As the group continued on their way, after traversing two or three kiloters, they finally saw the stairwell leading to the surface, where the light diffused down!

The once-dreaded sunlight now seed like the tantalizing hope of survival.

The expressions of pain and ferocity beneath their masks softened into a look of yearning.

Zheng Yan Ying imdiately spoke up to encourage everyone; as a Combat Priest, it was her duty to uplift her teammates.

So she began to explain about the Mutants chasing them, unable to leave the underground ruins.

More precisely, they couldn’t leave the dark environnt.

Because if they reached the extrely dry surface or were exposed to the scorching sun, their slimy skin would crack open directly, their body temperature would rise rapidly, and intense ultraviolet light would burn and kill the mutant cells constituting them.

The genetic radiation of the ruins is a curse, but in front of the Scorching Sun, once removed from the dark, the strength of the Mutants would instantly plumt, turning them into lambs waiting for slaughter...

So as long as they escape to the surface,

they will achieve safety!

Inspired, the group once again erupted with strength; from the physical endurance of Evolvers, even after being depleted, they still had reserves to squeeze out.

Even burdened with a heavy armor weighing over a hundred kilograms, having sprinted over twenty kiloters, upon seeing the hope of survival, they ignited a fierce fighting spirit with their last willpower!

They sprinted towards the final staircase, two kiloters away, leading to the surface.

The soreness and pain in their footsteps gradually faded with their excited emotions...

They lost feeling, but ran faster and faster.

It took them ten minutes to run five kiloters, reaching the long staircase they had descended earlier.

Looking upward, they could already see the cave entrance at the foot of the mountain, with sunlight streaming through, beckoning to them.

Unfortunately, upon reaching this point, Shen Yue and the others found it extrely difficult to climb up the steps.

Lin Feng had no choice but to assist them up one by one, running back and forth four tis.

Finally, it ca to the turn of Zheng Yan Ying, who was on guard duty.

The latter waved her hand:

"I can handle it myself, keep an eye on the rear."

Lin Feng nodded, following behind her, stepping up the stairs towards the exit above.

Halfway up, they suddenly heard a boom!

A violent explosion ca from the entrance of the second basent floor behind them, the tremor and sound even more intense than the Armor-Piercing Cannon in Lin Feng’s hand.

Lin Feng imdiately turned to look.

In the distance, three or four kiloters away, the sound of rapid footsteps was approaching the entrance.

Zheng Yan Ying’s face slightly changed, recalling that ten minutes ago, if Lin Feng hadn’t insisted they move forward, they might be the ones being pursued now.

"Let’s go, don’t look back."

Lin Feng’s calm words ca from behind.

Zheng Yan Ying nodded and continued to step forward.

When she reached the exit, she was pulled out by the others, who had already removed their Level 3 Helts, out of the cave.

Back on the surface, they lay on the ground, took off their masks, and took deep breaths of fresh air.

Although the masks had a breathing filtration system to provide clean air, the air in the old space of the fourth basent was full of bacteria and viruses, and slled very unpleasant.

The odorous molecules, even through the respiratory filters which could filter out large molecular gene proteins of the virus, couldn’t eliminate the smaller odors.

Moreover, the air in the underground shelter itself had a very low oxygen content; they had to inhale heavily to get the oxygen that they could normally breathe on the surface.

Now, with the danger resolved, they lay on the surface with long-lost smiles on their faces.

But soon Zheng Yan Ying realized that sothing was wrong...

Lin Feng, who had climbed up behind her,

didn’t leave the ruins of the shelter nearby!

Zheng Yan Ying imdiately stood up, ca to the edge of the entrance, and saw Lin Feng still standing on the steps near the entrance, looking at the explorers rushing in from the distance.

It was the Salvation Army team.

More precisely, the main force of the Salvation Army, rapidly approaching the entrance with a support team.

And behind them was an uncountable number of Mutants, including several Tier Two Mutants.

At the forefront of the monster tide were several large creatures, especially the one in front, over four ters tall.

Due to the distance and the dim visibility of the first basent floor, they could only see the humanoid monster faintly through the Salvation Army’s lights, dressed in Black Armor, closely pursuing the Salvation Army team.

Within the Salvation Army formation, the person at the front was a white-haired woman in Light Armor.

She was carrying an exhausted Lisa in her hand.

While escaping, she took a bottle from her waist and threw it at the monster tide behind.

The steel bottle, no larger than a forearm, exploded with a burst more powerful than an Armor-Piercing Cannon with a boom.

Yet, because it was a re explosion without speed or accuracy, the large Mutant and several Late Tier Two Mutants chasing them easily dodged it.

Seeing that the formidable Mutants were about to catch up with the main force of the Salvation Army, Lin Feng hesitated for two seconds...

He slowly raised his Armor-Piercing Cannon.

Activating the Fire Coverage attribute, it could fire six rounds of Armor-Piercing Cannons with 140 points of Damage per second, lasting for five seconds.

Lin Feng only squeezed the trigger twice!

Twelve powerful Armor-Piercing Cannons shot straight from the half-fist-thick muzzle, towards the locked target:

the formidable Mutants behind the Salvation Army!

A series of explosive roars sounded!

As if several cannons were fired simultaneously, bombing from a kiloter away.

The relentless monster tide was bombarded and severely damaged by the artillery onslaught, halting their advance and scattering them.

Just a three or four-second blockade managed to distance the Salvation Army from the monster tide, giving them a chance to escape.

Seeing the mission accomplished, Lin Feng glanced coldly at the Salvation Army mbers staring at him, then turned around and left the entrance.

"Let’s go, ti to go back and eat."
