Jade City was flying steadily in the stratosphere.

5 hours later.

A piece of land erged amidst the fog-enshrouded Dead Sea.

The flying Alien began to descend.

Through the landing window, Zhou Yi looked towards the city on the ground.

Red Kestrel introduced: "Recursive City is a young, small city, established 114 years ago. Its pillar industry is the service provided to the outside, and there are also so goods from other cities being sold here."

"The main chanical capabilities here include equipnt installation, maintenance and repair, and partaking in the testing and debugging of so new facilities. Recursive City also offers a variety of professional services to Human Cities, including sewer construction and maintenance, safety collaboration, rescue teams, building engineering design, asset managent, various information services, and so on."

Zhou Yi said, "To put it simply, it's service outsourcing."

"Yes."

"Then we've co to the right place for our promotional recruitnt."

"That's also true."

However, Red Kestrel reminded, "But Zhou, this is after all just a small chanical City with not many people, and there are few high-level Professionals. Recruiting here, we are likely to only find those with basic skills."

"That's enough."

Zhou Yi said.

Jade City slowly landed on the ground, stirring up a small shock wave.

Zhou Yi descended from the elevator, and outside, a chanical being was already waiting.

"Welco to Recursive City."

"I am Sigma from the Program Departnt of this city, responsible for liaising with your company, and I will be hosting your visit throughout."

Sigma was a small go-kart, black and yellow in color, with the English lettering "SODI" on its body, and two spherical electronic eyes on its hood.

Zhou Yi also waved in greeting: "Hello, Sigma, take straight to the labor market, please."

"Of course. Mr. Zhou, please get on."

Zhou Yi climbed onto the go-kart.

So it made a nimble turn and headed into the city.

Red Kestrel followed by flying.

Recursive City was built on the ruins of an Old Human City.

The shattered steel and concrete had been repaired and rebuilt, covered by nurous pipes, valves, cables, and tal plates, making it look both new and old.

If Coral Port was about hefty and ostentatious planning, then Recursive City was more about patching things up based on the original environnt.

Riding the go-kart on the streets, Zhou Yi saw many chanical lives working along the way. They were mostly smaller in size, with many tal patches on their bodies, indicating that the economic situation was not very good.

The road itself was quite narrow, with many cracks, so parts repaired, but more areas maintained their fissured and worn state.

The labor market was transford from a farrs market, with individual stalls.

The job-seeking chanical beings sat atop their stalls, each with a reinforced glass panel in front, displaying their professions and basic personal information.

Zhou Yi was shocked by this blunt vegetable-market style display.

He couldn't help but ask: "Sigma, doesn't this design of the labor market make the Professionals feel uncomfortable or hurt their self-esteem?"

"Mr. Zhou, we do not possess those superfluous emotions, so this is not a problem."

The go-kart answered, "Although the display here seems simple, it is enough to achieve the purpose, and there is no need for wasteful additional construction costs."

"Even so, these 50 positions need to be scheduled to obtain."

"Besides being displayed face-to-face here, we also post daily information on the 50 job seekers on the city page and make recomndations through chanic Tower services."

Zhou Yi imdiately understood.

This was actually a traffic-swayed recomndation.

He began the talent search accompanied by Sigma.

There were many Agricultural Machinery in the labor market stalls.

Just as Tie Ma said, the agricultural machinery sector was in decline these days, especially small and dium-sized machinery, with many being unemployed or on the verge of unemploynt.

Zhou Yi's gaze stopped at one of the stalls.

Three agricultural machines were parked here.

The electronic screen showed they were a team, belonging to a brand called Leiwo, uniform in blue.

The three mbers were "Ou Bao M3004-7N" four-wheel-drive tractor, "Grain Spirit GE80S-H" wheat machine, and "RG80 Jin Gang II" tracked soybean machine.

The introduction stated they specialized in plowing, planting, and harvesting, applicable to crops such as wheat, soybeans, rapeseed, and sugar beets, all with over 15 years of work experience, but only accepting team-based employnt.

What Zhou Yi found hard to understand was that the team was quoting a long-term contract of 100 Light Seeds for 3 years.

Calculated, the average annual salary was just over 11 Light Seeds, which was even lower than the Agricultural Machinery Brothers.

Zhou Yi asked Sigma in a low voice, "Is the agricultural machinery market really that bad now?"

"Yes, Mr. Zhou."

Sigma did not avoid the topic: "The agricultural market conditions are worsening further, and more cities are opting for cheap labor to replace agricultural machinery to reduce expenses. After calculations and assistance from the Program Departnt, the agricultural machines also had to lower their wages to fight for jobs."

Agricultural machinery salaries were very low, but they had requirents for support, and the costs of fertilizers and seeds could not be reduced. They also had strict standards for soil quality. In addition to preventing being cheated, they avoided cities with low credit ratings, so their employnt prospects were narrowing.

Zhou Yi checked, and these three did have clean records; they just had short yearly contracts in the past, mostly with Human Cities.

They were ditched for contract renewal, so they grouped together seeking a long-term contract to avoid laying the groundwork laboriously, only to be kicked out later.

Zhou Yi approached the Leiwo Team's stall.

He looked at the leading tractor: "Hello. Ou Bao, you're the captain of this team, right?"

