It was only after their al that Blaze found out Luna would be going to stay with the Frost family.

That ant he would be separated from Luna for the entire May Day holiday.

A rare holiday was finally here, and he had been planning to take Luna out sowhere before Lucky was born.

Blaze was dead set against it, so much so that he didn’t say a single word on the drive back to Fairchild Estate.

Luna Axton and Jenna Axton, who were in the car with him, were all smiles. The distance between them and Blaze wasn’t just a matter of seating arrangents; they were in two completely different emotional worlds.

Luna was happy because her mother had returned to the Frost family.

During the al, her grandfather had also happily announced that he would ask the Frost family elders to pick an auspicious date to hold a formal ceremony acknowledging her mother’s return to the family.

This was her grandfather’s indirect way of showing that her parents’ relationship was now accepted and blessed by the family.

「Pinehurst Estate.」

Grandpa Fairchild knew his grandson and granddaughter-in-law had gone out on important business today.

Instead of taking his afternoon nap or feeding his fish after lunch, he simply waited in the living room.

Sure enough, his grandson returned, and he wasn’t alone.

After Julian Fairchild and Russell Frost exchanged pleasantries, Russell suddenly brought up how Julian had kept Jenna’s identity a secret from him.

"Mr. Fairchild, you knew who Jenna was all along! You really kept in the dark!"

Jenna tugged on his sleeve and explained.

"It wasn’t Mr. Fairchild’s fault. When I first moved into Crimson Hall, I begged him to keep my identity a secret. Even Luna figured it out on her own."

"That’s right, that’s right." Julian Fairchild quickly cleared his na. "It’s not that I wouldn’t tell you. I had already promised Jenna, and I intend to be an elder who keeps his word."

"In that case, I was wrong to bla you, Mr. Fairchild. My apologies," Russell Frost said.

The smile remained on Julian Fairchild’s face, masking his true thoughts.

Both n had been good friends with his son, Ian Fairchild. Seeing them doing so well was like getting a glimpse of the son who had beco a monk.

But after becoming a monk, his son had cut all ties with the family, and they hadn’t had any contact since.

Ian Fairchild had failed in his duties as a father to a young Blaze, completely consud by the grief of losing his wife.

’It was better to cut ties with a man who couldn’t pull himself together. No point in getting further entangled.’

’Letting go was for the best for everyone involved.’

’Now, seeing his grandson and granddaughter-in-law living well... that was more important than anything else.’

Russell Frost got to the point. "Mr. Fairchild, we ca for two reasons. First, to visit you. And second, we’d like to have Luna co stay with us for a while. After the May Day holiday, Jenna and I both have to go back to work in Kensing, so this is the only free ti we’ll have."

"Of course, that’s understandable," Julian Fairchild said, though he wondered what his grandson—who was usually inseparable from Luna—was thinking.

His gaze swept over Blaze’s sullen face. ’Just as I thought,’ he mused, ’he can’t bear to be apart from her.’

"Let’s be clear, though. Once the holiday is over, you have to bring Luna right back here. I won’t have Frost keeping her to study traditional Chinese dicine."

Luna’s intelligence and talent had been unanimously praised by the entire Frost family.

When the two families had dinner before the New Year, Frost had repeatedly sounded him out, wanting to take Luna on as his apprentice to study traditional Chinese dicine.

He had managed to deflect the topic back then, but now that the Frosts had officially claid Luna as one of their own...

As a grandfather, he was genuinely worried the Frosts would hijack his grandson’s happiness.

That’s why they had to agree beforehand: as soon as the holiday was over, she had to co back.

When it ca to this, Russell couldn’t make the call on his own and hesitated for a mont.

’Judging from what his father had implied at dinner, they wanted Luna to stay with them. She was in her third trister, and with a family full of doctors, it would be convenient to check her pulse every morning and evening and look after her.’

’Didn’t that an they wanted Luna to stay at the Frost ho until the baby was born?’

’And after the baby was born, they’d probably be itching for her to stay there for her postpartum recovery, too.’

’There was only one Luna, after all. They couldn’t just shuttle her back and forth between the two families.’

Seeing Russell’s prolonged silence, not only Julian Fairchild but Blaze too grew anxious.

He took Luna’s hand and squeezed it tightly, as if afraid she would run away.

Luna glanced at him and patted the back of his hand reassuringly.

But Julian Fairchild put his foot down. "If you can’t agree to that, then I’ll have to be the bad guy and not let Luna go ho with you at all."

"My Blaze finally found a wife, and I have to look out for my dear grandson’s interests."

For a mont, they were at a stalemate.

Luna looked at Grandpa Fairchild, then at her father, and made a promise. "Grandpa, don’t worry. I’ll be back as soon as the holiday is over. Everyone in the Frost family is very busy. If I stay there, they won’t have ti to look after anyway."

Julian Fairchild was pleasantly surprised. ’Look at that,’ he thought, ’Luna really does care about Blaze.’

"Grandpa believes you, Luna. You have to keep your word."

Luna’s eyes curved into a smile. "I will."

Hearing this, Julian Fairchild glanced at his grandson’s handso face and saw the faint hint of joy in his eyes.

Grandpa Fairchild grumbled to himself, ’This grandson of mine is secretly gloating over here!’

"Blaze, Luna, go pack so clothes. Don’t keep your Uncle Russell waiting too long."

Both Luna and Blaze understood the hint. Grandpa had other things he wanted to discuss with her parents.

Taking the hint, the two of them left the room.

Blaze held Luna’s hand, still unwilling to let go.
