If these Saiban seeds truly could not be replanted ike before, then the batch of Saiyan Saibans Axis possessed, those capable of wielding Ki, would beco a limited resource.

At this point, Axis had to consider the problem of the Saibans' lifespan.

Otherwise, he feared that the seeds might be exhausted before he even got to use them all.

Axis walked up and gently touched the budding flower of the Saiban. He could feel the saibaman reaching out to him.

Hidden within were hundreds of packed seeds, he could expect to harvest several hundred seeds this ti.

"If they end up having no Ki and only that fusion ability, we can find them so unique genes for them to fuse with. But that would basically turn them into an army of pure xenos. We'd better not let anyone see them," Kasha said.

"Not a bad idea, really," Axis nodded.

Adding the genes of other creatures to the siban wasn't out of the question, in fact, Axis was already thinking of setting his howorld on Catachan soday!

To others, it was a lethal death world.

But to Saiyans, it would be paradise.

The population was small, but the recruitnt pool was top-notch.

Everyone knew about Catachan's monsters, word was that so Sergeant Marbo could punch out four gods with one hand.

"We can experint more later. Maybe in the future, you could even try adding the blood of the Perpetuals, to see if your Saibans can beco perpetual too," Kasha said.

Axis nodded, "These seeds probably need a few more days to mature. I'll leave them to you, take care of them," Axis replied.

Kasha nodded and pecked Axis on the lips as he left.

What she really wanted to ask was whether she should use so of her old man's blood to cultivate a batch of Saibans.

But that might be tough.

Maybe she could just swipe a little of her old man's blood on the sly. At this mont, Kasha was already thinking of all kinds of devious thods.

Axis soon reunited with Russ, then took a shuttle over to Lion El'Jonson's flagship, the Invincible Reason.

After eting the Lion, they wasted no ti.

They headed straight for the underground laboratory, where the floor was covered in rich black soil.

There were several barrels of nutrient solution and a gene-seed provided by the Lion himself.

Compared to the gene-seed of Russ or Magnus, the Lion's seed was superior. The amount of Warp-taint was so small it was practically negligible!

Still, Axis could sense a faint trace of the Warp lingering, so he washed the gene-seed with his own Ki.

After a few minutes, he had completely purified any bits of taint attached to the gene-seed, leaving behind a perfect gene-seed.

"So this is your so-called 'perfect gene-seed'? I don't feel much difference, the purenss feels neglidgibe" the Lion comnted.

"You'll understand the full picture once you use this on a new recruit, the benefits are more than you can imagine.

"When this special gene-descendant is fully grown, he'll be invaluable for evolving your gene-seed stock," Russ explained.

No wonder the Lion's gene-seed showed absolutely no mutations, it made sense that his Legion remained the strongest even before the Primarchs returned.

Gene-seed stability was everything.

The Lion nodded thoughtfully.

This perfect gene-seed really did feel a bit purer. .

Axis poured the purified gene-seed in the soil, then carefully placed a Saiyan Saiban seed above it, covered it with more black soil, and poured on so nutrient solution. He even had the Lion add a few drops of his own blood.

Finally, Axis used his Ki to stimulate the seed.

Several hours later, a special Saiban successfully hatched.

Standing before the group was a figure who looked about eighty percent like Lion El'Jonson, with yellowish skin, bald, and slightly pointed ears.

This newly created Saiban was incredibly muscular, standing around 2.4 ters tall, with explosive muscles all over his body. It was half a head taller than most Space Marines.

"Father!" The special Saiban stepped in front of the Lion and knelt on one knee.

At the sa ti, Axis established a psychic link with the special Saiban, giving himself full command authority.

Lion stared in disbelief at the figure before him.

He had expected a monster, but what had erged was unmistakably a human!

Strictly speaking, this wasn't even an abhuman.

By Imperial law, he would be considered fully human.

The Lion could also sense a faint, inherent connection to this being, the unmistakable bond between a Primarch and his gene-descendant.

