Chapter 89: Team Introduction
"Yes. I awakened."
Hearing this, Isha laughed loudly, her voice filled with genuine joy. This was the best news she had heard in a long ti, even more so than when she herself had awakened.
After her own awakening, she had already secured a strong position in Caron Town. But there had always been one regret in her life, her nephew had not awakened.
She didn’t care what kind of ability he would gain. She just wanted him to awaken.
But until now, he hadn’t.
And hearing that he finally awakened, it pleased her deeply.
"Co with ," she said without hesitation.
Before Vikram could respond, she lifted him effortlessly into her arms. To her, it was completely natural.
Vikram was surprised by her strength. He wanted to assess her physique, but before he could react, the ground vanished beneath them.
In a single step, she leaped forward, not even noticing that the eight Plant Sprouts had been left behind.
The air rushed past Vikram, and in the next mont, he found himself standing on top of the wall.
This ti, Vikram was completely stunned.
He looked back to where he had been just monts ago, then looked at his current position, repeating it again and again as if trying to confirm it.
He couldn’t even describe the feeling.
The jump had been smooth, controlled, and terrifyingly fast, far beyond what any normal human could achieve.
Vikram’s eyes flickered slightly.
He didn’t show it outwardly, but he had already understood.
In this place, he had no idea how many people had awakened, each with different abilities and powers.
But his aunt was definitely an awakener. And clearly one of the strongest in Caron Town.
Isha set him down gently on the walkway.
The view from the wall was clear. But unlike what he had imagined, that beyond the wall darkness would stretch endlessly and countless hordes of zombies would be visible.
Just like the zombie movies he had seen on Earth, like Resident Evil or The Walking Dead, he had expected chaos outside.
But there was none. No darkness. No hordes of zombies.
Forget about hordes, he couldn’t even see a single zombie.
He was confused and wanted to ask his aunt, but his attention shifted as Isha spoke.
"Everyone, look here."
As soon as she spoke, many people’s attention turned toward them.
From among them, twelve people stepped forward and appeared before them.
Behind them, many others were also standing, but it was clear they were under the command of these twelve.
Even though these twelve seed like leaders of the others, they were still under the command of his aunt.
Among the twelve, five were female and seven were male.
Each of them carried a weapon, their posture steady, their presence far from ordinary. A unique aura surrounded them.
Vikram imdiately understood why they were the leaders of the others, because these twelve were awakeners.
The rest were rely fighters.
Isha placed a hand on Vikram’s shoulder.
"These are my team mbers," she said calmly. "You’ll be seeing them often, so rember their faces and nas."
Then she began introducing them one by one.
"This is Deepak, Leader of Team 4, one of my most resourceful subordinates," she said first, slightly gesturing toward him. "He has awakened Weapon Reinforcent. Most of the weapons you see here have been strengthened by him."
Deepak stepped forward, adjusting the grip on his blade. His expression was calm and focused, his attention always centered on the weapon in his hand. His movents were precise, controlled, like soone who trusted his tools more than anything else. There was a quiet confidence around him, the kind that ca from knowing his work kept others alive.
"And this is Raghav, Leader of Team 10, the strongest among my subordinates."
Raghav stepped forward next.
"If zombies ever break into the town, he becos the frontline fortress," Isha continued. "He has awakened enhanced strength. Even zombies struggle to break through his defense."
Raghav’s massive fra made the description feel natural. His body was built like a solid wall, his muscles dense and hardened from constant battle. His forearms were wrapped in worn cloth, and his knuckles bore old scars. When he stood still, it felt as if nothing could move him once he decided to hold his ground.
Then she moved on.
"Next one is Jas, leader of Team 2, our primary long-range support. Since he has awakened enhanced vision, when Zombie Leaders appear, it is his responsibility to take them down before they get anywhere near us."
Jas gave a slight nod, his rifle resting against his shoulder. His build was lean, his presence quiet, but his eyes were sharp, constantly observing, calculating distances, angles, and movent. Even without raising his weapon, it felt like he had already marked every possible target.
"He is Arjun, leader of Team 7. Since he has awakened Speed Enhancent, his role is to deliver guns and ammunition, and to rescue others by bringing them to safety. He also fights zombies when necessary, but otherwise, he is constantly moving, running from one point to another."
