Southwest direction of the villa district.

As the riverfront positions were covered by the artillery of the Dawn Army, the multinational forces had to adjust their attack direction, and this area is now the main attack point for the multinational infantry.

It’s not only the main attack point but also the main defense location for the Dawn Army.

The three battalions of the First Field Corps are stationed here, personally led by Colonel Wang Hu.

The First Field Corps has been with Ye Fan for the longest ti, and all mbers are elite Three-Star Soldiers.

Three-Star Soldiers, even as privates, have marksmanship that qualifies them to be called Sharpshooters nowadays.

If this were an offensive battle, casualties would be heavy, but in defensive combat, these sharpshooters are incredibly effective.

The soldiers are hidden within each villa, on rooftops, in bushes, and behind walls.

Commanders coordinate with each other through communication officers, and everyone has their own designated defensive area.

Whenever enemy soldiers show themselves, they are imdiately t with lethal attacks.

A series of precise shots often take down the enemy’s soldiers with high probability.

anwhile, the ragtag ard forces of the multinational troops can only fire wildly, with predictably poor accuracy.

Both sides are engaged in a completely unequal exchange of fire, and the multinational forces are especially restless, eagerly trying to break through, particularly after their armor units have fallen into a disadvantage.

Capturing Ye Fan alive is the only way to end this battle; otherwise, they are likely to fail.

This mindset forces them into fierce charges, but from the perspective of the Dawn Army, these charges are nothing more than suicidal actions.

The greenery within the villa district has beco layered with countless corpses.

The soldiers of the multinational forces have no choice but to advance by stepping on their comrades’ bodies.

The initial waves charged standing up, but now they only dare to crawl forward.

Even crawling doesn’t help much, as the Dawn Army is nearly omnipresent, causing many of them to die along the way.

They attempted various tactics, constantly throwing grenades and Molotov cocktails, hoping to lure the Dawn Army out of the villa district to engage.

But the Dawn Army doesn’t fall for it; without orders from the officers, not a single person acts recklessly.

Snipers lurk in high places, specializing in taking out multinational forces’ officers.

Whenever an officer appears, they beco a marked target for these Three-Star Snipers.

After many officers were sniped, the operations of the multinational forces started having problems.

Orders from above couldn’t be relayed to the lower levels, and feedback from the grassroots couldn’t make it up the chain of command.

Nearing twenty thousand troops, facing just two thousand of the Dawn Army, and they still couldn’t force them out.

......

Command post at the rear of the multinational forces.

Since the destruction of the artillery positions, to prevent further artillery attacks from the Dawn Army, Jas moved the command post back, directly retreating to the headquarters of the multinational conference.

Here, he is far enough from the front line, over fifty kiloters away, essentially out of artillery range.

Yet even here, his mood remains extraordinarily grim.

The reports from the front line have already filled him with dread.

The first naval fleet was annihilated!

The second naval fleet is fiercely battling the Dawn Army, and they sohow possess two battleships!

Not only do they have two battleships, but there’s even a shipyard on the beach behind Ye Fan’s villa.

Such significant intelligence, and they were completely clueless!

Just like not knowing when the railroad bridge was repaired, Jas felt nothing but contempt for his intelligence departnt.

The destruction of the artillery positions allowed the Dawn Army’s trains to co onto the island.

The positions of Rakshasa Country were bombarded by naval fire; gaps have already appeared in their lines.

The armored forces are intensely fighting the Dawn Army, and the current situation is stalemated but already turning unfavorable.

Initial reports from the armored units frequently claid the destruction of many Dawn Army tanks, but rear scouts found it far from true.

Across the streets and the neighborhoods, smoking immobilized tanks turned to scrap tal were mostly from the multinational side, with hardly any from the Dawn Army.

He truly had no idea when his forces had beco so inept.

"Report~~~~!"

A ssenger ca rushing in, stumbling as he did.

"Chairman, bad news, the Dawn Army has breached Rakshasa Country’s blockade and has approached the central area of the island!"

"What!"

Jas stood up instantly, sweat pouring down his head.

He knew once again that his planning had failed.

In an attempt to quickly take the villa district, he had practically dispatched all troops at his disposal.

Yet, the defensive force of the Dawn Army resisted tenaciously, and the villa district seed like a giant at grinder, sending waves of troops charging in full of vigor, only to return as a bunch of defeated remnants.

Heavy infantry casualties occurred in efforts to capture the villa district, yet it still couldn’t be taken.

Jas’s main focus was here, sowhat overlooking the situation on the Rashana side.

In his view, even if the Rakshasa were hit by ship artillery, they still had quite a bit of remaining force. With the Dawn Army’s main forces being held up, how could they possibly be defeated?

He grabbed the communicator’s collar: "Are you telling the truth? Do you know the consequences of false military reports?"

