"Let’s talk outside."

Shirley Wentworth closed the door behind her and asked anxiously, "What are the results? The previous one was a mistake, right?"

The doctor spoke with reluctance. "Miss Wentworth, I’m sorry, but the results are the sa. You and the young master have no biological relationship."

"Impossible!" Shirley Wentworth’s face went pale. "I carried him for ten months! I almost died from complications during childbirth, and now you’re telling he has no blood relation to ?"

"Miss Wentworth, a DNA test doesn’t lie."

"Absolutely impossible!" A sudden realization struck Shirley Wentworth, and a murderous glint flashed in her eyes. "Tell , who sent you to ruin !"

The doctor was stunned. "Miss Wentworth, why would I try to ruin you?"

"If you weren’t trying to ruin , you wouldn’t be saying this!" Shirley Wentworth fud. "How dare you cross ! Don’t you know who I am?"

"Miss Wentworth, what are you talking about? We’re working together. I was hoping to make so money by curing the young master’s illness," the doctor explained helplessly. "I know this reality is hard for you to accept, which is why you think I’m lying. Why don’t you go sowhere else and get another DNA test? That would prove my innocence."

Shirley Wentworth’s fingertips trembled. She imdiately turned, went back inside, and left with Elle in her arms.

By evening, after much running around, the second DNA report was finally ready. As Shirley Wentworth stared at the results, the world spun, and she started to fall backward.

"Miss Shirley!" Lawrence rushed to catch her. "Are you alright?"

"How can this be..." Shirley Wentworth whispered in disbelief. "It’s impossible. Absolutely impossible!"

"Miss Shirley, one of the staff mbers here is a relative of mine. She wouldn’t lie. The young master really isn’t your son."

"Then where is my son!" Shirley Wentworth demanded, losing control. "Where is my and Jett’s son, huh?"

Lawrence looked anxious. "Miss Shirley, the young master looks so much like Master Sterling, and he even has the Sterling Family’s hereditary disease. He must be Master Sterling’s son."

"Elle is Jett’s son, but he isn’t mine? What does that even an?" Shirley Wentworth’s mind was a complete ss.

"Miss Shirley, based on the situation, it seems the young master is the son of Master Sterling and another woman. But for so reason, he ended up with you, becoming your son."

"How could this be..." The color drained from Shirley Wentworth’s face. "I really did sleep with Jett that night. I really was pregnant, and I really did give birth to a child. If Elle is Jett’s son with soone else, then where... where is the child I gave birth to?"

"Miss Shirley, please don’t panic. Calm down so we can investigate this slowly."

"How can I be calm!" Tears stread down Shirley Wentworth’s face. "I went through hell to have this child, hoping to use him to get closer to Jett. I never thought about giving up, even though he despises ."

"I even knelt before Wendy Reeves just to win her favor! And now you’re telling Elle isn’t my son? How am I supposed to stay calm?!"

"But the most urgent thing right now is to figure out what happened all those years ago."

Shirley Wentworth squeezed her eyes shut, forcing herself to calm down with every ounce of her strength. "You’re right. I have to be calm. I have to find out what the hell happened!"

Back in her car, Shirley Wentworth pulled out her phone and dialed a number.

The mont the other party answered, she demanded angrily, "Elle isn’t my biological son! What the hell is going on?"

"Don’t be rash."

"’Don’t be rash?’" Shirley Wentworth’s eyes widened in realization. "So you’ve known all along... Of course. You were with when I gave birth, how could you not know... Tell what’s going on! Who is Elle’s mother, and where is my child with Jett?!"

"You need to be clear about what you want. Your ultimate goal is to marry Jett Sterling. Nothing else is as important."

"Bullshit! How am I supposed to marry Jett without our child? You’d better tell where my child with Jett is! And Elle is definitely Jett’s son, so if I’m not his mother, then what woman is? If you don’t give a clear explanation, I’m not letting this go!"

"If you keep shouting like this, the whole world will find out Elle isn’t your and Jett Sterling’s son, and then you’ll truly have no chance at all," the person on the phone reminded her calmly. "What you need to do now is calm down and strike while the iron is hot. Use Elle to secure your position. As long as you don’t say a word, who’s going to know he isn’t your son?"

Shirley Wentworth was taken aback by these words and fell into deep thought.

’That’s right, I have to marry Jett Sterling. No matter what, that goal will not change!’

’I have to calm down right now. I can’t lose my cool, and I absolutely cannot let anyone find out about this secret!’

Shirley Wentworth collected her thoughts and said, "You need to co back to the country imdiately and explain this to in person. I’m warning you, we’re in the sa boat. If I go down, you’re going down with !"

"Fine. I’ll co back as soon as I can."

Shirley Wentworth hung up. Only after composing herself did she drive back to the Wentworth family villa.

The mont she walked in the door, she saw Elle playing with Legos. The rage she had just suppressed instantly flared up again.

’This was the child she loved most in the world, more than her own life!’

’But in the span of a single day, she’d found out they had no biological connection whatsoever!’

’If Elle had been the child of so other random couple, that would be one thing. But he was Jett’s son with another woman! How could she possibly tolerate that?’

Burning with rage, Shirley Wentworth rushed forward and smashed the Lego creation in front of Elle to pieces. "Play, play, play!" she roared. "All you do all day is play! Is there anything else you know how to do?!"

Elle froze, tears welling up in his eyes as he glared at Shirley Wentworth.

This only made Shirley Wentworth angrier. She yanked him toward her and began spanking his bottom.

"How many tis have I told you not to stare at like that! Are you deaf?!"

Elle finally broke down and burst into tears. "WAAAH..."

"You dare to cry!" Shirley Wentworth hit him even harder. "I’ll give you a reason to cry! I’ll give you a reason to cry!"

"What are you doing?" Vincent Wentworth’s angry voice cut through the air. He rushed forward, pulled Shirley Wentworth away, and scooped Elle into his arms. "He’s just a little boy! How can you hit him like that? Shirley, have you lost your mind?!"

"Brother, stay out of this. A disobedient child needs to be disciplined."

"This isn’t discipline, it’s abuse. As long as he hasn’t stolen anything or done sothing that crosses a moral line, you shouldn’t lay a hand on him. You can’t beat a child into obedience."

"Brother, you don’t understand..."

"Maybe I don’t, but the Wentworth Family has its own rules. Since you gave birth to him, he’s a part of this family, and as his uncle, I have a responsibility to look after him." Vincent Wentworth looked at her. "You don’t look well. Go to your room and rest. I’ll take care of him."

Shirley Wentworth resisted. "Brother..."

Vincent Wentworth’s gaze turned cold. "I told you to go to your room."

Startled, Shirley Wentworth had no choice but to comply. "Fine."

Vincent Wentworth sat down, still holding Elle. "Don’t cry. Uncle’s here. I won’t let Mommy hit you again."

Elle’s cries subsided into pitiful sobs. "Uncle, I want to go find Vivian..."

The face from that other night flashed through Vincent Wentworth’s mind, and he answered without a second thought, "Okay. Uncle will take you to her."
