Because of her busyness, Gu Yan’s face was flushed. When she turned to Tang Yuxiu and smiled, Tang Yuxiu suddenly felt as if sothing gently tapped a spot in his heart, soft and slightly sour.

Gu Yan excitedly waved at him, "I’ve tidied up. Co and have a look."

Tang Yuxiu walked over calmly and glanced around casually. Everything was neatly arranged, and it looked quite pleasing to him.

"Not bad," he comnted.

Gu Yan smiled even more happily, "This will be my territory from now on. Do you want to eat sothing?"

"What, are you hungry again now?"

Gu Yan nodded a little embarrassedly.

Her appetite wasn’t large, but a serving of foie gras wasn’t enough to fill her up. Originally, if it was just her and Tang Yuxiu eating, she would order a dessert and a fruit platter after the foie gras, but since Nie Rong was there, she decided to restrain herself and eat less.

"I asked if you were full, so why did you say you were?"

"With soone else around, how could I show that I’m not full? It would embarrass you."

"You’ve already embarrassed ," Tang Yuxiu exposed rcilessly.

Gu Yan rembered the scene of being elegantly ignored by Nie Rong that evening and scratched her head, "That must be because she has bad eyesight. Even if I’m dressed plainly, I’m still a living person, right? How could she look down on just because I’m dressed simply? People are equal. She’s just born wealthier than ."

She used to be soone born without worries about food and clothes, but then her family suddenly changed, and her father disappeared. It was said that he encountered a tsunami at sea and fell into the ocean. Everyone said he was surely dead. Gu Yan waited for a long ti, and he never ca back, so she gradually accepted this fact.

Soon, her mother also passed away, leaving her with no one to rely on, until she t the Gu Family couple, and she’s been living with them since.

Tang Yuxiu didn’t miss the fleeting nostalgia and pain in her eyes, and his heart seed to be pricked.

"Being born into a certain family always ans so things can’t be changed."

"So what? Starting tomorrow, I will definitely wear the clothes you bought for and dazzle the eyes of those who look down on ordinary people."

"I’m very pleased you have this realization."

Gu Yan raised her head proudly, "You still haven’t answered about whether you want to eat sothing."

"What do you want to make?"

"It’s too late, let’s just make so simple noodles."

Tang Yuxiu considered for a mont, reluctantly nodding, "Make a bowl, but not too much." He’d taste it first.

"Alright, you wait outside. It’ll be ready soon."

Gu Yan pushed him out and started preparing the noodles.

Tang Yuxiu stood at the kitchen door for a while, then returned to the living room to watch financial news on TV.

In the huge villa, there was the voice of the host coming from the LCD TV and the sound of chopping, the fire, and cooking from the kitchen.

Tang Yuxiu suddenly felt a sense of fulfillnt in his heart. The once silent ho now had a lot more life.

And all of this was brought by the little woman busy in the kitchen.

His eyes, which were watching the financial news, gradually turned towards the kitchen.

Gu Yan, wearing an apron, was busy at the counter, enjoying herself.

She seed to be easily satisfied. Often, Tang Yuxiu felt she wasn’t the kind of woman he had imagined.

A person’s expression might lie, but their eyes wouldn’t. Her eyes never showed any concealnt or fluster when exposed.

He suddenly doubted whether his previous assumptions were wrong.