"Mr. Speaker, I wouldn’t dare report false information. A battalion of the Dawn Army, in cooperation with their naval special forces, wiped out the remaining soldiers of the Rakshasa. They advanced all along the river highway. Our troops are on the front line and simply can’t hold them off!"

"What about the frontline troops? Did they break through the Dawn Army’s villa area defenses?"

"Not... not yet. The frontline fighting is extrely brutal. We’ve lost over six thousand people and still haven’t taken a step into the villa area. Soldiers from many countries are weary with battle; both the Curry Country and Philippines have already withdrawn."

"Useless! All of them are useless! Over six thousand people lost already? They’re pigs! Pigs are a hundred tis smarter than them! Even six thousand pigs wouldn’t be killed by the Dawn Army this fast!"

Jas was furious. The frontline couldn’t break through; the armored troops couldn’t break through. What was he supposed to do?

"What about the navy? Did they sink the Dawn Army’s battleship?"

"Almost... ."

"What do you an by ’almost’? Don’t be vague."

"Almost annihilated. The navy reported that the Dawn Army’s battleship couldn’t be sunk. It looked seriously damaged but soon got better again."

"You son of a...!"

Jas kicked the communicator far away. What audacity—to conceal his incompetence with such nonsense.

He panted heavily, not knowing what to do.

Fortunately, a Zijing Country council mber issued an order for the guard to go out and intercept the approaching Dawn Army.

After a while, more bad news arrived.

"Mr. Speaker, the armored troops... have been defeated."

"How were they defeated? To what extent?"

"Total annihilation, defeating... seemingly less than ten enemy tanks."

Jas couldn’t help but laugh: "Good! Really good, five hundred tanks, a frontal encounter battle, completely annihilated with enemy losses in single digits. What kind of garbage are we paying to keep?"

This complaint was unfinished when another ssage arrived.

"Mr. Speaker, the navy fleet was defeated. Eight small ships managed to escape, while two Dawn Army battleships are circling both sides of the islands, preparing to block the west Jiangkou. Please make a decision quickly!"

Jas felt numb, "Two fleets, nearly eighty warships, can’t beat two enemy battleships. I don’t know the point of our military."

He lanted his fate while the council mbers urged him on.

Before he could be convinced, another ssage arrived.

"Mr. Speaker, it’s bad news. The Dawn Army’s armored division joined the frontline fight, counterattacking in the villa area. Our lines are collapsing! Troops from all countries are retreating to the island’s central part!"

Jas stood up angrily: "What the hell is going on? When did the Qin Han People’s fighting power beco so strong? Does Ye Fan have three heads and six arms? I refuse to believe our brave White Eagle Country warriors can’t defeat the Dawn Army! Gather all available forces and fight them!"

As Jas shouted, gunfire started to sound closer outside the window.

A Zijing Country council mber asked in horror: "Why are the gunshots so close?"

"Reporting, a battalion of the Dawn Army and marine corps defeated our parliant guard’s interception, now only a few kiloters from headquarters!"

Jas tried to say sothing, but an aide stopped him.

"Mr. Speaker, there’s a saying among the Qin Han People: ’As long as the green hills are left, one needn’t worry about firewood.’ Clearly, we can’t compete with the Dawn Army now. We must leave quickly."

"Leave, where to?" Jas was bewildered.

The person next to him promptly said, "Of course to Jiangzhou. Zheng Jinnan has always been friendly to us. We need to go to Jiangzhou to establish an exile governnt, rally our holand for support, which gives us a glimr of hope."

Jas regained his senses: "Right, we must leave quickly, we can’t stay here."

A group of council mbers began leaving the headquarters building, heading to the door to board vehicles.

As soon as they got in cars and rushed to the docks, they hoped to make it alive to Jiangzhou.

But unexpectedly, the Dawn Army ca too quickly.

No, it was a group of foreigners driving jeeps who suddenly arrived from the west, catching everyone off guard.

Dense firefighting swept through, a batch of parliantary guard soldiers fell.

Even so council mbers didn’t escape in ti, lying in pools of blood.

At this mont, the entire parliant collapsed.

Those who could escape desperately ran, and those who couldn’t simply knelt down with hands over their heads, surrendering.

Jas, protected by many, barely managed to get into a car, fleeing on a frenzied drive, with subordinates getting out along the way to block pursuit, finally reaching the dock.

A sea plane was docked here, and Jas, with a few close aides, boarded it. The plane imdiately took off, braving the wind and rain, risking all to ascend.

Jas looked down from the plane, all his subordinates fell in pools of blood.

And two massive Dawn Army battleships appeared from two directions.

Jas’ eyes turned red at that mont.

"Ye Fan! You’re ruthless!"

"I lost this ti, but you’ve stirred big trouble too. Prepare to face the wrath of many nations!"
