Chapter 147: Territory Shrink

As his gaze wandered, the ring on Divya’s finger caught his attention.

As if suddenly discovering sothing, he abruptly stood up from the sofa, startling the three of them.

The already tense atmosphere was further strained by his antics, causing them to look at him with suspicion.

"Vikram, what are you doing? You scared

half to death!" Anjali patted his chest, still shaken.

Divya stood up along with Vikram. "Did you discover sothing?"

They rarely went out hunting in their previous shelter. They were alright in the chat channel, but when it ca to their experiences in the wasteland, they were no match for Vikram.

Instead of answering the question, he brought up sothing from the past, "Do you guys rember when the deputy group leader, Director Aditya, rushed to get a piece of the pie?"

"Of course I rember. The deputy group leader was showing off about that ruins exploration a couple of days ago, saying he got a lot of valuable tals."

Upon hearing this, Vikram nodded, showing little surprise.

There is still a lot of tal left in that ruin. As long as they dig as hard as they can within three days of the ruin disappearing, it is normal for them to harvest a lot of tal.

However, that’s not what he wanted to talk about; rather, it was the issue with the ruins themselves.

"Didn’t Director Aditya tell you anything else about the ruins?"

"For example, what kind of strange creatures are in the ruins?" Vikram asked again, straightening up, his brows furrowing slightly.

"No, he only said that the most rewarding thing from that exploration of the ruins was the Aurora Shelter and his King Kong Shelter."

"The other two major shelters either didn’t arrive, or arrived too late, and both have very little supplies left," Anjali said slowly, staring at him.

It seems this girl spends a lot of ti in the group chat. She knows more about the things in the group than anyone else, Vikram thought to himself.

Coming to his senses, he carefully considered her answer; those two short sentences revealed a great deal of information.

First was the Aurora Sanctuary, which rarely appeared in public but was quite famous. This was the first ti he had heard about them from people around him.

However, this matter has little to do with them.

Most importantly, the zombie remains inside the ruins.

Zombies aren’t edible, so after killing all the monsters and collecting the loot, he naturally didn’t take anything with him.

Since Director Aditya has ventured into the ruins to explore, he must have discovered the zombie corpses lying scattered throughout the ruins.

Now that they’ve stopped talking about it, it’s quite intriguing.

Based on how long Vikram had been in the group chat, he felt that Director Aditya was a decent person.

Logically, he should have inford the group mbers about such an important event imdiately.

He discovered the zombies, and hadn’t inford his group mbers because he was acting in secret. Apart from his subordinates, no one knew that he was the biggest beneficiary of the ruins.

Director Aditya openly told the group mbers that hhe was the one who went to explore the ruins.

"Could it be that the deputy group leader also has ulterior motives?" he wondered.

Anjali, who had been ignored for a long ti, reached out and lightly punched him. "Vikram, what did you find out? Tell

quickly, stop keeping

in suspense."

After living in his refuge for so ti, Anjali and Divya also gained a basic understanding of Vikram.

Aside from occasionally showing off verbally, he’s basically the perfect companion for them.

They were neither treated like decorative objects nor made to do hard labor for Vikram. After finishing so simple tasks each day, most of their ti was to rest and warm the bed for him.

Vikram nodded looking at Divya and Anjali, whole Sophia already knew about this, "Actually, I was the one who triggered the strange phenona in the ruins."

"Those people who rushed to the scene after the strange phenona at the ruins picked up the leftovers from my als."

"What????"

Although they had already seen many amazing and valuable items at Vikram’s Territory.

But when he told the two of them about the ruins, they still looked shocked.

For no other reason than that the ruins had only appeared twice in their area.

The fact that every ti a relic appears causes an uproar in the local chat channel shows just how rare and precious it is.

Today, the biggest beneficiaries of one of the ruins are the mbers of their shelter, which is why the two of them are so excited.

"Oh, right, I was also the first one to take the treasures from the first ruin." Seeing that the two of them were so excited before he could finish speaking, Vikram simply revealed everything.

After triggering the Shock passive again, he paused, waiting for the two of them to recover, and was about to continue answering when Divya interrupted him first.

She extended her fair hand, gesturing for him to wait., "You an, the things that Brown Wood Shelter and Aurora Sanctuary and King Kong Shelter are so proud of are things you look down on?"

"Yes," Vikram nodded.

After hearing this, the two were so shocked that they couldn’t even describe it.

"That ans he took all the valuable epic-level resources and left them with a bunch of plaster."

