【Pig Brain Overload】: When any creature sees the player, their intelligence is forcibly reset to zero.

The notification for a new skill acquisition echoed in Bai Lian’s mind.

As the sound faded, he froze montarily in confusion.

Pig Brain Overload? When an enemy sees , their intelligence drops to zero? Is this an intellect-reduction debuff?

“Well, you got what you wished for. Your 20 Luck Points really worked,” Bai Lian muttered, eyeing Facai suspiciously. He strongly doubted this wasn’t a side effect of the groundhog’s stat boosts.

Back in earlier dungeons, he’d fantasized about acquiring an intellect-reduction skill—and now here it was!

Of course, it might just be his absurd luck at play.

But that didn’t matter. What mattered was that with this skill, he could now wreak havoc unchecked!

“Wait… ‘reset intelligence to zero’? Does that an they turn stupid?” Bai Lian pondered, deciding to test it on the nearest subject.

He imdiately chose Facai but noticed no changes.

Either the skill didn’t affect his pet, or Facai’s intellect was already in the negatives, making further reduction pointless…

Facai stared at Bai Lian with what passed for a “wise” expression. Bai Lian’s lip twitched. He was leaning toward the latter explanation.

“Fine, later. Need to gather intel first.” Dismissing his rodent, Bai Lian turned to search the room.

A desk lamp glowed in the far corner, illuminating a pen and a black notebook.

Bai Lian approached, picked up the notebook, and flipped it open. Inside were crooked, cryptic symbols and sketches of unrecognizable creatures.

How to decipher this? It’s not any language I know!

Suddenly, the strange device on his right eye flickered with code, translating the text into familiar characters.

Real-ti translation? Bai Lian exhaled in relief. At least written language wouldn’t be a barrier.

He began scanning the translated entries:

「Today’s experint failed again. Specin #53 incompatible with serum. All prior calculations voided. Must start from scratch…」

「Lab #49 reports accelerated progress. Results imminent.」

「Lab #26: Specin escaped into ventilation shafts. Surveillance systems lost track. Proceed with caution…」

「Specin #68 exhibited abnormal reactions. Serum effects halted mid-process. Experint deed failure…」

「Storage capacity insufficient for growing specin count. Requesting additional containers…」

「Elevator malfunctioned again. Repair crews found no cause. It self-corrected shortly after…」

「Staff mber vanished after entering elevator. Surveillance shows him exiting, but external caras captured nothing…」

「Strange occurrences escalated since Specin #26’s disappearance…」

「Elevator halted mid-shaft today. Doors opened to darkness. Instinct warned against exiting…」

「BREAKTHROUGH! Specin #91 reacted normally to serum. Usable results achieved! HAHAHA!」

“Specins… labs… reactions…” Bai Lian muttered. The building clearly housed so form of biological research.

These “specins” were test subjects fused with chemicals to create new entities. Nurous labs operated here, so reporting successes—and escaped specins now threatened the facility.

The mission requires collecting biological data. Probably from these specins. But where?

He glanced at Facai. Would clipping his fur count as “biological material”?

Squeak!

Noticing Bai Lian’s scheming gaze, Facai narrowed his eyes and scurried behind a lamp.

“Ahem. Priorities.” Bai Lian turned to the door and stepped into the hallway.

A door nearby creaked open. A white-coated researcher erged, locking eyes with Bai Lian.

Minutes Earlier

Ji Yunfeng exited his escape pod.

Instead of searching the room, he opened his chat interface and ssaged a pinned contact:

【Ji Yunfeng (Evil Spirit)】: Captain, I’m in the sa dungeon as him—Genetic Tower. His pod landed near mine.”

【Xia Dongjie (Legend)】: Perfect. Pity we wasted an S-tier item on a rookie. Don’t fail . Kill him.”

【Ji Yunfeng (Evil Spirit)】: Doubting ? Even playing fair, I’ll crush him.”

【Xia Dongjie (Legend)】: Don’t get cocky. You think he’ll keep clearing dungeons with SSS ratings? Fail, and you’re dead to the association.”

【Xia Dongjie (Legend)】: Use the items only as last resorts. Stay in contact. Eyes are watching—no mistakes.”

【Ji Yunfeng (Evil Spirit)】: Copy. I’ll wait for him outside.”

Ji Yunfeng stepped into the hallway just as Bai Lian erged. Their eyes t.

【Ji Yunfeng (Evil Spirit)】: Captain—visual confird!”

【Xia Dongjie (Legend)】: Good. Act natural. Don’t alert him.”

【Ji Yunfeng (Evil Spirit)】: Why wait? If I destroy his escape pod and mine, his mission fails. I’m moving now!”

【Xia Dongjie (Legend)】: ???”
