Vivian Quinn froze.

She had indeed lost a year of her mory, from age eighteen to nineteen.

The Quinn Family had told her she’d suffered a major illness that damaged her brain, which was why she’d lost her mories.

But from the way Rachel Quinn was talking now, it wasn’t that simple.

Rachel Quinn watched her reaction, growing even more smug. "Vivian Quinn, did you think all I did was steal your parents and Austin? You really underestimate ."

"I cast you into Hell long ago, you just didn’t know it. You can’t afford the consequences of crossing !"

Vivian Quinn gathered her thoughts and said, "Just say what you an. Don’t beat around the bush."

"Have you ever played cat and mouse?" Rachel Quinn let out a soft laugh. "That’s the ga I’m playing with you right now. I’m the cat, and you’re the mouse. You’re completely under my control. I’m the one who decides when you die."

Just as Vivian Quinn was about to speak, a familiar figure suddenly approached.

Rachel Quinn imdiately wiped the hatred from her face, replacing it with a pitiful, fragile expression. She said softly, "Austin, you’re here?"

When Austin Grant saw Vivian Quinn, his face filled with disgust. "Did you bring Rachel here? What are you planning to do to her!"

Rachel Quinn said pitifully, "Vivian ca to see ... to warn not to provoke her again..."

Austin Grant’s expression grew even colder. "Vivian Quinn, wasn’t last night’s fiasco enough for you? What else are you planning to do to Rachel? I can’t believe you’d be so vicious as to conspire with Gordon Aldridget to drug Rachel!"

"Let tell you, Corvus Capital has already vanished from Aethelgard. Anyone who dares to hurt my Rachel will die!"

Vivian Quinn clapped her hands. "Master Grant, what incredible power you have, making Corvus Capital disappear overnight. But isn’t this the kind of thing that’s a pyrrhic victory—hurting the enemy a thousand to lose eight hundred yourself?"

"That’s why when my man offered to take care of Corvus Capital for , I flatly refused. I wanted to let you dogs fight it out amongst yourselves. I have to say, you really didn’t disappoint."

Austin Grant’s face changed drastically. "Vivian Quinn, you set up!"

"I just learned from your dear fiancée. She sches against so often, I was bound to pick up a few things. A taste of her own dicine, you could say. So today, you can call Vivian Morgan."

Vivian Quinn left the rooftop and went to Joy Chase’s hospital room.

"Sis, what took you so long?" Joy Chase was waiting anxiously. "Quick, co over. I’m going to celebrate your belated birthday with you."

Vivian Quinn walked over. "I brought you a really delicious cake, too."

"Thanks, Sis." Joy Chase asked worriedly, "What were you doing yesterday? Why didn’t you even co for your birthday?"

"Yesterday, sothing more important than my birthday ca up. By the ti I was done, it was already very late, and visiting hours at the hospital were over, so I couldn’t co see you."

"As long as you’re safe, that’s all that matters. I was just worried sothing might have happened to you."

"Don’t worry, I’ll be fine."

"Then hurry up, make a wish and blow out the candles."

"Okay."

Joy Chase had prepared a large cake to celebrate Vivian Quinn’s birthday. She cut a slice and had the rest taken to the nurses’ station.

Just as she stood up, she suddenly felt a little dizzy.

"Sis, what’s wrong?!" Joy Chase asked anxiously.

"It’s nothing, I probably just stood up too fast." Vivian Quinn sat back down and had the caregiver take the cake.

She thought back, but she didn’t think Rachel Quinn had taken the opportunity to do sothing to her just now.

Besides, she had often felt a chill in her abdon these past few days.

To be on the safe side, Vivian Quinn went to get a check-up.

The doctor looked at the report and said, "It’s nothing serious. You’ve previously taken dication to delay your period, which caused a hormonal imbalance. That’s why you’re experiencing symptoms like a cold abdon and dizziness. Just get so proper rest and don’t take any more unprescribed dication."

Vivian Quinn frowned. "Doctor, I’ve never taken any dication to delay my period."

"There are still traces of the drug in your blood, which ans you were taking it for a while—at least for over a week continuously."

Vivian Quinn froze. A thought quickly connected in her mind, and she asked, "If soone took this drug, could it produce signs of a false pregnancy? For example, would a pregnancy test show a positive result?"

"How did you know?"

The color drained from Vivian Quinn’s face.

The doctor reassured her, "You don’t need to worry. This drug doesn’t have major side effects and won’t have a significant impact on your body. If you took it by mistake, just be more careful from now on."

Vivian Quinn didn’t know how she managed to walk out of the hospital. All she knew was that when she got out of the taxi, her head was still ringing.

She walked into the villa and was stunned to see a beautiful woman sitting in the living room.

The woman looked to be in her early forties. She wore an exquisite qipao, exuding a noble and elegant aura. Her features and figure were both outstanding, and at first glance, she bore a slight resemblance to Jett Sterling.

Vivian Quinn had a vague idea of who she was.

"Madam, you’re back?" A maid ca forward to greet her and explained, "This is the Master’s mother."

’So it really is Jett Sterling’s mother!’

Vivian Quinn hurried forward. After a mont of deliberation on how to address her, she nodded in greeting. "Mother, hello. I’m Vivian Quinn."

The beautiful woman glanced at her and dismissed the maids. "All of you, leave us."

"Yes, ma’am." The maids quickly withdrew.

"Let introduce myself. My na is Wendy Reeves," the woman said coolly. "Have a seat."

"Thank you, Mother." Vivian Quinn sat down.

’This is my first ti eting my mother-in-law.’ She couldn’t help but feel a little nervous.

The next second, however, she heard Wendy Reeves say, "Miss Quinn, I’m afraid I can’t accept you calling ’Mother’."

"I had no idea you married my son. If I had known beforehand, I would not have allowed it."

Vivian Quinn’s fingertips trembled, but she spoke without being either deferential or arrogant. "Mrs. Sterling, Jett and I may have gotten married in a hurry, but we registered our marriage while we were both sober and willing. We can both take responsibility for our own marriage."

"That remains to be seen." Wendy Reeves took a sip of hot tea from an exquisite, elegant teacup and smiled faintly. "As his mother, I naturally can’t interfere too much with whom Jett chooses to be his wife. But I am the one who decides what kind of woman the Sterling Family will accept as its Young Madam."

"On my way here, I had you thoroughly investigated. And after arriving, I confird it. You used a fake pregnancy to trick Jett into marrying you. What right does a woman with such deep-seated sches have to be the Young Madam of the Sterling Family!" Wendy Reeves took a docunt out of her crocodile leather bag and placed it in front of her. "Sign it, and I’ll give you ten million."

The two words—"Divorce Agreent"—were glaringly conspicuous.

Vivian Quinn had long anticipated that her marriage to Jett Sterling would face many obstacles, but she never expected the first one would co from his mother.

She also never thought that the cliché soap opera plot of "I’ll give you ten million to leave my son" would actually happen to her.

Wendy Reeves placed a pen on the divorce agreent and urged, "Miss Quinn, if you please."
