Elias smiled at the woman who was worried about him. He just slipped his hands into the pocket of his hoodie as he shook his head.

"I’m fine. I just need... sleeping pills and pain relievers," he said, his voice strained. "Sothing strong. For... oga stuff."

The woman nodded, no judgnt in her expression. She grabbed a few boxes from the shelf, ringing them up quickly.

"These should help," she said, sliding them across the counter. "Be careful out there, okay? It’s late, and this area’s not the safest."

Elias nodded, his hands shaking as he paid. "Thanks. Uh... is there a safer way back to the hotel? The big one near the health centre?"

The woman scribbled a quick map on a piece of paper, describing a route through better-lit streets.

"Stick to this path," she said. "Avoid the side roads. They’re too quiet this ti of night."

Elias thanked her again, tucking the pills into his pocket and heading out. The route she’d described was longer but safer, winding through residential streets with flickering streetlights. His heat was worsening, his vision blurring slightly, but he pushed forward, determined to get back to his room.

As he turned a corner, he froze, his eyes landing on a figure slumped on the floor, barely visible in the dim light. The man was shirtless, wearing only bright red boxers, his body curled in on itself.

Elias’s first instinct was to keep walking... perverts weren’t uncommon on these streets, and he was in no state to deal with trouble. But sothing about the man’s posture, the way he was clutching his side, stopped him. He took a cautious step closer, his heart pounding, and saw the glint of a knife handle protruding from the man’s abdon, blood staining the ground beneath him.

Elias flinched, stumbling back, but the man’s hand shot out, grabbing his wrist with surprising strength.

"Help... ," the man whispered, his voice weak but desperate, his eyes glassy with pain.

Elias’s breath caught, his mind racing. He wanted to run, to leave this stranger and get back to the safety of his room, but the man’s grip tightened, pleading.

"Please..." he rasped.

Elias cursed under his breath, his conscience winning out.

"Fine," he muttered, kneeling beside the man. He recognised the designer boxers....expensive, flashy, not sothing you’d see on a random street.

"Can you walk?" he asked, his voice sharp with urgency.

The man nodded weakly, his face pale.

"Think so," he gasped, struggling to his feet with Elias’s help. Blood dripped from the wound, and Elias winced, knowing he couldn’t leave the knife in much longer without risking more damage. But pulling it out here could be worse.

"We need to get you to my hotel," Elias said, his voice trembling. "It’s not far."

To avoid drawing attention, Elias pulled off his hoodie, draping it over the man’s shoulders. It was too small, barely covering the blood-stained boxers, but it was better than nothing. The man leaned heavily on Elias, his steps unsteady as they shuffled through the streets. Elias’s heat made every step agony, his body screaming for rest, but he gritted his teeth, focusing on getting them both to safety.

By the ti they reached the hotel, Elias was exhausted, his hoodie now stained with the man’s blood. He grumbled to himself as he helped the man into his room, easing him onto the bed.

"I liked this hoodie," he muttered, tossing it onto a chair.

The man, still conscious despite the pain, managed a weak laugh.

"Don’t worry," he said, his voice strained. "I’ll buy you a thousand of those."

Elias glared at him, his patience thin.

"How are you even alive with a knife in your stomach? Who are you?"

The man grinned, though it was more of a grimace.

"I’m... Nathan. And I’m tougher than I look." He coughed, wincing as the movent jostled the knife. "You’re a lifesaver, you know that?"

Elias rolled his eyes, crossing his arms.

"Yeah, well, you’re bleeding all over my bed. I should call the police."

Nathan’s eyes widened, his voice urgent. "No, no, don’t. Please. I don’t want this getting out. The dia would have a field day."

Elias frowned, his irritation growing.

"I don’t care about your dia problems. You’re hurt, and my bed’s ruined. You owe ."

Nathan laughed again, the sound weak but genuine.

"Why isn’t my charm working on you?" he asked, his tone teasing despite the pain.

Elias raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.

"Charm? What charm?"

Nathan grinned, shifting slightly and wincing.

"Co on," he said, his voice dropping into a smooth, almost seductive tone. "My charm. It helps get anyone I want, usually." He reached for Elias’s hand, his fingers brushing against his wrist. "You’re different, though. I like that."

Elias yanked his hand away, his face flushing... not from Nathan’s words, but from the heat pulsing through him.

"I’m definitely calling the police on you, pervert," he snapped, stepping back. "You’re bleeding out, and you’re trying to flirt?"

Nathan chuckled, his head lolling back against the pillow.

"Worth a shot," he mumbled, his voice fading. His eyes fluttered, and Elias’s heart raced, realising Nathan was slipping out of consciousness again.

"Hey, stay awake!" Elias said, shaking Nathan’s shoulder. He grabbed his phone, his fingers hovering over the ergency number, but Nathan’s earlier plea echoed in his mind.

’No police.’ Elias groaned, torn between his instincts and Nathan’s insistence. His heat was making it hard to think straight, and the sight of Nathan’s blood-soaked boxers wasn’t helping. He grabbed the pain relievers he’d bought, popping one into his mouth to dull his own discomfort, and rummaged through his bag for anything he could use as a bandage.

"I don’t have anything for this," he muttered, his frustration mounting.

Nathan’s eyes opened slightly, his voice a whisper.

"You’re... a good guy. Thanks for... not leaving ."

Elias glared at him, but his expression softened.

"Don’t thank yet. You’re not out of this." He glanced at the knife, his stomach churning. He knew he couldn’t leave it in much longer, but he wasn’t a doctor. His phone buzzed again... another call from Dr Patel... but he ignored it, his focus on Nathan.
