"Doctor, why can't we operate on it?! It's been vomiting blood, and if we don't do sothing, it'll die!"

The Sheng Snake before him hissed angrily.

Da Vinci released pheromones and simply communicated to the other, "Please stay calm. The patient's Guangna Organ is more than 50% damaged. We need to remove the necrotic part and suture the gap, and we need to ensure it's physiologically stable. Otherwise, whether it's the stress response of the Guangna Organ or physiological contraction, it could lead to surgical failure and further aggravate the injury."

"Currently, we lack anesthetics. Surgery would only make it die faster. At this stage, it needs its will to survive to support it."

The other party was dissatisfied, "Isn't there anything we can do at all! Can't we use so other thod to replace anesthesia, like knocking it out temporarily or blocking its head or sothing!"

"No. Please do not block the passage and waste my pheromones. Next."

The chanical doctor maintained an efficient dical examination state.

The roaring Sheng Snake was soon entangled and taken away by other mbers of its species, and the next patient swam over for examination.

The current round of diagnosis and treatnt concluded.

Da Vinci began inspecting the wards.

Jiao Tou wagged its tail, following behind the wheels of the chanical doctor, and communicated through scent, "Doctor Da Vinci, another two patients have succumbed to their injuries and died."

"Mm."

Da Vinci just turned on the shadowless lamp and checked the wounds and physiological condition of the patients in front of him with his chanical arm.

"At this rate, more Sheng Snakes are going to die."

Jiao Tou's pheromone concentration increased but released more slowly, indicating its fall into depression, "The company you ntioned, that chairman, will he really send the anesthetics?"

"He will."

Da Vinci stood in front of a Sheng Snake patient, using a suction device to clean pus and secretion from its wound. "Mr. Red Kestrel had ntioned that the company is gathering funds to purchase the dicine as quickly as possible."

"But there are now 204 patients needing surgery! The number of injured is still increasing!"

Jiao Tou straightened its neck to look out of the window hole, sowhat despondent.

Da Vinci rotated his omnidirectional wheels, his sensors also facing in the sa direction.

Over the Dead Sea was a giant hemisphere emitting a blue and white light stream, like a small Sun plunging into the sea level.

Two days ago, a high-intensity Light Burst had occurred over the Dead Sea, with Snake Island being the first to bear the brunt. The first wave of the impact caused 4 Sheng Snakes to die on the spot and 62 Sheng Snakes to be severely injured and fall unconscious.

Fortunately, this architectural life allowed both the patients and their doctor inside, which also lessened the impact of the Light Burst on the ward.

The peak of the Light Burst impact had passed, but the high-energy radiation was still continuously causing life decay, with more Sheng Snakes becoming weak and bleeding.

Most Sheng Snakes chose to stay behind to help the injured of their kind.

Da Vinci did his utmost, conducting ergency surgeries on 11 Sheng Snake patients, tily removing abnormal parts of their Guangna Organs to avoid further bodily harm.

But such treatnt required a large amount of strong anesthetic to stabilize the class-C life, Sheng Snakes, preventing them from struggling and going mad during surgery.

The anesthetics were quickly used up.

Da Vinci had no idea if more dication would be supplied.

Strong anesthetics, a controlled substance, even in the relatively lenient Recursive City, still required a dical professional with proper credentials for registration and purchase, to prevent issues like drug abuse.

Now, they could only rely on the company.

The chairman should have a way.

That young human who had solved his debts had left a profound impression on Da Vinci.

He bought Da Vinci's hundred-year service period but was not in a hurry to cash in on Da Vinci's skills.

Typically, such an employer would open a black clinic, conducting taboo surgeries banned in Recursive City, aiming to quickly recoup the investnt. As a doctor, Da Vinci had heard about such practices.

Yet, the chairman asked him whether he would like to cooperate with a small architectural life on Snake Island to diagnose and treat the local Sheng Snake population and encouraged him to advance in this direction, aiming for the position of Deputy Chief Physician at level B.

He seldom conversed with Da Vinci, and didn't even inquire about the causes of the dical accidents caused by Da Vinci, but he respected his opinions greatly.

Da Vinci didn't know the reason behind it.

But the Red Kestrel had told him a phrase, "Zhou's style is to let professionals do the professional work. You just need to focus on your field, and we'll handle the rest."

As a new employee of the Wasteland Developnt Company, Da Vinci was still quite unfamiliar with this organization, and the chairman was even more enigmatic.

But the advantage of uncertainty is that it remains between what might happen and what might not.

Da Vinci never gave up.

Between probabilities and opportunities, he chose the latter.

Perhaps it was because he had taken too long to walk from the Dead Sea to the land, causing him to be sowhat affected by the radiation. However, it was also for this reason that he was alive and not immobile in the unknown, waiting for good fortune.

"Doctor."

Jiao Tou released pheromones, "Why did you choose to stay initially?"

Da Vinci turned his sensors towards it.

When Jiao Tou was young, a long nail was driven into its upper jaw, propping up from the upper half of its mouth like a little horn, which is why it got the na Jiao Tou. However, now it had grown into its skull, making it difficult to remove.

Among the many Sheng Snakes, Jiao Tou volunteered to be Da Vinci's assistant, wanting to help solve the injury problems of its species.

"I am a doctor."

Da Vinci said, "I stay with my patients."

