475: Doing What One Can
Jiang Mo thought the benefit the system ntioned was just those 500 points, but in reality, there was more.
You Yi told them a secret, one that had caused him to be hunted to this point: "About half a year ago, I noticed sothing was wrong in the sect. So Junior Brothers and Sisters started acting strangely. I couldn't figure out why at the ti, so I instinctively avoided these people. After so ti, I discovered that even so elders in the sect, and even my master-uncles and master-aunts, began to act oddly."
"I suppose I'm rather unlucky, always encountering all sorts of situations, so I've developed extra caution about everything. When I noticed sothing wrong with my fellow sect mbers, I planned to tell my master. That day, at my master's place, I overheard a secret.
"Tan Xin from Buddha Sect—I know him, and you know him even better. I heard he had an incident years ago and has been recuperating at Buddha Sect ever since. He's their Buddha's Disciple, and Buddha Sect wouldn't easily abandon him, yet I heard my master instructing Elder Bai to send him away... Elder Bai is from our Tiandao Sect, while Tan Xin is Buddha Sect's Buddha's Disciple—it shouldn't be our business to handle him by any ans.
"That's when my suspicions deepened, and combined with my existing doubts, I didn't ntion the strange behavior of our sect mbers to my master. Privately, I was curious, so I asked so close Senior and Junior Brothers to help investigate, and eventually actually followed Elder Bai and saw Tan Xin..."
At this point, he finally paused, his face turning extrely grim, gritting his teeth as if finding it difficult to continue.
Jiang Mo and Yun Qingyue exchanged a glance, ultimately deciding to wait for him to speak rather than pressing further.
You Yi composed himself for a mont and then continued: "I saw him in an underground chamber, unconscious and unable to be awakened, but he... he was actually soaking in a pool of blood! A pool filled entirely with human blood. My Tiandao Sect claims to be of the righteous path, aspiring to be its leader, yet they committed such atrocities—killing for blood, harming fellow cultivators."
From their first eting, Jiang Mo had perceived that Tiandao Sect mbers were scheming, but regardless of their competitive ambitions, they were fundantally of the righteous path. In terms of righteousness, Tiandao Sect had never fallen short before, and their disciples' education apparently hadn't been lacking either, which was why You Yi couldn't accept that his elders, even his own master, would commit such acts.
His eyes were red, but clearly the story didn't end there: "I couldn't watch my master and the others continue down this erroneous path, so I planned to rescue Tan Xin. But before I could act, they took him away."
At this point, Jiang Mo finally couldn't help but ask: "Where was Tan Xin taken?"
You Yi pressed his lips together, then answered: "Mount Xuanyin."
Mount Xuanyin? How could it be Mount Xuanyin? Months ago, Nine Abyss Sect and Crimson Blood Sect had battled there. At that ti, not only were two demonic path sects fighting, but countless eyes were watching. What were Tiandao Sect people taking Tan Xin to Mount Xuanyin for?
Jiang Mo couldn't understand, and suddenly a flash of inspiration struck her mind, but unfortunately, she couldn't grasp it in ti.
Yun Qingyue's eyes flickered thoughtfully, but rather than making wild guesses, she asked directly: "Do you know why Tan Xin was taken to Mount Xuanyin? And when was he taken there?"
You Yi indeed knew sothing, his expression darkening: "The demon race has appeared in the cultivation world, as Xuanqing Sect has announced to all. But months before that, my master and the others..." He paused briefly before continuing, "My master and the others had already contacted the demon race, and Tan Xin was being delivered to them."
Jiang Mo was dumbfounded, and confused: "What's the purpose of stealing Tan Xin from Buddha Sect and handing him over to the demon race?"
Yun Qingyue pondered for a mont, then suddenly had a realization. She abruptly turned to look at Jiang Mo. When the latter t her gaze, her eyes still showed confusion and bewildernt, so Yun Qingyue raised her hand and pointed to the position of her own heart.
Jiang Mo wasn't stupid, and imdiately understood—the Seven Treasures Glass Heart had already been assimilated by Tan Xin. Tan Xin had sacrificed the Seven Treasures Glass Heart to reinforce the seal, which ant sacrificing his own heart. Afterward, Buddha Sect had attempted to reconstruct his heart, but failed due to his body's rejection, and the reason for this rejection was that his original heart might still have a connection to his body. By this logic, Tan Xin's body could influence the Seven Treasures Glass Heart within the suppression formation.
Suddenly, Jiang Mo and Yun Qingyue realized that Tiandao Sect had actually been playing a grand ga. With demonic patterns already throwing the cultivation world into chaos, if the sealing formation encountered problems as well, the world would face imminent destruction!
The hair on Jiang Mo's back stood on end, and she instinctively grabbed her senior sister's hand, seeking comfort.
