Chapter 1654: Chapter 1654: I’ve Co to Find the Buddha’s Disciple

Hearing this, Yang Jian’s mouth twitched, barely suppressing the urge to smack Jiang Xiaobai on the head.

“What do you an by ‘making a coback’? Am I so great villain or sothing?”

“Ahaha, just a slip of the tongue…”

Jiang Xiaobai scratched his head awkwardly. “So, how many people are still within this Fengshen Bang, and when are you all finally coming out of seclusion?”

“Soon… And your timing couldn’t be better. Just before you erged, I sensed that one of the contingency plans left behind by the Heavenly Court in the Earthly Immortal Realm is about to activate. It holds a vast amount of treasures that could speed up the revival of the Fengshen Bang.”

“So, I need you to retrieve those treasures.”

Jiang Xiaobai pouted. “But True Lord, I only have three months left. Is there enough ti for this? And you also said it’s only *about* to activate. Who knows when it’ll actually happen?”

“It’ll be fine. You have enough ti.”

Yang Jian smiled faintly. “Many things in this world are preordained, but they can also be manipulated by human intervention. The old Taoist in the yellow robes is the one behind all this. Don’t worry, you won’t die.”

“They won’t let you die, and we won’t let you die. It’s just that this calamity is destined in your fate.”

Jiang Xiaobai nodded in understanding and said no more, although he did recall the system rewards he had received earlier.

Activating an ancient remnant… could it be referring to the Heavenly Court’s contingency plan?

While he was lost in thought, Yang Jian tossed a token over to him. “Take this—it’s the key to opening the secret realm. Without it, you won’t be able to enter.”

“Your strength isn’t very high yet, but I can sense another kind of power within you. I’d originally planned to awaken it within you directly, but now I think it’s better not to.”

Jiang Xiaobai felt a pang in his heart. Damn, just how powerful would Yang Jian’s awakening technique have been?

And now he couldn’t even experience it? The pain… unbearable!

“Don’t feel regretful. For you, greater opportunities are awaiting.”

Yang Jian clasped his hands behind his back and sighed heavily. “It’s ti to wrap this up. Go.”

“Wait, True Lord, do you really trust this much?” Jiang Xiaobai asked hurriedly.

In response, Yang Jian rely gave a mysterious smile, said nothing, and the two of them were then expelled from the Emperor’s Mausoleum.

The mausoleum was no longer detectable by either of them, as if it had vanished into thin air.

Su i and Jiang Xiaobai were left dazed in the void, their expressions utterly bewildered.

“So, what exactly happened back then?” Su i asked blankly.

“How would I know? You don’t seriously think you can get them to spill any secrets, do you?”

Jiang Xiaobai snorted. “Take it from , never, ever try to extract information from those bigshots. Their mouths are tighter than sealed stone. You won’t get a thing!”

Waving his hand dismissively, Jiang Xiaobai was already used to such things and chose not to dwell on it.

After all, he hadn’t expected to learn anything when he ca here; he was only focused on finding a way to extend his lifespan.

Well, let’s just call this an unexpected bonus.

“The Fengshen Bang can be revived… It’s both a blessing and a curse…”

Jiang Xiaobai sighed inwardly and, with Su i by his side, started heading toward the Immortal Road.

Since Yang Jian had already said so, there was no need to worry. All he had to do was wait patiently for the solution to present itself.

But in the anti, it was ti to focus on improving his strength. He couldn’t afford to waste a single second.

Knowing what he now knew, Jiang Xiaobai was fully aware that the crucial mont had arrived.

Every second, every mont, was precious!

After Jiang Xiaobai left, the Eastern Azure Emperor’s figure erged in that sa spot. With a wave of his hand, the previously hidden Fengshen Bang appeared and sucked him inside.

“True Lord, co out for a chat,” said the Eastern Azure Emperor calmly.

The mont he spoke, Yang Jian and several other gods from the Heavenly Court appeared before him, all bowing respectfully.