Arjun shifted his stance lightly as he stepped forward. He was slim. His body never seed fully still, always carrying a subtle motion, like a spring ready to release at any mont. His eyes moved quickly, scanning everything around him.
Then Isha pointed toward a woman. She looked to be around twenty-eight and stepped forward with a small, confident smile. Her movents were light and precise, her body subtly shifting as if ready to react at any mont. Her eyes were sharp and alert, catching even the slightest movent around her.
"She is Neha, leader of Team 9. She has awakened quick reflexes and enhanced thinking. Most of the ti, she identifies threatening zombies and assists Raghav in eliminating them, while also helping save our team mbers from dangerous situations."
Vikram nodded and then looked toward the next woman, who appeared to be around twenty-seven.
Her expression was confident, slightly bold. A faint spark flickered at her fingertips before fading. There was a lively intensity in her eyes, as if she enjoyed the chaos of battle more than most.
"She is Pooja, leader of Team 6. We mostly call her Mad Fire. She has awakened the ability to ignite fire and serves as our main attacker," Isha said, then leaned slightly closer and murmured into Vikram’s ear.
"She’s strong, but also a bit crazy. My advice is keep your distance. She’s not like the younger girls who can easily fall for your charm."
After saying that, she moved toward the next person.
"He is Imran, leader of Team 8. He has awakened reinforced skin and usually stays with Raghav and Neha. Whenever zombies break into the town, he stands at the front with them."
A sturdy man with a thick fra stood with his arms crossed. His skin had a faint hardened texture, as if tempered through constant stress. His expression was calm, but his stance gave the impression of soone who could endure heavy blows without flinching.
Isha continued her introduction.
"He is Vikrant, leader of Team 5. He has awakened shockwave strikes. Whenever large groups of zombies gather or a path needs to be cleared quickly, he is the one who leads the charge. His attacks can break formations and push back multiple enemies at once, making him crucial during heavy pressure situations."
Vikrant stepped forward, his heavy build imdiately noticeable. His shoulders were wide, his presence intense, and his stance slightly aggressive. He tightened his grip on his weapon, and even without moving, it felt like a contained force rested within him, like any strike he delivered would erupt outward with destructive impact.
"He is Rohit, leader of Team 1. He has awakened tracking and perception. Before every wave and even during battle, he monitors enemy movent, identifies hidden threats, and predicts possible breach points. Most of our positioning depends on the information he provides."
Rohit nodded at him, while Vikrant nodded back. His eyes were sharp and observant. His posture remained slightly lowered, like soone always prepared to follow a trail or detect sothing others might miss. There was a quiet alertness in him, as if nothing around him could escape his notice.
"And she is Ayesha, leader of Team 3. She has awakened sound detection. She listens beyond normal range, detecting movent long before enemies appear. Whether it is approaching waves or hidden threats, she gives us early warnings, allowing us to prepare before the danger reaches the walls."
Ayesha shook hands with him, Vikram shook back. She is a young woman around twenty-one. Her eyes were gentle, but constantly shifting, reacting to distant sounds that no one else could perceive.
Isha then moved toward the last two mbers.
One was a young woman, around eighteen. She had a youthful yet composed appearance, her breathing steady and controlled, her posture relaxed but enduring, as if she could withstand long battles without faltering.
The other appeared to be around twenty-five. Her presence was calm and composed, her features soft yet serious. Her hair was tied neatly, and there was a quiet warmth in her deanor, but behind that calm surface, there was a sharp coldness in her eyes, a restrained hostility that beca evident the mont she looked at Vikram.
Vikram couldn’t understand it.
It felt as if he had taken sothing from her.
Isha also sensed the hostility from Sana, but she ignored it.
"This is Kavya, the youngest mber of our team," Isha said. "She has awakened the ability to boost stamina. During long battles, she ensures that our fighters don’t collapse from exhaustion."
Kavya gave a small, polite smile, her presence gentle yet steady.
"And this is Sana. She has the ability to heal injuries," Isha continued. "In every battle, she keeps our people alive. Both Sana and Kavya are the angels of this team, and my vice leaders."
Vikram nodded as he looked at them and extended his hand for a handshake.
Kavya accepted it without hesitation.
Sana did not. She simply looked at him with a cold, disdainful expression and turned her gaze away.
"Aunt... why is she against ?" Vikram asked Isha in a low tone.
But before she could answer.
