20: The White Ape's Discovery

The warm sunlight shone into the classroom, where Yuyin was sitting by the window, studying diligently.

The banner for the Source Martial College Entrance Exam countdown had been changed to 50 days.

Before she was reborn, she was only in her second year of high school. Although the curriculum in her original world was obviously much more demanding, having essentially covered all the third-year material in her second year and dedicating the entire third year to preparing for the college entrance exam, she was still a few months behind. Yuyin had to work even harder to catch up.

On Monday, she had been called to the office. However, a large group of teachers, including the dean of students, had surrounded her. Far from criticizing her, they expressed concern for her well-being, asking if she was injured and telling her not to be afraid, assuring her that the school would deal with Zhang Biaoyang and Chen Yan severely. But one female teacher also quietly reminded Yuyin that she should still be careful herself.

That Zhang Biaoyang was reportedly hospitalized. A few days later, the school announced a major derit for Chen Yan, but Zhang Biaoyang received only a formal criticism. It seed the school had characterized the incident as Chen Yan being the instigator, with Zhang Biaoyang acting impulsively only because he had been egged on. Yuyin didn't question it. Without thinking, she knew the school had its own difficulties. Giving him a formal criticism was probably the best explanation they could offer to her, the Student Council President, and all her fans in the school.

“Friday is the physical fitness test. Everyone, rember to wear your sportswear,” said Teacher Xie, their horoom teacher, who was dressed in a professional blazer and skirt. She was in her early thirties and had just gotten married; she had the charm of a mature, yet still young, female teacher.

“The Primordial Energy test, the physical fitness assessnt, and the cultural exam are the three great hurdles of the Source Martial College Entrance Exam. Although Primordial Energy is the most important, physical fitness and cultural studies cannot be neglected. Please prepare well and take the Friday test seriously,” Teacher Xie added.

The physical fitness test. Yuyin felt she should have no problem. Her physical fitness was so good now, but… sportswear… Yingluo had taken hers to wash last ti and hadn't brought it back. She was out of money now. After scrimping and saving, she only had a little over 300 yuan left, not nearly enough to buy a new set.

“President.” After class, Yingluo walked over to Yuyin's desk. “I'll bring your sportswear over on Friday morning.”

“Oh… thank you.” With that, Yuyin was relieved.

But for so reason, the sportswear had been in the wash for so long? Yuyin didn't ask. It was already very kind of Yingluo to offer to wash it for her.

Her cultivation in the God-Devouring Chess had progressed smoothly these past few days, and Yuyin's Primordial Energy value had already broken through eighty. She returned ho as usual, still in her school uniform and miniskirt. She wasn't wearing stockings today, and her long, snow-white legs were on full display.

When she opened the door, perhaps because she had been a girl for so ti now, Yuyin's sixth sense had also beco sharper. She seed to feel a scorching gaze on her legs and couldn't help but look back. The dim and cluttered hallway held nothing.

It must have been her imagination. Yuyin walked into her room and locked the door behind her.

These days, her Ancient Temple Leg Technique had beco more refined. She wondered if she could develop a weapon-based martial art for primary combat.

But she had no clear direction, so she entered the God-Devouring Chess to observe Xiao Yuan leading the chess pieces on their patrol.

However, monsters that wielded weapons were rare to begin with, and those proficient in a specific blade were even rarer. So far, Yuyin had only encountered the Precept-Breaking Green Monk, but he had already been killed. She had Xiao Yuan explore deeper into the territory.

That night, Yuyin's consciousness remained within the God-Devouring Chess, as it seed she had to witness battles herself to discover techniques.

During this ti, a good thing happened. One squad of Night Patrol Little Ghosts had been promoted to two-star!

Upon reaching two-star, they beca five "Night Patrol Middle Ghosts." Their bodies had grown larger, and their weapons also seed heavier and broader.

Until the middle of the night, although they had killed a few monsters along the way, they hadn't discovered any techniques.

“Ding. Your White Ape seems to have made a discovery.” At that mont, the ancient female will sounded.

The White Ape? Yuyin had almost forgotten they existed.

She sensed the White Apes' location and found they had returned to the starting point.

Yuyin's consciousness also flew back to the starting point. By now, there were two elegant tents in the starting point, one large and one small, for Xiao Yuan and the dicine Maiden to rest in.

Yuyin saw that on the southernmost edge of the starting point, on a large, flat stone, lay sothing that was glowing.

It was a crystal-clear fruit resting on a large leaf, exuding a faint, pogranate-purple sheen. Several White Apes were dancing around the fruit.

Yuyin focused on the fruit and saw a line of seal script text appear above it.

“Jade Body Ice Fruit. Consuming it strengthens the body. For females only. Males must not consu.”

Although it was in classical Chinese, she could basically understand it. It ant eating it was good for the body, right? Only suitable for won to eat? What would happen if a man ate it? That was unknown.

The lead White Ape picked up the leaf and, holding it with the fruit high, as if to offer it to Yuyin, while the other monkeys knelt down one after another.

Did this an she was supposed to eat it?

Just looking at it, Yuyin felt the fruit exuding a strange allure.

In reality, Yuyin couldn't help but feel her heart flutter.

She wanted it…

She wanted to eat it…

So, she should eat it.

With a thought from Yuyin, the fruit flew into the air, transforming into streams of light, like pogranate-purple crystals, and flew toward her.

“Mmm…”

She had never eaten sothing that made her body feel so comfortable. An indescribable sense of pleasure, a sweet taste, flowed throughout her entire body.

Yuyin felt her body filled with an unprecedented vitality. Although her skin was still as delicate, fair, and soft as ever, she felt her strength increasing at an incredible rate.

Moreover, this enhancent was a direct improvent to her physical body itself, not to the Primordial Energy within her. Yet, it could complent and mutually enhance her Primordial Energy.

Yuyin's impression of the White Apes changed dramatically. They were a bit lecherous, but if you looked closely, these apes were actually quite decent.

That night, Yuyin slept very soundly. Her body, in her sleep, continued to slowly improve, thanks to the lingering effects of the fruit…

The next day, during class, Yuyin would occasionally sneak peeks at the God-Devouring Chess, hoping to find a weapon-based technique. She did have a discovery.

There was an Ox Ghost, grayish-white all over, wearing scale armor that shimred with a star-like green light and wielding a giant axe. It was extrely fierce. Xiao Yuan and her group were having trouble fighting it.

“Discovered the Ox Ghost's ancient technique, Axe of the Icy Hell. Do you wish to begin recording?”

Yuyin pondered for a mont and then shook her head. Such a heavy giant axe didn't seem suitable for her. Besides, Xiao Yuan and the others were barely holding on. It wasn't worth getting wiped out for a technique that wasn't right for her.

So, Yuyin had Xiao Yuan and the others retreat.

It seed this weapon-based technique would still take so ti to find.
