right now, she was sitting here, and this life wasn’t much different from her life at Lakeside Manor.

She’d still sit in the living room after breakfast, reading a book or doing so writing.

But without Blaze here, she felt like sothing was missing and couldn’t concentrate on anything.

’Blaze said last night that he was going to take his grandpa out today. I wonder where they’ll go?’

"Luna, how’s the book?"

May Ford had been busy in the kitchen. When she turned to grab sothing, she happened to glance over and felt that Luna’s silhouette looked too lonely.
