The silver aura around her ford into what could only be described as a treasure trove of weapons that spun and picked up montum around her, eventually flying towards the cornered man.
There was nowhere to run in this corner of the room, and with various guards coming towards the fight, he had nowhere to escape behind us as well.
"I surrender," He raised his hands. And as I slowly began to get up, still a bit dizzy from the slam, I saw the general reach out her hand toward .
"Tch… thanks…" I muttered, slapping her hand away and standing up myself.
Goddammit… why did it have to appear then… I could have died because of that.
As the man got taken away by an entire flood of guards, I exchanged contacts with the general finally and said goodbye. She seed like she wanted to hang out so more, but after that embarrassnt, I didn't feel like doing anything of the sort.
When I took a step outside the building, I found myself back on the streets of Amlas, breathing in the heavy stench of pollution. I knew it was bad in the middle of the city, but I never got the chance to see the effects just outside of the factories.
To say the least, they were horrifying to witness.
"*sigh*... what to do now… what to do now-"
All of a sudden, a young woman with dark blue hair passed by , and my expression dropped into a cold one. My eyes followed her as she trailed past , and I couldn't help but feel a bit guilty as she didn't even care to look back.
"Haaaaaaa… Alright, whatever," I groaned, catching up to the young woman and grabbing her shoulder.
As soon as she turned around, I witnessed a face I had never seen before in my life, so I was forced to quickly make up an excuse for yet another embarrassnt.
"Oh, sorry about that. I thought you were sobody else."
She just gave a swift nod before turning away, continuing on her walk through these crowded streets. And I just stood there, looking up into the sky with no direction. I was too prideful… that maybe it was just arrogance.
"Hey, are you alright?"
Slowly, I turned my head around to see the general, Azzaroth, standing right behind . She almost seed to look at with pity as I stared up at her.
"No, I'm not alright. My relationship with everybody in my life is so fucked as of now… so, I might as well just keep focusing on myself and my goals," I shrugged, expecting the woman to try and redirect my beliefs.
"Then, let join. If what you say is really true, then we're pretty similar to each other. So, how about it? Can I join you in your escapade to escape relationships with others?" The woman smirked, causing to chuckle lightly.
"You're a dumbass," I smiled.
"But first, before we do anything, you have to tell what you want to use my army for. I don't really care what it's used for, but I'm still intrigued. We're partners now, so you have to tell ."
"I don't think so. When was that a rule?" I continued to smile as we walked down the streets of this gross and sewage-stenched street. The sll only got worse the further we walked down it, forcing to cover my nose.
"Since forever. Now tell before I hand in my resignation letter…."
I didn't feel threatened by her potential blackmail, but I could tell she was the type to continue asking and bugging until I gave in. So, in the end, I let out a long sigh and turned towards a cafe just across the street.
We swerved in between the rushing cars and hoverboarders before making our way into the cafe, finally taking in a fresh breath of air. It was so nice to feel sothing other than thick smog enter your lungs.
"We should have brought masks," Azzaroth coughed while we went up to the front counter.
It was a cozy cafe with very few people, but seeing as how everybody seed relatively happy, I knew we could work with this.
"The boy will have a hot chocolate, and I'll take a coffee with two crears and one sugar," The general imdiately went to pay.
"Wait, no, I want a coffee as well."
"No, it will stunt your growth," she said with full seriousness, causing to almost believe her for a split second. If it wasn't for the barista lightly chuckling under her breath, I would have actually believed her.
"N-No, it won't," I imdiately replied.
The general rolled her eyes before whispering over the counter. She was there for quite a while, but little did she know I could hear her the entire ti. Well, I doubt she was aware of my senses being sharpened to the point I could hear an ant scurrying across the floor.
"Hey, add two crears and three sugars to that black coffee she wants to order."
Azzaroth turned towards with a light smile before looking back at the barista and giving her a slight nod.
"You can't trick ," I smirked while walking to a table right beside the window. It was for two people and two people only.
As soon as we sat down, the sky outside darkened, and the crackling of thunder bellowed from the heavens above. Soon, it was going to rain, so it was a good idea that we ca in here before people began to flood in.
"Alright, so are you gonna keep blue-balling , or are you gonna tell ?" The woman asked, leaning forward intently.
"Can you create a space where people can't hear us?"
"Already did, little boy. Now tell ," She leaned in even further, this ti her nose about to scrape mine.
I quickly backed my head away before opening my mouth yet again. I felt like I could gain sothing more out of this conversation, so I first opened up with a deal.
"Give sothing, and in return, I'll tell you every single detail, not just what I want to do."
