The bookworm just looked up from its book and looked right at .
As it looked at , it pushed up its glasses as if it was taking a closer look at .
Then after a while, it said, "Now that I’ve shown myself, will you turn that light down? I want to have a talk with you before anything else happens."
I was taken aback by the words that the bookworm said, but I eventually weakened the flas that were around .
It wasn’t as if I was able to keep those flas up, but this invader didn’t have to know that.
So as if I was agreeing to talk, I lowered the intensity of the flas and moved so of the flas to the front so that I would still be able to see the bookworm while I talked to it.
The bookworm didn’t seem to mind that I had the fla in front of it since I had lowered the intensity of the fla.
After the fla was moved between us, I looked at the bookworm and asked, "Alright, what do you want to talk about?"
The bookworm just looked at for a bit before saying, "First, let’s talk about why you’re here. You’re clearly not soone from this lower realm if you know that I’m an invader from an upper realm. Why do you care what I do here?"
With a shrug, I said, "Who said that I’m not from this lower realm?"
The bookworm pushed up its glasses again and seed like it was judging before saying, "The aura is off. Your aura is clearly from a place much higher than this lower realm, so you can’t fool ."
Aura...
I certainly wasn’t expecting the bookworm to say sothing like this, but it was an interesting concept.
Perhaps what it was feeling was the system or perhaps it was because I had obtained the inheritances of two different gods.
It was unknown what the bookworm was sensing that it felt that my aura was different, but I knew that it had to be one of these things.
Still, that didn’t an that it was right.
After all, as far as this body was concerned, it really was from this lower realm.
It was only because I took over this body that these things appeared in them.
But that didn’t an that I was connected to the upper realm either.
After all, I had never been to an upper realm whether it was the body or the soul that currently inhabited the body.
Though it would be hard to convince the bookworm who seed convinced that I was from an upper realm.
Since it was convinced, there was no need to change its mind.
"Then if I am, will you go back?" I slowly asked the bookworm.
The bookworm just looked at for a bit before slowly shaking its head and saying, "You know that we don’t have a choice in this matter. We’re sent here to invade because we have no other choice."
It seed like it was sad about sothing with the way that it said this, but I didn’t let my guard down around it.
After a minute, it suddenly looked back up at to say, "So instead of competing to take over this world, we can just work together. What do you think about that?"
The way that it said this seed like it was quite sincere about this, but I just couldn’t seem to trust this worm. After all, it seed like it wasn’t the trustworthy kind to begin with.
Seeing that I didn’t say anything, the bookworm said, "We can just divide the resources that this lower realm has. I’m sure that we’re after different things in the first place, so it should be easy to divide the resources."
I raised a brow as if I was interested before asking, "Oh, what are you after then?"
The bookworm looked at in silence for a bit before saying, "Are you saying that you’ll work with then?"
It seed that unless I accepted its terms, it wouldn’t tell anything.
But I didn’t give up that easily as I said, "Why don’t you tell first and I’ll see if we can work together."
The bookworm didn’t say anything in response and that was its response.
It seed that this was the bottom line that it wasn’t willing to give up on.
However, it wasn’t as if either of us were actually planning on working with each other in the first place.
"Alright, I think that’s enough beating around the bush." I suddenly said.
The bookworm was surprised to hear this before it narrowed its eyes to say, "What do you an by that?"
I looked down at the bookworm before saying with a smile, "Neither of us were serious about cooperating in the first place. The only reason that we even talked like this was because we just wanted to stall for ti."
The bookworm didn’t say anything in response, but it was clear that it wasn’t denying this.
After a mont of silence, the bookworm said, "You still have a chance. If you want to cooperate, I’m willing to work with you. After all, you seem like you’re quite skilled that you can even tell that I’m setting up an ambush for you."
"Maybe it’s because I’m doing the sa thing?" I said with the sa smile.
The bookworm didn’t say anything in response as it suddenly flicked its tail on the ground.
The mont that it flicked its tail on the ground, there were worms that suddenly ca out of the ground under us.
I had already prepared flas that stopped them from reaching us, but it didn’t stop them from surrounding us completely.
The flas that were around us were like a cage that kept them out, but the worms that were around us were like another cage that stopped us from doing anything.
"What are you planning to do now?" The bookworm said in a smug voice.