"I wasn't lying, was I? He really does look human," Russ said.

"With your gene-seed, he'll even develop all nineteen of the Astartes' superhuman organs!" Russ added.

"It's certainly…remarkable! He really isn't a xenos, and I can feel our connection, he's definitely human!" Lion replied.

There would be no problem showing this gene-descendant to the rest of the Legion. His only oddity was the slightly yellowish skin.

"Father, please give a na," the Saiban asked respectfully.

"You'll be called Lucifer from now on. That's the na of a Dark Angel, taken from ancient Terran myth," Lion declared after a mont of thought.

He had originally considered naming him Gabriel, but after so thought, decided on Lucifer instead.

Standing off to the side, Axis couldn't help but twitch at the choice.

What a na. The legendary fallen angel!

Just like Horus—another famously 'devoted son'! Maybe I should steer him towards becoming a Fallen in the future.

"I express my deepest gratitude, Father," the Saiban said, nodding to Lion.

"You'll serve as my personal guard. You've got Black Carapace, so go and get yourself a suit of Terminator armor," Lion ordered, gesturing for a nearby Dark Angel to take this new brother away.

"Axis, I can tell this special son of mine is incredibly powerful!" Lion said, turning to Axis after Lucifer had left.

"He's extrely strong. If he uses Ki, he could even defeat a Primarch. Even without Ki, his combat ability is on par with a Primarch," Axis replied.

The Astartes version of the Saiban was even stronger than the Dou that had just been planted, with a combat strength approaching 8,000.

Given ti to mature, his power level could easily break 10,000.

These Astartes Saibans could beco stronger through training, though their growth rate was slow and their potential wasn't particularly outstanding.

"You've truly given a wonderful gift! I was just worrying about not having a sparring partner," Lion said excitedly.

Now, with this powerful son, he finally had the ultimate training partner.

"Ïf you can recreate what you did here, then, resolving the troubled of the Astartes Legion wil only be a matter of ti, and I can help you recruit so new blood at that ti. Our Caliban knights are excellent material," Lion offered.

With this son, Lion felt he owed Axis a trendous favor. The command order to lend troops seed aningless by comparison.

The best way to repay the favor, then, would be to supply Axis's new Legion with recruits from Caliban.

"Then I won't stand on ceremony," Axis replied with a grin.

"Fenris can supply you with new recruits, too," Russ added, patting Axis on the shoulder.

After all, Axis's Legion was still a subsidiary force of the Space Wolves!

The three of them chatted for a while longer, discussing strategies for dealing with the Rangda. Eventually, Axis and Russ took their leave.

Over the next few days, Axis's team in busied themselves receiving the Gloriana-class battleship.

The massive vessel could accommodate tens of thousands of warriors, there was plenty of room for everyone from his company.

"A sha. Once you beco a Primarch, you won't be their company commander anymore," Kasha remarked, leaning onto Axis. they were both watching as the Astrated from transport shuttles boarded the Gloriana class Battleship.

"Not necessarily. It's not like the gene-seed can't be swapped out, with Ki, we'll just replace theirs with mine," Axis replied, wrapping an arm around Kasha's shoulders.

"Uh… would Russ agree to that?" Kasha was skeptical.

"I don't think he'd disagree," Axis said, smiling..

In the future, their two Legions would remain closely linked.

Until Axis picked a howorld, most of his Legion's warriors would co from Fenris.

A few days later, Axis's first Saiban had transford into a giant tree, and had finally died.

The massive flower bud burst open, scattering hundreds of Saiban seeds across the ground, while the trunk withered completely.

Axis and Kasha imdiately headed to the laboratory and gathered up the hundreds of Saiban seeds.

"All seeds have been collected. This little fellow's soul is just about to ascend to the Empyrean," Kasha said.

Through her psychic senses, she could see the green soul of the Saiban entering the Immaterium.

This Saiban had reached the end of its life.

Its transparent green soul waved at Kasha and Axis.

Axis seed to think of sothing and imdiately released his own psychic power.