If the other shelters that were scavenging the leftovers following Vikram heard this, they would probably tear him to pieces on the spot.

After saying that, Vikram noticed that the corners of their mouths twitched at the sa ti. He felt that they had already suffered enough stimulation today, so he stopped talking to them about anything else.

He imdiately went to the warehouse, took out several epic-level items, and placed them on the coffee table in front of the sofa.

"Here are these supplies; you’ve seen them before."

The voice rang out again, and the two of them snapped out of their daze and saw this epic item once more.

Everything was explained, and they just felt utterly bored.

But they perked up when he emphasized one of the epic items that resembled a potion.

"This is why I suddenly stood up just now."

The survival platform’s original words were, "To give deceased survivors a different form so they can reappear in the world."

"And this thing." Vikram paused, his expression turning serious again.

"It’s a zombie virus serum."

"It dropped from the ruins where the deputy group leader amassed a lot of tal."

"At the sa ti, the main monsters inside are zombies."

After saying that, Vikram didn’t offer any further explanation.

The survival platform, combined with the information Vikram just provided, is enough to prove many things.

They might not be 100% certain, but they all connected it to the fate of the dead survivors.

"This...this wasteland world is trying to make the dead survivors reappear in the form of zombies?" Even Anjali, who wasn’t very bright, noticed the problem.

Vikram nodded. "If nothing unexpected happens, that should be correct."

At that mont, all two of them felt a chill run through their bodies.

The wasteland not only tornts the living survivors, but also shows no rcy to the dead.

They didn’t know what this was, but Vikram felt its severity was no less than that of a natural disaster.

The current population is over 3.6 billion, which ans that around 4.4 billion zombies will flood into the wasteland in the future.

Even worse, the land area of the wasteland is shrinking due to the decrease in population.

They could already foresee that in the future, when they went out, they would not only have to be wary of zombie attacks, but also be more careful of other survivors.

Vikram didn’t know how the overall land area had shrunk, but his expression grew increasingly serious.

The real challenge is coming; the extre cold ahead seems like child’s play, nothing to worry about.

Just as his brows furrowed and his expression shifted, he felt a soft hand squeeze through his clenched fist.

Looking down, he was shocked to see Divya’s hand, her two hands tightly clasped together with her left hand.

When he looked up at Divya, he was t with a pair of gentle and comforting eyes.

"Vikram, don’t worry, we have everything we need in our shelter."

"I believe no one can do better than you. When the zombies co, if even our shelter can’t hold out, no one else in the wasteland will survive."

"Besides, worrying is useless. The wasteland world won’t pity us. All we can do now is work hard to build a shelter, right?"

"Yeah, yeah, but what’s so scary about zombies? At most, they’re just like Crimson creatures."

"I’m really powerful now, little zombies are a piece of cake to ," Anjali chid in.

Upon hearing this, Vikram nodded, and said, "Even you don’t need to feel worried about this, if not so stronger zombies ca, my Druid’s warriors were not just decoration."

After all, he has already fought with so many Zombies, so until soone with a level of Split King appeared here, he was not so worried.

Looking back now, it’s true what they said: just treat zombies as a large number of Crimson creatures.

While he was trying to regroup, the natural disasters were quietly changing.

The most obvious change was the temperature in the shelter; they had almost gotten used to the cold that ca with each temperature change.

This ti, the temperature only dropped by 10 degrees Celsius, but it was not as severe as the previous temperature drops.

And for them, it didn’t bring any change at all.

Maybe the temperature dropped didn’t bring any change to them, but the next mont, the mountain began to shake violently...

The sudden tremor caught the three people standing still off guard.

"No way, is the mountain going to collapse?" Vikram instinctively thought that this was the reason, since they were surrounded by the mountain.

If that’s really the reason, then his losses will be huge.

Gritting his teeth, with a resolute glint in his eyes, he led the three panicked individuals outside from the shelter.

Regardless of the circumstances, even if the mountain really can’t hold on, as long as people are still alive, there will always be a way.

At the foot of the mountain, Vikram, leading his two best friends, tried to get away from the area. Just as he had left a short distance, the tremors abruptly stopped.

Just as he was wondering what caused the earthquake, the scene in the snowstorm left him speechless.

Not far ahead, he saw the plain where he had hunted earlier.

The key point is not the plain itself, but that the plain used to be about half an hour’s walk away, but now Vikram can see it directly in the distance just a few steps from the shelter.