“We greet the mighty Eastern Azure Emperor!” they said in unison.

The Eastern Azure Emperor chuckled lightly. “At a ti like this, why bother with these formalities? True Lord, care for a walk?”

“Sure,” Yang Jian replied.

The two of them walked side by side within the Fengshen Bang, chatting about who knows what. It was only after two full hours that the Eastern Azure Emperor finally left.

On Yang Jian’s face, a look of excitent and anticipation lingered.

Finally back in the Earthly Immortal Realm, Jiang Xiaobai was just about to set off for the underworld when he suddenly noticed a fierce battle up ahead. Even more striking was the faint presence of Buddhist energy!

Buddhism was a rather sensitive subject!

At least, as far as Jiang Xiaobai knew, it wasn’t sothing he’d heard much about in the Earthly Immortal Realm. That faint trace of Buddhist energy reminded him of sothing.

“Damn it, I forgot about that blasted bald guy! I knew I was forgetting sothing!”

Jiang Xiaobai cried out in surprise and imdiately rushed toward the source of the Buddhist light. In his mind, the only Buddhist person he could think of was that gluttonous monk!

But when he arrived, he found that the combatant wasn’t the gluttonous monk, but a tall, strikingly alluring monk with a lotus seal on his forehead!

Hovering midair, the monk unleashed a massive Buddha Palm, his hand emanating brilliant golden light. The sheer force shattered the ground and split the mountains apart!

“Damn, this monk is stylish!”

Jiang Xiaobai couldn’t help but exclaim. The battle quickly ended as the monk’s thunderous palm wiped out every single enemy!

Putting his hands together, the monk murmured a few chants, and Jiang Xiaobai keenly sensed that the lingering souls of his enemies had been completely dispersed!

Jiang Xiaobai gave him a thumbs up. Impressive!

Talk about obliterating soone’s existence properly!

At this mont, the monk turned to Jiang Xiaobai, a smile gracing his lips.

“This humble monk is Wunian. Greetings to Master Jiang!”

“You know ?” Jiang Xiaobai imdiately grew wary and took two steps back.

After all, he was well aware of the ss he had caused earlier—trolling powerful figures across all four continents was surely enough to get him wanted on every bounty list in the Earthly Immortal Realm!

“Master, please don’t misunderstand. This humble monk bears no ill will toward you.”

Wunian lowered his head slightly. “I sense the aura of one of my Buddhist brethren upon you. Might I ask if you’ve encountered soone from the Buddhist sect?”

“There’s been a fat monk—do you know him?”

“Indeed, this humble monk ca here searching for him. Sadly, arriving at this place, I found traces of the Buddha Child instead.”

Wunian shook his head regretfully, leaving Jiang Xiaobai montarily stunned.

He only ntioned a single fat monk, and yet the other party imdiately understood. Clearly, they knew exactly who the gluttonous monk was. But this Buddha Child…

“Are you sure that damned fat guy is qualified to be your Buddhist sect’s Buddha Child?” Jiang Xiaobai asked skeptically. “And are you aware that he’s also here in the Earthly Immortal Realm?”

“He is indeed the Buddha Child. Master, I must implore you not to speak ill of him.”

Wunian pressed his palms together and recited a Buddhist chant. “Half a day ago, the Buddha Child appeared in the Earthly Immortal Realm. I sensed his presence but have since lost track of him, as he has cloaked himself through so ans. I can no longer locate him.”

“Master Jiang, might I ask for your assistance in searching for him? You are fated with my Buddhist sect—this would be a ritorious deed. You…”

“Stop, stop, stop!”

Jiang Xiaobai waved his hand, visibly annoyed. “I’m warning you—say whatever you want, but don’t tell I’m fated with Buddhism. Say it one more ti, and I swear I’ll punch soone.”

“Finding that fat monk is out of the question—I’ve got more important matters to attend to. But if I co across him, I’ll deliver a ssage for you.”
