"Why?"

"Because I want to survive."

To survivea simple reason.

In the attic of the agency, Bai Liang and Xu Yaowen sat facing each other.

Outside the window, the wind howled, the sunset gradually descended, and the red clouds and building shadows were clearly visible. Xu Yaowen's heart, too, wavered between light and darkness.

He wasn't sure if he was making the right choice, but after much thought, this was the only way he could think of to survive.

Xu Yaowen was indeed a sycophant, but his brain hadn't completely shut down, and his IQ hadn't dropped to the point where he would attack soone he shouldn't provoke.

He had reached this point not solely due to his older brother's help. Advanced items and nurous guides could only assist; what truly saved him was his flexible mind.

At noon, he had seen Bai Liang, and in that mont, Xu Yaowen understood a great deal.

This man was definitely not soone to be trifled with. If they ended up in the sa dungeon instance, and he didn't co to an agreent with him, he could be killed at any mont.

That's why he ca and decided to be frank with Bai Liang.

"Actually, you could have hidden in the shadows and then attacked at a crucial mont. That way, you would have gotten rid of , your competitor, wouldn't you?"

Bai Liang looked at him with profound aning.

Xu Yaowen was silent for a mont, then shook his head: "I thought about it, but given the previous information, I have no chance. No matter what I did, you would have killed ."

Bai Liang's infinite resurrection already made him invincible.

Plus, who knew how many other abilities he possessed. Xu Yaowen clearly understood that trying to kill Bai Liang was like building castles in the air.

Moreover, this man was soone even his elder brother was afraid to touch. And his brother was at the pinnacle of players in the world of anomalies.

It wasn't hard to guess what would happen if he tried anything.

"Are you so sure I'll let you go?"

Bai Liang played with the lighter he had taken from Toni. The fla danced on his fingers, and that flickering light made Xu Yaowen's heart clench.

"I'm... not sure, but we have no conflict of interest, and we haven't had any disagreents before this."

He gathered his courage and continued: "If you let go, I can provide you with all the information about this dungeon, as well as about the thing I'm looking for."

Now, he could forget about that thing; the main thing was to survive.

"My talents weren't given to for nothing; even if I lose everything, I can get it back." Xu Yaowen firmly believed that staying alive was the most important thing; everything else could be discarded.

Click!

The lighter snapped shut, and Bai Liang clenched it in his hand. A faint smile appeared on his face: "You're right, we truly have no conflict of interest. I accept your offer."

"Now, can you tell everything you know about this dungeon, and what is this thing you're looking for?"

After thinking, Bai Liang decided to give him a chance.

Not because Xu Yaowen's words dispelled his doubts, but because there was no need for them to be dispelled.

Firstly, they really had no disagreents. Secondly, the information was worth more than his life.

Hearing Bai Liang's words, Xu Yaowen finally relaxed. His fingers trembled slightly with excitent.

He had survived; his choice was correct!

Taking a deep breath, Xu Yaowen began: "Bai Liang, can I call you that?"

"Yes, as you wish." Bai Liang nodded. He didn't care what he was called, as long as it didn't sound too strange.

It seed this guy wasn't as terrifying as people said. Xu Yaowen relaxed a little and continued: "Bai Liang, you know that I'm a mber of the Arnold Guild, and my brother is a high-ranking mber of the guild."

"He once cleared this dungeon and discovered a pattern."

"He noticed that many incidents occur in this dungeon, but there will only be nine murders. A silver item will be found at each cri scene."

Saying this, Xu Yaowen took out a silver bracelet and placed it before Bai Liang: "Here it is."

Bai Liang took the bracelet and examined it carefully. It was cold to the touch, and strange patterns were engraved on its surface, too complex to discern what exactly they depicted.

"I found this silver item today. My brother believes that if you collect all nine items, you can find the answer to achieving an SSS-rank clearance in this dungeon!" explained Xu Yaowen.

The answer to an SSS-rank clearance?

Bai Liang discreetly put away the silver item. Xu Yaowen remained calm; this was the agreed-upon price.

"Anything else?" asked Bai Liang.

Xu Yaowen clasped his hands on the table, interlocking his fingers: "There's also that thing my brother ntioned. It's supposed to be an eye. If you collect all nine silver items, you can find this eye and rge with it."

An eye?

"Are you talking about the red eye?" Bai Liang raised an eyebrow. He suddenly recalled Will's red eye that had appeared today.

That eye was truly unusual. Most likely, it was the mysterious creature Will's forr girlfriend wrote about in the letter.

Now, Xu Yaowen also ntioned it. It seed this eye was indeed special. It could rge not only with anomalies but also with players.

For this reason, Xu Yaowen even decided to enter this low-level dungeon.

"Yes, it's the red eye," replied Xu Yaowen, then suddenly asked, "Bai Liang, have you seen it?"

"But that's strange. According to the information, it's supposed to separate from an anomaly and then possess a player, slowly corroding them."

In the information he received, the red eye was extrely dangerous.

The only way to deal with it was to collect all nine silver items.

Bai Liang clearly hadn't collected them yet, so how did he deal with the red eye?

He probably just hadn't encountered it...

"That thing just blew itself up," Bai Liang said, a little annoyed. He had wanted to study the eye, but it had simply exploded.

Blew itself up?

Xu Yaowen was almost confused. This didn't match the information he had received. Wasn't this eye supposed to attack players?

If they had encountered it, a fierce battle should have ensued, but it just exploded?

"Is that all?" Bai Liang frowned, feeling that this wasn't all the information.

Xu Yaowen thought for a mont, then exclaid: "One more thing! Each silver item has an anomaly guarding it. Trying to take an item will be dangerous. I used one item to get this bracelet."

Bai Liang pondered: "Do you have the addresses of all nine cri scenes?"

Xu Yaowen nodded, but then asked: "Bai Liang, can I go with you? Don't worry, I have many items; I definitely won't be a hindrance."

No sooner had he finished speaking than he saw Bai Liang's eyes light up.

Xu Yaowen felt his heart lurch!

"You... have many items?"
