Chapter 900: Chapter 290 Old Tang: Hurry up and start arguing!

Lawyer Tang spent roughly twenty minutes making his way to the Temple Street Office.

It was still that familiar courtyard; if things continued this way, it would start feeling like ho.

Finally, soone dared to stand firm, drenched in sweat from head to toe in this bitter cold!

While others shiver from the cold, his whole body trembled with heat.

It was too thrilling; he had made many preparations for this mont, having spent a great deal of effort studying state compensation in his previous life.

If they now refuse to compensate, then let’s have a thorough discussion.

As for public opinion, he would not usually resort to it before the issue was resolved, but it was undeniable that public opinion was the sharpest knife in his arsenal!

With fervent determination, Lawyer Tang arrived at the Temple Street Office to collect the decision on the refusal to compensate.

Inside the office, Old Hu frequently glanced towards the doorway; this had really beco an unfortunate burden for him, a matter he should not have to deal with.

That day, a single extra remark landed him in this ss.

There was no help for it; the current director was reaching retirent age, soon to retire, and there were rumors that Director Fang was likely to take over; hence when Old Hu saw Director Fang arguing with others that day, he stepped in to help.

After a short wait, there was Lawyer Tang, as usual, walking in with his briefcase, and Old Hu hurriedly went out to greet him.

“Lawyer Tang has arrived, it’s too cold outside, co in and sit for a while…”

Lawyer Tang remained calm, “No need to sit, just give the decision on the refusal to compensate, and I’ll be on my way.”

He wouldn’t bla it on Fang Jingwen’s absence, sticking to his principle: his goal was to resolve the issue, not to confront individuals.

Upon hearing his request, Old Hu maintained his smile and said, “Lawyer Tang, let explain, refusal to compensate doesn’t an we don’t want to pay, but we really can’t get it approved.”

“Not only our Street Office, but the Urban Managent Bureau and the District Urban Appearance Managent Office were involved in the joint enforcent. Even if compensation is due, it should be shared by all three parties.”

“Moreover, the amount is a bit too much… you know what I an, Lawyer Tang, it truly cannot be approved. Our funds are budgeted, each penny accounted for…”

Old Hu explained sincerely, he really had no reason to lie.

While he spoke, the decision on the refusal to compensate was handed over. Lawyer Tang listened while flipping through it; the main reason stated was the second point Old Hu had ntioned.

It involved the collaboration of three different offices in the enforcent, and due to uncertainties in whether the administrative action was unlawful at the ti, they refused to compensate.

Old Hu’s intention was to suggest that Lawyer Tang could go to court and sue all three parties quickly, whether for a ruling or diation, either would be fine.

Once there was a court judgnt, it would be easy to handle on their side.

This had beco a common practice among many units, not that they couldn’t make decisions themselves, but whoever made the decision would have to take the bla.

A unit is a collective, but within it, there are individuals.

Rather than taking the heat internally, it was better to let the other party sue. Whatever a court decided, they would follow without further question.

Lawyer Tang fell silent, this was different from what he had expected!

Before coming, he thought that the Temple Street Office intended to be defiant, and he would have to use legal asures to debate with them. But the reason turned out to be this!

After issuing a decision of non-compensation and being sued, the Office might lose face but, at the very least, would not be blad.

After a mont of silence, Lawyer Tang took the decision on the refusal to compensate and left.

He wasn’t too troubled; although the other party seed sincere, actions speak louder than words.

At the very least, the decision clearly denied any wrongdoing in the administrative action.

Since they were intent on going to court, then let’s go to court; they would have a good talk in front of a judge.

In recent years, there has been reform in courts across the country, and many first-instance administrative cases have been allocated to the Railway Transport Court.

The Railway Transport Court used to be an internal court within the railway system, that’s right, the railway system used to have its own judiciary, and with the progress of reforms, its significance was not taken lightly.

Assigning the Railway Transport Court to handle first-instance administrative cases was because local interference often plagues administrative cases, a challenge not so easily countered by rely invoking the principle of independent judiciary.

Unfortunately, there is no Railway Transport Court in Tianyan City, so the only option is to sue at the Anping District Court.

Previously, for an administrative case, since the defendant was the Anping District governnt, the first-instance jurisdiction would be the Interdiate Court.

So, to be fair, this was Lawyer Tang’s first visit to the Anping District Court.

As was usual, he surveyed the exterior. Tianyan City might be small, but the district courthouse seed much more lavish compared to the Guangming District Court in Jingzhou.

Looking at the office building, it emanated dominance!

He took out his mobile phone to snap a photo, ready to mock Old Zhou later and urge him to renovate the old court which had been around for so many years.

After taking the photo and moving past security with his briefcase, he began to queue up.

Perhaps administrative cases were indeed rare in this place, as after scanning his ID card, he found out that there was no need to queue for administrative litigation at all.

It was apparent that the staff at the window, who had been reading a book before noticing the queue, was sowhat incredulous.
