Li Shengi and Dong ihua looked at each other, lost for words.
On the other side, Zheng Xianghong said to Xia Xiao, "If Li Shengi and Dong ihua co to talk to you about Gangzi, don’t bother with them; they’ve got nothing better to do after filling their bellies."
Xia Xiao nodded and turned to Zheng Xianghong, "Mom, did Li Shengi look for you?"
"Exactly, just ignore her," Zheng Xianghong replied as she placed Feiyi on the bed. They had recently added another bed to their dormitory, and now Zheng Xianghong shared her sleep with Feiyi.
Feiyang and Feiyue were both clinging to Xia Xiao. Feiyi was still young and didn’t compete for affection like his two older brothers. After Zheng Xianghong took care of him for a few days, he grew familiar with her and was willing to sleep with Grandma.
Gao Jiaxing, on the other hand, slept in the greenhouse with his comrades. Everyone was tired from training, and sleeping in the greenhouse was more convenient for them.
Although Gao Jiaxing was going to study at a military academy next year, he still trained with everyone else for the ti being. Thanks to Xia Xiao’s regular use of spring water to nourish him, Gao Jiaxing was in excellent physical condition.

Several military wives had children, with Wang Yuncai as the sole exception who was childless, and Lin Xiang, the military doctor, was still unmarried.
Lin Xiang had requested to be transferred here after deeming none of her family’s introductions suitable. Yu Shijie, however, regretted this most of all. If he had known that as soon as Lin Xiang arrived, she would be fixated on Gao Jia, he would have never agreed to her transfer.
So, before they went out to sea, Yu Shijie confronted Lin Xiang, "What exactly are you trying to do?"
"Cousin, what would I want to do?" Lin Xiang responded innocently.
"Then why are you always watching Deputy Company Commander Gao? He’s a married soldier, and you’re a soldier too. Don’t you know this is wrong?" Yu Shiejie stared at her sternly.
Lin Xiang looked aggrieved, "I haven’t done anything; I just admire him, like admiring a hero. I’m nothing like you think."
"If you don’t want people to get the wrong idea, then don’t do things that could cause misunderstandings; otherwise, I’ll find a way to have you transferred away," Yu Shijie warned.
"Fine, fine, I’m not going to make any mistakes," Lin Xiang said with discontent.
"There are many eligible bachelors in the military, aside from the married ones. If you like any of them, I can help you talk to them," Yu Shijie suggested after pondering.
Lin Xiang replied, "The really outstanding ones are all married, except for you."
Yu Shijie glowered, and Lin Xiang quickly added, "We’re cousins; it’s impossible. Cousin, don’t get wrong; I don’t like you. But don’t keep picking on when you’re the sa, getting on in years without finding soone for yourself. We’re both in the sa boat, so neither can criticize the other."
Yu Shijie’s glare deepened. How could n and won be the sa? n could still marry in their thirties or forties without issue, but for won, ti was less forgiving after twenty-five and even more challenging by thirty.
"Forget it; just don’t cause trouble. This isn’t the Dragon Breeding Corps; if sothing happens, no one will cover for you," Yu Shijie stated before leaving.
Left behind, Lin Xiang pursed her lips in frustration. She knew all too well, yet what could she do if she found all those n undesirable?
She didn’t want much, just to admire Gao Jia from afar. Lin Xiang felt obsessed, but she couldn’t help it; her eyes and heart were filled only with Gao Jia. No other man compared.
Kicking at the sand beneath her feet, Lin Xiang didn’t know what to do. Unable to find soone like Gao Jia, she yearned for a man with his sa caliber, yet she knew a man like him was one of a kind; there wouldn’t be another.
It was hard to tell what Lin Xiang was thinking, but after the soldiers headed out to sea, she went to Xia Xiao and said, "Sister-in-law, could you find a date?"
Xia Xiao was taken aback, not knowing how to interact at first. Eventually, she recovered her voice, "You finding a date, what need is there for to set you up?"
"Sister-in-law has good judgnt; whoever you pick must be good," Lin Xiang insisted.
Speechless for a mont, and feeling like facepalming, Xia Xiao said, "Those I know, you know too. Besides, you’re a military doctor in the unit, single and unmarried; many chase after you. Just pick whichever you think is good for you."
"Sister-in-law, I want soone as capable as Deputy Company Commander Gao. Could you help choose? You’ve been with the military for many years; you know who is outstanding and who is good. You must know," Lin Xiang pleaded.
As soon as she finished, Xia Xiao shook her head, "I don’t know."
Xia Xiao wasn’t foolish enough to indulge Lin Xiang’s request.
Lin Xiang pouted, "You don’t want to help , do you dislike ?"
"Not at all, you’re overthinking," Xia Xiao responded. "This kind of thing can’t be helped by others; after all, it’s soone you have to spend your life with. You should make your own decision. You can ask other military wives for help. I’m already married; aside from my own man and children, I don’t give another man a second glance. So asking is pointless."
Xia Xiao spread her hands in a helpless gesture, but Lin Xiang pouted and stamped her feet in frustration.
Xia Xiao simply ignored her, feeling no impulse to pander to such girlish antics.
At that mont, Zheng Xianghong happened to return with Feiyi after sunbathing, followed by Li Shengi, who was also looking after her grandson. Seeing Zheng Xianghong, Lin Xiang begged, "Auntie, could you set up with soone?"
Zheng Xianghong chuckled, "How can I set you up with soone? I’ve just arrived, and all my sons and nephews are already married; I have no one to introduce to you. As for the soldiers here, don’t you already know them? Plus, I heard your cousin is here; ask him to introduce you, or you could ask the unit, they’d also help you find a match."
Li Shengi’s eyes lit up and she said to Lin Xiang, "Would you mind soone younger? I have a younger son, turned 20 this year. Though he’s not in the military and not as handso as my second son, he’s no worse than my eldest, and he’s tall and impressive with excellent academic performance."
Li Shengi boasted about her younger son, He Xuewu, praising her own product like a seller at market in front of Lin Xiang.
Upon hearing this, Xia Xiao and Zheng Xianghong were stunned, at a loss for words.
