Chapter 1690: Chapter 1690: The Past

Just earlier in the chieftain’s room, Lin YaoYao, after regaining her composure, began interrogating the chieftain.

The chieftain at that point was already tortured to the verge of life and death, spilling everything!

So revelations about past events were shocking, but what really sent chills down Lin YaoYao’s spine was the discovery that a powerful extraterrestrial being had been secretly controlling this place all along!

That’s why she needed to find Jiang Xiaobai with the grand priest’s help, otherwise, Jiang Xiaobai might have already been taken by that extraterrestrial!

Originally, Lin YaoYao thought she was dood, but then, a heavenly goddess descended and utterly crushed the extraterrestrial supre being, even forcing him to cry out “father” on the spot!

Such a scene shook Lin YaoYao to her core.

At the sa ti, Qingcheng Xianzi turned to look at Lin YaoYao, smiling, and even walked forward to help her up, holding her close while gently brushing the dust off her clothes.

This affectionate gesture left Lin YaoYao completely stunned and overwheld, curling up in Qingcheng Xianzi’s embrace like a helpless child.

“You… still have that mischievous, naughty streak.”

Qingcheng Xianzi said tenderly, soothingly patting the girl’s shoulder: “Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, no one can hurt you two.”

“Huh?”

Lin YaoYao was dumbfounded, staring blankly at Qingcheng Xianzi and pointing at her own nose: “仙子姐姐… do you know ?”

“Know you? Of course I do. I don’t just know you, I also know that rascal over there.”

As Qingcheng Xianzi spoke, she casually pointed at the unconscious Jiang Xiaobai, who suddenly sprang up from the ground like a cannonball, alertly surveying the surroundings.

When he realized the area was safe and spotted an unfamiliar woman next to him, he frowned deeply.

“What happened just now? Where’s that old extraterrestrial dog?”

Lin YaoYao pointed at Qingcheng Xianzi, then at the cave entrance: “He ran away after being beaten. You wouldn’t believe it – just now this Xianzi’s power was terrifyingly overwhelming. Let describe it to you…”

For so unknown reason, Lin YaoYao, usually aloof and reserved, turned into a chatterbox before Jiang Xiaobai, animatedly recounting everything that had transpired.

After finishing her story, she crossed her arms and said, “So, you saved once; I saved you once. We’re even. Don’t even think about so life-debt nonsense, got it?”

Jiang Xiaobai rolled his eyes. He had never taken the “life-debt” promise seriously and didn’t care for this wild girl anyway.

However, it was Qingcheng Xianzi standing before him that piqued his curiosity.

“Thank you, Xianzi, for saving my life. But I’m curious – if you’re so powerful, why didn’t you just kill the extraterrestrial outright? Also… why do I feel like you seem to know ?”

Qingcheng Xianzi chuckled lightly and replied, “I do know both of you, but you don’t rember … no need to mind that right now. Soon, you’ll recall everything.”

With that, Qingcheng Xianzi suddenly appeared beside Jiang Xiaobai, her sharp nose close to his hair, sniffing gently.

A visible blush crept across her face!

“Such a familiar scent~”

Jiang Xiaobai froze at the sight of this woman’s reaction – his entire body felt numb! What the hell? Could this be so romantic debt he had left behind at so point?

No way!

Lin YaoYao stood nearby, counting her fingers, staring in disbelief at the scene before her.

Why does this guy always manage to be surrounded by beautiful won?

Either they possess trendous talent or terrifying strength. Why?!

Just because he’s a man?

Because he’s handso?

Out of nowhere, Lin YaoYao suddenly wished to transform into a man herself. She deeply missed the warmth of the Xianzi’s embrace earlier.

At that mont, Qingcheng Xianzi turned to look at Lin YaoYao: “Tell the information you gathered from the chieftain.”

“Ah? Oh, oh… right, here’s how it is…”

Lin YaoYao snapped out of her daze and hurriedly began explaining.

It turns out this place had indeed been left as a remnant of the Heavenly Court era, safeguarding a “spark” left behind by powerful celestial beings in those ancient tis. Back then, tens of thousands of people stayed behind, but no one knew how much ti it would take for these sparks to bear fruit.

Nor did they know how the affairs of the outside world would evolve.

Thus, as millennia passed, this secret realm flourished into a vast and glorious world, birthing various dynasties and countless cultivators vying for supremacy.

After all, this place was comparable to an entire world; hosting such a large population was absolutely feasible.

But as ti went on and many individuals reached a certain level of advancent, they began uncovering the secrets of this world and yearning to leave.

However, Heavenly Court experts had, long ago, established a barrier: only those who reached the Celestial Sovereign realm could break through.

Given the limited resources this small world could produce, how long would it take to nurture a Celestial Sovereign?

As ti passed, the world grew more desperate. While many talents erged, not a single one reached the required realm.

Eventually, a terrifying war erupted!

Countless cultivators, driven by unknown motives, began fighting, killing, and descending into madness, resulting in catastrophic deaths that nearly wiped out the world.

At that point, the population of the world sharply declined, many legacies were severed entirely, and the inhabitants stood on the brink of extinction. Suddenly, a massive prismatic space appeared.

From within this space erged a group of mysterious strong beings, claiming they could guide the inhabitants, lead them, and even help them escape this place!

Subsequently, these extraterrestrial beings used their imnse power to conquer the world, utilizing the prismatic space to transfer the inhabitants away.

No one knew the outco of those who were relocated, leaving only a small portion behind – the ancestors of this current tribe – to continue surviving under the rule of a grand priest.

No one understood their true aims, but faced with overwhelming strength, they had no choice but to endure and continue living here.

This endured for millions of years, until today!

The identity of the grand priest was known to every chieftain, so upon learning of the prismatic space from the chieftain, Lin YaoYao imdiately rushed to the grand priest to aid Jiang Xiaobai.

“So, this place has long been infiltrated by that prismatic space?”

Jiang Xiaobai’s expression turned grave. “Then the Demon Crystal truly is sothing created by the beings of the prismatic space. But what for? If they can already enter, why not just destroy the black crystal outright?”

Upon learning this, Jiang Xiaobai’s first thought was that these beings intended to destroy the black crystal to prevent the Heavenly Court experts from resurrecting through the Divine Ranking Scroll!

But then again, it didn’t quite seem like that!

“That’s because they don’t actually know where it is. Only those destined can find it. So despite repeatedly searching, they couldn’t locate it and had to station forces here while waiting for you to take the bait.”

Qingcheng Xianzi remarked with a faint smile.

Jiang Xiaobai finally grasped everything – he was the key. If he hadn’t co, they’d have continued waiting.

And he had to co!

“Then, what is this prophecy?” Jiang Xiaobai asked curiously.

“The prophecy is simply your arrival, isn’t it?”

Qingcheng Xianzi smiled gently, then waved at Jiang Xiaobai. “Now that you roughly understand these things, don’t dwell on them for now. The extraterrestrial beings are just sparrows, nothing more.”

“Co, I’ll show you a treasure.”