Yun Qingyue's heart was also unsettled, but she managed to maintain outward calm, even patting Jiang Mo's back reassuringly. Then she turned to You Yi and asked again: "Just Mount Xuanyin, nowhere else?"
At this point, You Yi held nothing back: "It's at Mount Xuanyin. I heard them say they would accomplish their goal there."
As for what exactly that goal was and how they would achieve it, You Yi didn't know. His knowledge of the secret ended there, but it was already important enough—enough to make his forr elders and fellow sect mbers show him no rcy.

Compared to the demonic patterns currently rampant in the cultivation world, the sealing formation was naturally more crucial. At least the cultivation world had abundant talent, and they were already dedicating themselves to researching the demonic patterns. Before leaving Xuanqing Sect, Jiang Mo and Yun Qingyue had heard that so progress had been made. But if the sealing formation encountered problems and the demonic realm passageway reopened, the already severely damaged cultivation world would truly have no way out.
Yun Qingyue imdiately transmitted the news back to Xuanqing Sect. Whatever commotion this might cause aside, Tan Xin's situation couldn't be delayed even slightly.
Jiang Mo and Yun Qingyue exchanged a glance, both seeing the sa emotion in each other's eyes. In this single look, they tacitly reached a consensus, then turned to You Yi: "This matter is of utmost importance. We fear we can't wait for the sect's decision."
You Yi looked at the two, sowhat surprised yet finding it reasonable: "You want to go to Mount Xuanyin?"
Since he had been forthright, the two had no intention of concealing anything and nodded: "The secret at Mount Xuanyin is critically important and cannot be delayed. Xuanqing Sect is currently the focus of much attention; sending people would not only attract notice but also take too long. So we've decided to investigate Mount Xuanyin ourselves, hopefully rescuing Tan Xin in the process."
You Yi had only partial understanding of the situation, but based on what he knew, he didn't agree with their approach: "That's probably not advisable. Though I've never been to Mount Xuanyin, from the bits and pieces I've heard, it's considered the demon race's stronghold and must be fraught with danger."
To be blunt, although Jiang Mo and Yun Qingyue's cultivation levels were not low, given the demon race's current influence in the cultivation world, their attempt to infiltrate the enemy's stronghold was essentially like lambs entering a tiger's den.
He was offering well-intentioned advice, which Jiang Mo and Yun Qingyue both recognized. The two weren't actually confident either, but so things must be done regardless of confidence. No one understood the conspiracy beneath Mount Xuanyin better than they did, and no one knew the dangers better than they did, but no matter how dangerous, they had to attempt it.
Jiang Mo tightly held Yun Qingyue's hand, her face showing rare seriousness: "We must go on this journey. You're injured, and there's no need for you to risk yourself with us. Rather, take this opportunity to escape your pursuers and head to Xuanqing Sect, where you'll find protection."
You Yi smiled bitterly again, shaking his head: "No need. I'll accompany you."
Jiang Mo and Yun Qingyue were surprised, firstly because they hadn't considered having You Yi join them, and secondly because his cultivation level wasn't sufficient to be of much help. But before they could politely decline, You Yi suddenly raised his hand, showing them his wound—a thin layer of black energy enveloped the fresh wound, clearly indicating demonic energy had entered his body.
Jiang Mo and Yun Qingyue had seen such injuries many tis in recent days, and their first reaction was to quickly take him to soak in the Lightning Pool. But then they realized that they were tens of thousands of miles from Xuanqing Sect; even at their speed, it would take a month to fly there, let alone You Yi. By the ti they got him back to Xuanqing Sect and into the Lightning Pool, the demonic energy would have long penetrated to his bones.
Seeing the rapidly changing expressions on their faces, You Yi guessed they were trying to find a way to save him. He lowered his hand, letting his wide sleeve cover the wound: "Please don't trouble yourselves. I've been hunted by my fellow sect mbers for over two months, with countless wounds all over my body. I was infected from the very first injury."
In other words, demonic energy had already reached his bones long ago, and the only reason he hadn't fallen to demonic influence was due to his strong ntal fortitude.
For such injuries, Jiang Mo and Yun Qingyue had no redy, and even if they did, his future was already uncertain with the demonic energy contamination. You Yi didn't want to think too much about it; he just wanted to do his best now, to atone for Tiandao Sect's sins and do sothing for the cultivation world... If Jiang Mo and Yun Qingyue weren't going to Mount Xuanyin, he had actually planned to go take a look himself.
Jiang Mo and Yun Qingyue could see his resolve and found themselves at a loss for words.
Seeing their prolonged silence, You Yi thought they were hesitant. He suddenly opened his Mountain River Fan and smiled nonchalantly: "Don't worry about
suddenly falling to demonic influence; I can still control myself. If I ever lose control, I'll end my own life."
