The people of the Red Star Production Team fled, and Xia Xiao quickly knelt down to collect all the treasures from the graves, even those that were discarded, into her space.

She looked at these opened graves and felt that this place resembled the burial sites of attendants around a deceased leader.

That’s why so graves had treasures, and others did not, but the leader’s grave had the most treasures.

From these treasures, it appeared that everything belonged to males, with not a single piece of won’s jewelry present.

But for Xia Xiao, this was also a significant gain.

Having taken the items, Xia Xiao looked at the opened graves, realizing she couldn’t restore them, heard the voices of Jiaxing and others nearby, and decided not to linger. She bowed to the graves and vanished directly into her space but didn’t imdiately return to the production team, instead keeping an eye on Jiaxing.

When the Red Star Production Team mbers experienced haunting, the Guangming Production Team heard about it too. Jiaxing saw the Red Star Production Team mbers had run away and suggested, "Let’s go over and check."

Upon arrival, they saw that apart from the bones, all other items were gone.

Everyone was startled and felt a chill down their spines, "There really, really is a ghost." A young man trembled as he spoke, feeling his legs weaken.

So people imdiately knelt down to pay respects, murmuring prayers. Jiaxing said, "Restore the graves so the deceased can rest in peace."

Now, nobody dared refuse to restore them, as it was a clear supernatural sign, utterly terrifying.

Watching Jiaxing and the others restore the graves, Xia Xiao breathed a sigh of relief and left without lingering further.

When Jiaxing and his team returned to the production team, they all discussed the bizarre occurrences at the gravesite, the topic abuzz. Even the elders said that digging up graves would bring retribution. The young people from the Guangming Production Team, who had been considering it, were relieved they hadn’t participated and were very grateful to Jiaxing.

Back in her dorm, Xia Xiao and the others talked until it got dark, and everyone beca too frightened to sleep.

Spurred by their conversation, seeing everyone scared, Xia Xiao also grew frightened. "Guilty consciences invite ghostly knocks," but Xia Xiao had taken all the treasures from the graves and was feeling guilty.

She wanted to hide in her space but couldn’t, so she had no choice but to stick close to Yang Xuehua for sleep.

anwhile, Dong ihua was alone and lonely; Feng Ying had married into the Red Star Production Team, and although Dong ihua was dating He Xuexiang, it wasn’t feasible for her to live with the He family yet, so she stayed in the sa dormitory as Xia Xiao and the others.

Thus, Sun Yuhua and Wang Aihua shared one bed, Xia Xiao and Yang Xuehua another, while Dong ihua had to sleep by herself.

That night, a piercing scream shattered the silence, jolting everyone awake in the dormitory.

"Dong ihua, what happened?" everyone hurriedly asked as they got up.

Sobbing, Dong ihua threw herself into Xia Xiao’s arms. Xia Xiao froze, not pushing Dong ihua away but asked instead, "Did you have a nightmare?"

Sobbing, Dong ihua continued crying without saying anything.

Soon, many people surrounded Xia Xiao’s dorm, all awakened and curious.

"What happened here?"

Wang Aihua said, "We don’t know. Dong ihua suddenly scread, and it woke us all up."

"Sob, there’s a ghost, I saw it," Dong ihua managed to say amidst her tears, "Sob, I wanted to scream for help but couldn’t. It was choking ; it was so scary." Before she could finish, soone hesitated, recalling today’s grave-digging incident at the Red Star Production Team, and stopped speaking sheepishly.

Eventually, Li Shengi, who had been disturbed by the noise, ca over upon hearing that a ghost had frightened Dong ihua into tears and ran over,

"Are there any ghosts?" As she spoke, Li Shengi suspiciously glanced at Xia Xiao, "It wasn’t you playing a ghost to scare ihua, was it?"

"I’d say Director Li looks more likely," countered Xia Xiao, rolling her eyes.

Everyone laughed seeing Li Shengi in such a disheveled state — she had run over with her hair undone and since it was still dark, eting Li Shengi on a night road would indeed be a frightening encounter.

Li Shengi’s face darkened, but having no evidence, she drew Dong ihua close and comforted, "Don’t be scared. Co sleep at my place tonight. Stay with ; you’re Gangzi’s partner, and since he isn’t ho, no one can object to you staying at my place. I’ll write to Gangzi tomorrow, asking him to take leave and co back to register our marriage."

Dong ihua then followed Li Shengi to the He Family ho to sleep, and those left at Xia Xiao’s dorm couldn’t sleep anymore. Yang Xuehua said somberly, "There couldn’t really be ghosts, right? I’m too scared to sleep now."

"I’m scared too, but I still want to see a ghost," Wang Aihua said.

Sun Yuhua suggested, "Let’s push our beds together and sleep."

Hearing Sun Yuhua volunteer to push the beds together took everyone by surprise, as it was unexpected of her.

Sun Yuhua was known for her fastidiousness about cleanliness, known by not just the entire dorm but most of the production team, and the only reasons she would share a bed with Wang Aihua were to stay warm during the winter or out of fear of the dark.

But her making such a suggestion now showed she was also affected.

So, the four people in Xia Xiao’s dorm set about pushing their beds together. Once done, they had more space and began discussing who would sleep in the middle, inside, and outside positions.

Wang Aihua said, "I’ll sleep on the outside."

Xia Xiao said, "Let sleep on the outside." She felt the middle and inside spots were too cramped.

In the end, Wang Aihua slept on the outside, with Xia Xiao next to her, followed by Yang Xuehua, and Sun Yuhua on the inside.

Perhaps this arrangent provided more of a sense of security, or maybe they were just too tired and sleep-deprived, but soon everyone was fast asleep again. They woke up the next morning feeling relatively refreshed.

Wang Aihua and Yang Xuehua, as usual, did Xia Xiao’s hair in pigtails. They resud the half-finished work from yesterday.

Dong ihua arrived with Li Shengi and took a step back when they saw Xia Xiao and others, even avoiding eye contact and not daring to approach.

"What does she an by that?" Wang Aihua questioned.

"She’s scared of us," Yang Xuehua responded.

Clearly. Anyone with eyes could see Dong ihua’s deanor changed when she saw them. Xia Xiao said, "Don’t tell she actually believed Director Li, thinking that we deliberately scared her."

Sun Yuhua nodded, "Definitely. Otherwise, why would she look at us like we’re ghosts?"

They had guessed right after all. During the night Dong ihua slept at the He Family house with Li Shengi. Li Shengi felt there were no ghosts at all but suspected Xia Xiao and the others were intentionally scaring her.