"…"

Jiao Tou spoke, "But even our own people from the island have run away a lot. Previously, there were more than 700 Sheng Snakes on this Floating Island. After the incident, there are less than 400 left. Those guys all ran. I bet, once things return to normal here, they'll just co back as if nothing happened."

Da Vinci did not comnt on the social relations within the Sheng Snake population.

It was just a doctor.

Da Vinci suddenly raised the sensor and pointed it at the sky.

Because it had received the latest news.

"We have arrived with the dicine."

Almost imdiately as the ssage arrived, Da Vinci observed two shadows in the sky, one of which was a giant floral Hunter and the other a much smaller drone.

The Hunter had landed and imdiately caused panic and disturbance among the Sheng Snake group.

The ones left on the island were the wounded who were difficult to fight, facing a Class B predator that was enormously stressful, and they were simply unable to resist.

After repeatedly calming them, Da Vinci managed to stabilize them slightly.

"Who cares to eat you when you're all bleeding and bulging, it's disgusting just to look at you."

Lie Hai muttered, then said to Da Vinci, "Doctor, the chairman asked to deliver the dicine to you."

"Recursive City is too far, so we went to the nearer Chuneng City. Fortunately, our company has a high credit rating, and Chuneng City sold us 40 doses of anesthetic through special simplified procedures. But this number is already the limit of routine dication for a year, and we couldn't get any more."

Da Vinci was greatly excited, "That's wonderful, the patients are saved!"

The Red Kestrel added, "However, considering the shortage of 200 doses you ntioned, the chairman also allocated a batch of Monster Attraction Mushrooms from his territory. It is a natural anesthetic that can help keep the users emotionally stable, use it if you can."

"We will be flying to Recursive City again soon, but the latest news from there is that the sea lord nearby is at war, causing a blockade around, and we might have to take a long detour. We will co as soon as possible."

After delivering their aid, the two reinforcents took off and left.

Da Vinci imdiately switched to work mode, "Jiao Tou, prepare for surgery."

"Yes, yes!"

The previously bewildered Sheng Snake assistant suddenly beca excited.

...

After operating at high speed for 26 hours, Da Vinci stopped for a brief rest. It needed to cool down its overloaded motor, check and calibrate the stability of its chanical arm, and sterilize the dical instrunts with high temperatures.

Jiao Tou, no longer demoralized as before, said very happily, "Doctor, that dicine from your company is so peculiar! It not only calms and soothes the injured, preventing them from being irritable due to pain, but also makes them more rational than ever."

"This is much better than those re unconscious anesthetics! It's truly a miracle dicine!"

Da Vinci was left speechless.

This replenishnt included 40 doses of anesthetic, but they were not strong, and the effects were only a third as powerful, sufficient for just 13 patients.

Faced with the scarcity of dicine, it had no choice but to try the natural dication.

Da Vinci perford so basic drug analysis and confird that Monster Attraction Mushroom indeed had similar components and effects to anesthetics. To save so of the patients in severely deteriorated conditions, it decided to take a risk and prioritize keeping them alive before considering the potential side effects.

The results exceeded its expectations.

The mushroom was quite effective, but its effects were excessively profound.

It not only had no hallucinogenic effects but it also blocked physiological impacts that allowed the users to remain extrely rational and clear-headed for a short period.

The usually irritable and aggressive Sheng Snakes, under the influence of Monster Attraction Mushroom, acted almost like electrochanical life, controlling their emotions well and engaging in extensive thinking during that period.

They discussed with Da Vinci the social status of Snake Island, their own deficiencies, and the exploration of the future destiny of the Sheng Snake group.

This was beyond what anesthetics could achieve.

It was like the "Philosopher's dicine" hypothesized in dicine, able to form a positive calming effect on ntal consciousness!

Da Vinci sent twelve ssages to the Red Kestrel, inquiring about more details of the Monster Attraction Mushroom.

However, all of them fell on deaf ears.

Da Vinci was filled with random thoughts.

It could only focus on the surgery, using manic work to relieve its curiosity and thirst for knowledge.

7 hours later.

The Red Kestrel finally replied.

—I just saw it, we are in the war zone, and information was blocked.

—I don't know about the situation you described.

—The chairman is preparing to package this batch of Monster Attraction Mushroom and try to sell it externally like tobacco or alcohol. Glad that it's useful for you.

Da Vinci was astounded.

This unheard-of natural dicine was going to have a trendous impact on the dical field!

It quickly sent a dozen more ssages, emphasizing that it could be a groundbreaking new dicine of imnse significance, and advised not to sell these mushrooms.

Da Vinci rolled back and forth on its wheels restlessly.

On the other hand, using Monster Attraction Mushroom as a natural anesthetic allowed it to tily complete surgery on every Sheng Snake patient, achieving a success rate of 99%. Only one Sheng Snake, due to a large tumor in the brain and complications during the implantation of the Guangna Organ, died.

Though the Sheng Snakes were still weak and their bodies were compromised to varying extents, their lives were no longer in danger.

The patients had all fallen into a quiet rest.

Only Da Vinci was still anxiously waiting for a reply from the company.

What's happening?

Why haven't they responded?

Didn't they see it?

Or did they think I was being annoying by sending too many ssages?

Da Vinci kept refreshing its reception program.
