Gu Yan thought, no matter what happens in this life, she would never forget this deep mory.
She would not forget Tang Yuxiu, the man she loved.
Tang Yuxiu returned late at night.
His footsteps were very light as he first went to the children’s room to check on them, tucked in the blankets they had kicked off, and gently kissed their foreheads before leaving the room.
He returned to his own room, and on the black bed that had been undisturbed for five years, there was a small lump.
After a long day of busyness and fatigue, Tang Yuxiu’s heart felt completely fulfilled and satisfied upon seeing this small lump.
It was all real, not his imagination.
His movents remained gentle; he took his clothes downstairs to shower before coming back up.
He lifted the blanket and slid in, wrapping his arms around Gu Yan’s warm body from behind, holding her in his embrace.
Her body also carried the scent of his shower gel, blending with him as if they were one.
Gu Yan felt soone holding her, instinctively moved, turned over, and slightly opened her eyes.
Seeing it was Tang Yuxiu’s familiar face, she relaxedly closed her eyes again, moving even closer to him, her hand resting on his waist, drowsily saying, "You’re back."
Tang Yuxiu felt warmth at these simple words, and quietly replied, "Yes, I’m back."
"What ti is it?"
"After one o’clock."
"Why so late, are you hungry? There’s food in the fridge, let heat it up for you." Gu Yan spoke with closed eyes, her words still a bit unclear.
Tang Yuxiu stroked her hair, "I’m glad you’re sleeping so soundly but still thinking of , but I’m not hungry. If you’re tired, just sleep."
"Okay..." Gu Yan murmured, and then fell silent.
Tang Yuxiu thought she had fallen asleep again, so he turned off the light and embraced her to sleep.
Suddenly, Gu Yan moved again, muttering out loud, "Tang Yuxiu, after all these years, why are you still waiting for ? I’m so unreliable..."
Tang Yuxiu gently stroked her hair, "Silly, who else would I wait for but you. You’ve co back, proving you were trustworthy after all."
It was as if his soothing words had worked; in the dark, Gu Yan’s slightly furrowed brows relaxed, "Yes, I kept my promise..."
"Sleep peacefully, I’m here."
And then, Gu Yan truly fell asleep comfortably in Tang Yuxiu’s arms.
A good night’s sleep.
The next day, Gu Yan’s body clock woke her up at six.
She opened her eyes and, seeing the man in front of her, was slightly stunned, then smiled contentedly.
This wonderful feeling of waking up in the morning and imdiately seeing the person she loved most was truly amazing.
She couldn’t rember when he ca back yesterday, but she supposed it must have been quite late.
Without disturbing him, she gently retreated from his embrace, got out of bed, and washed up.
When she ca out, Tang Yuxiu was still sleeping soundly.
Without waking him, she went out the door; Gu Xiaobao and Gu Xiaonian hadn’t woken up yet either. She went to the kitchen by herself and made a simple breakfast to eat, then left a note for them and went to work.
Gu Xiaobao and Gu Xiaonian woke up at seven every day. By the ti they got up, Gu Yan had already gone out, but they found Dad in the room.
"Dad, you’re up. Morning."
"Morning. Where’s your mommy?"
"Mommy left us a note; she went to work and told us to heat up the food in the fridge for breakfast, or have you take us out to eat."
"Alright, wait for downstairs, I’ll be right down."
"Okay."
The two children obediently went downstairs, and Tang Yuxiu got up, sat on the bed, rembering sleeping with her arms around him last night, and unconsciously smiled.
Downstairs, the two kids were already lying on the dining table waiting for him.
"Dad, heat up last night’s food and eat with us. Mommy helped us make it, put a lot of thought into it, it’s really delicious."
As Tang Yuxiu walked to the fridge, he asked, "Don’t you normally dislike the food mommy makes?"
"We did before, but not now. Mommy’s food is really tasty now."

"Oh, mommy rembered everything, and her cooking skills skyrocketed." Gu Xiaonian quickly said, while Gu Xiaobao didn’t have enough ti to stop her.
Tang Yuxiu caught the main point in their words; he took a plate out and placed it on the counter, looking at the two kids, "Little Nian, what did you just say?"
"What?" Gu Xiaonian asked back, not realizing what she had just said.
Gu Xiaobao tried to change the subject, "Dad, quickly heat the food, we’re starving."
Gu Xiaonian nodded in agreent, "Yeah yeah, Dad, hurry up."
However, how could Tang Yuxiu be so easily diverted, "Little Bao, you’re too young to change my focus. Did mommy rember everything?"
Before Gu Xiaobao could answer, Gu Xiaonian asked aloud, "Huh, how did you know, Dad?"
Tang Yuxiu, Gu Xiaobao, "..."
Gu Xiaobao silently complained, this silly girl, still unaware of what she’s done at this mont.
Feeling quite tired.
Gu Xiaobao nodded, answering, "Mommy said she rembered everything, slowly recalled it after coming here."
Tang Yuxiu couldn’t help but think of yesterday evening when she called him, the tone and content of her words; he was puzzled at the ti how the amnesiac Gu Yan could care so much about him and even know to threaten him to eat.
When he returned early morning, she leaned in and said those words.
At the ti, he didn’t think deeply about it, as she had previously vaguely rembered the car accident. He rely thought it was that fragnt of mory affecting her and did not consider that she might have rembered everything.
Before hanging up yesterday, she ntioned having sothing to tell him that would likely make him pleasantly surprised. Perhaps it was this matter.
It’s just that he didn’t expect to return late.
Tang Yuxiu quietly cald his emotions, turned on the stove, heated the food, and served it to the kids.
"Dad, join us to eat."
"Okay." Tang Yuxiu smiled and sat down to eat with them.
He took a bite, suddenly feeling a slight twinge of sourness in his heart.
Five years, and he’s finally tasted the food she made herself. This day, truly, was one he had waited for tirelessly.
"We didn’t eat with Dad yesterday, but today we did; it’s so nice."
"From now on, I’ll try to eat with you guys at least once every day."
