Cail had no idea what was going on after he left, but he did encounter another trouble on the way.
It was fortunate that the gashes in his body had stopped bleeding. Although they were still open and painful, at least Cail wasn't on the brink of death because of blood loss. Once again, he marveled at the transformation the body could do after becoming a void energy user.
While he was driving dead in the night in the middle of the highway, he noticed sothing in the corner. The mont he saw what it was, he scread inside 'Not again!' before deciding to ignore what seed like a dead body in the middle of the road.
He pretended not to see it. Although his wounds were no longer bleeding, it didn't an that his body was 100% healed. He was still very weak, and a mont of carelessness would probably wreck him.
But alas, Cail was probably cursed the mont he received the box. The 'dead body' suddenly moved. It crawled in the middle of the road so fast that you could feel the desperation of it.
Cail wanted to avert, but his body's reaction was slower than normal. His tires ran over the body and Cail fell to the ground together with his motorcycle.
"Fuck, I don't want to commit any more murder, but why is this one proactively wanting to be killed!" He groaned in pain as the fall aggravated his wounds.
He quickly stood up and pulled his motorcycle up. He didn't bother to check the body and was planning to walk away when he heard a pleading voice. "Please, help ... Please, take with you. I'm begging you!"
It was filled with raw hopelessness, fear, and desperation. Cail had heard countless pleas before, but not this low.
His curiosity got piqued. The curiosity that landed him in a ssy situation. He kicked the stand of his motorcycle and walked toward the crawling man.
The man had his face turned to the side and his cheek pressed on the highway road. He was wearing a tattered green T-shirt and brown pants. It was tattered to the point that beggars' clothes were better than that.
He had multiple scabs and fresh wounds all over his body. It reminded Cail of the word "tortured" because the crisscross wounds on the man's back seed to have co from a whip.
Cail wanted to see the man's face, so he grabbed the man by the hair and stared at the face.
It was a good-looking face, the type that Cail would want to use as a rag on the ground. But his ill intent subsided a bit, since this man was in such a pathetic position. But one thing stood out about him aside from his face, and that was that this man was a void user.
"A runaway criminal? I should contact the police." Of course, Cail wouldn't, but nothing was stopping him from ssing with such an unfortunate guy.
"They're after ! Please take away! I'm not a criminal!" The man had a hard ti forming a sentence. Sothing seed to be off about his jaw.
Cail shook his head, "No can do." He was still wearing his helt, but him tilting his head seed to have a hint of mischief. "I think you're a criminal. I should just leave you here. You even caused to almost have an accident."
The man felt like he should just kill himself, but thinking about his family, he had no choice but to grovel on the ground and beg for survival.
"N-no, they are coming after !" the man said. "We need to leave here! Take with you! If you won't take with you, I'll tell them that you are my accomplice! They are no ordinary people! They will hunt you to the ends of the earth." With no other choice, he had to resort to threats.
Cail looked around; his eyeglasses were still on. He couldn't see anything or any approaching void aura. But in the direction the man kept looking, it seed like if the pursuer was coming that way, they would first pass by Jael's house. And right now, Cail was sure that Jael's house had a lot of void users.
He kind of had a gist as to what happened.
Still, he didn't say anything to the man. He walked back to his motorcycle and jumped on it. He turned on the starter and gripped the accelerator.
The man had a bad feeling. He couldn't help but ask, "What are you doing?!"
Cail looked at him and said, as if it were a matter of fact, "Of course, I'll run over you this ti for real." The motorcycle engine sounded. "If I take you out myself, then there's no way you can slander as an accomplice."
The man's eyes widened, "W-what?"
His threat would probably work if the person he was talking to was an ordinary person, but not Cail. His brain circuits were sohow different from others to the point that even he couldn't understand what was going on inside his mind.
An ordinary person would have a bit of caution about the situation, but Cail wanted to straight up murder.
It was a line of thought that the man hadn't considered. Was he already this unlucky that the man he randomly stopped was a psychopath?
When he saw the tire almost reaching his head, he scread, "Wait! Wait! Wait!"
Cail gripped the brakes; the tire was almost on the man's head. He grinned inside his helt, "I guess I have a bit of goodness in ."
He looked down at the man who was looking at him like he was a demon. "I can save you. But you need to tell what's going on." Then Cail's voice turned cold. "Want to use like a hapless lamb? For soone in such a situation, your attitude isn't humble enough."
"If you're that desperate, give everything that you have. I'm not so sucker. If you want to help you..."
Cail tapped the seat. "You better be ready to pay with your soul."
"So what is it that you desire? Is it just to escape? Or maybe you can be a bit ambitious. How about trying to change your fate?"
Cail thought, "That man that I chatted with before was a sham. Maybe this guy is a real custor that I need."
What he did just now was his sales pitch. It was good right? This man will probably buy!
One thing that Cail was very good at was taking advantage of soone when they were down.
