When she ca out of the room, Bing Xin had the sa calm look on her face.

She looked at the maids with that calm look and said in a cold voice, "Lead the way."

The maids couldn’t help shivering when they heard this voice.

These were maids that had been in the Shan Family for a long ti, so they naturally knew what kind of position Bing Xin had.

That was why they were even more shocked when they heard her talking to them like this. At the sa ti, they were shocked to find that they couldn’t help obeying her unconsciously.

So the only thing that they could do was lead her back to the main hall.

Bing Xin naturally recognized that they were going back to the main hall, but she didn’t say a thing as she let them lead the way to the main hall.

When they arrived, the maids had her wait outside as they went in to announce her.

After a while, Bing Xin was allowed to enter the main hall.

However, it was no longer the mbers of the Shan Family that were waiting there for her. There were still so mbers of the Shan Family such as Family Head Shan and a few of the elders, but there was another group that was there as well.

This was another group of old n who had arrived in the Shan Family Manor.

It didn’t seem like there were any young people that had co with this group of old n which confused Bing Xin. But she didn’t remain confused for long as she guessed what the situation was.

These were most likely the elders of the family that they were trying to marry her into.

The ones that ca were the elders who were here to discuss the terms of the engagent, they didn’t bring the one that she would be engaged to with them.

So Bing Xin just kept the sa calm look on her face as she walked in.

When she walked in, she could see them turning to look at her.

The gazes that fell on her made Bing Xin feel uncomfortable, but she endured since she was doing this for her mother.

After a long silence, one of them suddenly said, "Good, very good. I like her quite a bit."

Family Head Shan imdiately revealed a smile when he heard this person say this.

He waved his hand at Bing Xin as if calling her over.

The way that he did it was like he was calling a servant over which made Bing Xin not want to go over, but she endured in the end and went over to where they were.

Once she ca over, they started looking at her even more closely. The way that their eyes went over her body made Bing Xin’s skin squirm with discomfort. It was like there was sothing crawling on her skin with the way that she was feeling.

Still, Bing Xin endured.

After a long silence, the one that spoke before suddenly said, "Ha, ha, ha, you really do know how to please."

He turned to look at Family Head Shan before saying, "I’ll take her, she’ll be my fifth concubine."

Bing Xin knitted her brows the mont that she heard this.

The one that was speaking was a middle aged man who seed to be nearing his fifties. He looked like he was only a step away from entering his late age.

Yet here he was saying that he would take her as his ’fifth’ concubine.

It seed that this marriage arrangent wasn’t as simple as she thought it was.

Family Head Shan however had a completely different expression on his face.

There was a wide smile that appeared on his lips as he said, "Your grace, it is our honour that she was able to catch your eyes."

Your grace...

Even the way that Family Head Shan addressed this man made it clear that he didn’t have a normal status. At the sa ti, it made Bing Xin’s mind turn as she started to figure out who this man was.

Bing Xin had lived most of her life in the Roaring Tiger Empire and knew a bit about the structure of the ruling class. More so than most normal people did since she was the illegitimate child of the Shan Family.

The man that was in front of her was...Duke Yu.

He was the brother of the current emperor and the only duke of the empire.

The reason why he had been allowed to live was because he was the one that had helped his brother take the throne, while the rest were all executed when they tried to take the throne from the current emperor.

After that, Duke Yu spent his life without a single care.

It was said that he was quite the lecherous fellow, taking three wives and four concubines. As well, it was unknown just how many different lovers and how many illegitimate children he had.

This was a man that could be considered absolute trash, but he was able to do whatever he wanted because of his status.

The Shan Family wasn’t arranging a marriage for her, but rather they were selling her to Duke Yu to build a relationship with the royal family.

This was a disgusting old man who was known for being lecherous and they were throwing her right into his hands.

Bing Xin really wanted to cancel their agreent, but Family Head Shan moved over to her side and leaned in to say, "Do you really want to do that to your mother? As long as you get married, what you do afterwards is your choice. But as long as you can build a relationship with the royal family for us, we’ll do whatever you want."

Bing Xin knitted her brows again when she heard this, but she quickly released them and let out a sigh before revealing the sa calm look as before.

What did it matter?

She had already resolved to sell herself for her mother.

Did it matter who she sold herself to?