The blue tractor was nearly 6 ters long, 4 ters wide, and just over 3 ters tall, sturdy in build, with plenty of wear and scrapes on its shell. Not just it, the other two machines also showed signs of wear.

"Yes."

Ou Bao spoke in a surprisingly loud voice: "Are you Mr. Zhou from Wasteland Developnt Company?"

Zhou Yi was curious, "Do you know ?"

"Of course, you are now a big shot."

Ou Bao was better at communication than the Agricultural Machinery Brothers.

"I saw the deeds of the Wasteland Developnt Company on the city's page, and you are also an important partner for our city. The alien flight last winter and the bombing deterrence over the Shuanghe Region, I think the citizens of Recursive City have all paid attention to it."

Zhou Yi smiled, "I want to hire your team. Are you interested in working in our company's agricultural departnt?"

"It would be an honor."

After a brief exchange, they imdiately signed an electronic agreent.

Then Zhou Yi let the Red Kestrel transfer so information, introducing the current state of agriculture in the company.

Ou Bao said, "Two agricultural machines have already created suitable farming environnts before, we will cooperate well with them, take care of the new farmland cultivation, as well as planting and harvesting work, please rest assured."

Zhou Yi nodded, "You seem to be in a not-so-great condition physically?"

The agricultural machinery team leader said, "Our basic functions have no problems, it's just so minor flaws. For example, my engine oil is sticky, Valley God's taillight is damaged and cannot be used, and Jin Gang's tracks also have a little problem."

Zhou Yi imdiately told them, "All of you go get repaired first, whatever needs changing or fixing, the company will reimburse you for these maintenance and dical expenses."

"After everything is done, bring the list to Jade City outside of the city, and I will reimburse you."

Ou Bao was stunned for a mont, "Really?"

"Of course."

The other side hesitated.

Zhou Yi knew that they were still uncertain because this was just a verbal promise by him.

He directly took out the Guangna Box, asked Red Kestrel, and then gave them 50 Light Seeds.

"Return any excess, make up for any shortfall, go ahead."

"…Thank you very much!"

The eyes of the agricultural machinery team leader lit up imdiately, "We will not misuse this fund, we will only use it for repairing our essential parts, the list is verifiable, please be assured."

Zhou Yi had no doubts.

chanical life forms, because of their chanisms, are all very rule-abiding.

Besides, this also served as a small promotion for other job seekers.

The agricultural machinery team imdiately left the booth and headed outside.

...

The Agricultural Departnt's manpower needs were fulfilled.

Zhou Yi continued to look at other chanical life forms.

Because of his previous actions, many chanical life forms began to actively promote themselves.

"Mr. Zhou, I am an agricultural machine with 12 years of experience…"

"Mr. Zhou, I specialize in pipe repairs, especially sewage systems…"

"Mr. Zhou, I can repair roads…"

...

After so observation and communication, Zhou Yi realized that there were reasons why they couldn't find work.

Besides the agricultural machines, the rest were jobs like city housekeepers, asset managent, sewage maintenance, building engineers... none of which fit the current needs of the Wasteland era.

Most were niche industries of this era with very small demand and very specialized.

Just as Zhou Yi was about to leave, he suddenly noticed a silent job seeker in the corner.

This one looked like an old-fashioned bookshelf speaker.

Was it specialized in music?

Zhou Yi was instantly intrigued.

Mic Master might be able to cooperate with it or react to it, achieving an advancent in the music field.

The screen in front of the booth displayed.

This speaker nad 'Diamond 9.1' was mostly made of wooden materials, with one speaker on the top and bottom, and four universal wheels at the base.

It stayed quietly in its place.

This chanical life form wasn't in the music field. On its personal profile, the job title was 'Teacher', with an impressive 210 years of work experience, truly an old teacher.

Zhou Yi was puzzled, "Could this Diamond be unemployed?"

Sigma next to him said, "Diamond taught language and history and was forrly a C-class teacher. However, due to a virus program infection, it suffered a massive data loss and had to start from scratch... Due to various reasons, it has now fallen to E-class."

"The chanical society develops rapidly, and much knowledge is created into information flows that can be purchased and acquired through city pages, including the advanced ones from Snow County's Wisdom Cloud... There is no longer a need for traditional teachers, only experts are unaffected."

"However, the biggest impact and damage on it was that virus program, which caused its originally unique voice to beco muddled and dull. This irreversible damage also made it difficult for it to advance."

"In addition, Diamond has not installed the machine stack services and insists on old-fashioned physical connections, hence has less frequent data updates."

"Fortunately, it belongs to the old-style chanical life, its structure isn't complex, and its consumption is also low. Occasionally, so erging cities hire it, but its price is not cheap, with an annual salary demand of 100 Light Seeds, so there are very few who hire it."

Zhou Yi frowned, "A virus program... what is that?"

Sigma said, "All these events happened before it ca to Recursive City, and our data records are also not complete."

Zhou Yi approached this quiet chanical teacher.

"Hello, Diamond, are you interested in joining the Wasteland Developnt Company?"

The response was a sowhat dull zzo-soprano voice.

"Do you need to teach language and history?"

"Yes."

"But I only teach the real history that has not been tampered with, can you accept that?"

Zhou Yi's eyebrows raised slightly.

"Let's hear it."
