"How cruel!" Sellene stomped her feet in anger. "How could he do that?! He killed a cat and a human! Better at playing emotions?! Although so people are a bit manipulative, they aren’t that malicious. They don’t aim to kill!"

Cail cleared his throat. He’s probably not as despicable as Virehn, right? He had a cat, Blackie. He never hard any animals... But he murdered humans... But they weren’t that good either!

Then Cail suddenly slapped his helt to Sellene’s shock.

"Why am I comparing myself to this scum?" Cail felt that he got carried away. It wasn’t really denial, but more like a feeling of competition.

Sellene was side-eyeing him, but they continued to listen and the recording was still ongoing.

[That is when I realized that this guy is dangerous for humanity.

I recorded evidence and sent them to my superiors. They ignored it. I think they probably noticed that sothing was wrong with Virehn, but since he is a genius, they didn’t take any action.

Since then, I had been against him. Warning people about him. But alas, Virehn was right about one thing. He is better at manipulating people’s emotions. I beca a jealous one, I beca the crazy researcher. They called heretic since I would be the first to disagree with Virehn’s proposals.

Virehn didn’t think much of . I got a feeling that he thinks of as so kind of bug.

Virehn was a demon, that’s for sure.

I continued my role as an antagonist. Then Virehn proposed the project Coreline. The sa as before, I protested against it. Although I had no idea what his plans were, I’m sure he was up to no good.

I thought he would ignore like always, but this ti, you should have seen the crazy look on his face when I opened my door to his knock.

Before I could even react, I fainted.

I woke up strapped on the dissection table. It reminded of the cat...

I saw Virehn sitting on a chair beside . He was smiling. It was a cold and empty smile. He wasn’t wearing his mask anymore.

I scread, "Remove the restraints! Don’t think that the higher-ups will not notice going missing!"

Virehn just shrugged, "They gave you to ." He was opening his equipnt box, taking out a sharp scalpel from the inside. "I said, I will give them the project Coreline, as long as they gave you to ."

Holding the sharp knife up, it glead from Virehn’s hand. I felt that the light was blinding. Virehn looked at as if I were pathetic, "Your life is worth less than the project you are so opposed to."]

Sellene heard the project Coreline again. She felt that it sounded familiar. Then she rembered, "I think I had seen the project Coreline on my father’s records!"

"So what was it all about?" Cail had been hearing this a lot. Although he had so information like it was about to revolutionize the use of void energy more efficiently, that was it.

"I haven’t heard much. But father said that if it fell into anyone’s hands, they would rule the world." Sellene was clueless about its use, but her father probably knew.

Cail nodded. Yeah, but the side effect is getting eaten by the void. He wondered what those higher-ups at the otherworld were thinking. Cail knew that they probably had a plan.

That Coreline seed to be their goal. Now they looked like sharks that slled blood, chasing after him like crazy. Cail knew that the probability of them killing him rather than using him is larger. Nope.

They continued listening.

[I was in and out of consciousness. Virehn did sothing to my body. I had no idea what it was. But he left a radio in my room. I could hear what was happening outside... the city getting eaten by the void and people protesting about Virehn. Just as I thought it would be the end of it, Virehn ca to my room.

"You seem to be a bit cheerful today." His voice still calm despite the recent assassination attempt.

I couldn’t speak, but my eyes were looking at him gloatingly. Virehn once again wore his signature smile. "You look happy huh? Well, you should be!" Then he grabbed my jaw to make look straight at his face. "You are the number one contributor to my next plan! Your body, your fate won’t be the sa as theirs... You’re the person who dares contradict openly all these years. You’re my favorite."

After that, I don’t know what’s going on with my body, but he kept feeding strange things.

He let people sign contracts. Even if there are a lot who are skeptical about his thods, he was holding their lifeline. They couldn’t survive inside the void without him.

I kept listening to the news, until it was all silent.

I felt that I was the only one left in this world. Not until the door opened with a bored-looking Virehn...

GOD! TAKE THIS DEVIL AWAY.]

Then the recording was cut off. Sellene was a bit shocked. She never thought that the handso kid that she saw on the album would grow up like this.

She looked at Cail, "One really shouldn’t judge people by their looks. Your aura is gloomy, but you’re a good guy." Then she pouted, "The Tyrant is also handso and he is insane. Should I avoid handso guys?"

Cail accepted the good guy card and the slander that he is ugly. He digested the information that he gathered, and just as he was about to say sothing, his eyes caught a void energy walking toward them from the dark underground hole.

"Sothing is coming." He hid behind Sellene. Once again not feeling embarrassed. He respects gender equality. Since she’s the powerful one, she should be the one facing that.

Sellene looked at the hole. Although she couldn’t sense anything, her sharp hearing caught very faint footsteps.

Feeling that this is sothing straight out of a horror movie, she gulped and proposed, "Why don’t we get out of here."

That thought crossed his mind, but... "A big chance your dad will find us."

That idea made Sellene instantly change her mind. "I’ll kill this!" Nothing will make her change her mind and face her father. Heck, he would drag her back and let her be betrothed to that bastard.

Finally, what was coming out was a deford abomination.

Instead of being scared, one look at it and you would feel pity.

One look at it, your thoughts would be—

This monster looks like trial and error.

It had an elongated head. Cail could see the veins from it. Half of its legs were deford like a slug and its face looked like it was lted then the person who reconstructed it back sowhat forgot what a human looked like.

But what made the monster look even more pathetic was the huge natag hanging on its neck. It was as if the person who turned him into an abomination couldn’t wait to introduce him to the public.

The na was—
