Gu Xiaobao heard what Gu Xiaonian said and couldn’t help but snicker, teasing, "Even if soone did like Gu Xiaoyan, with soone as dumb as you around, they’d turn and leave."

Gu Xiaonian imdiately flared up, "Gu Xiaobao, who are you calling dumb!"

"Whoever responds is who I’m talking about."

Gu Xiaonian threw away the controller and lunged at Gu Xiaobao, and the two kids were wrestling on the carpet again.

Gu Yan watched the scene silently, distancing herself with a sigh as she returned to her kitchen.

Born of the sa root, why tornt each other so urgently?

From the sa womb, why must they love and fight like this?

At the dining table, Gu Xiaobao and Gu Xiaonian stretched their chopsticks to snatch the sa piece of at. Gu Yan couldn’t bear it, so she picked up the at and ate it herself.

The Two Treasures pouted and looked at her with discontent, their eyes full of accusation.

"Gu Xiaoyan, you’re bullying kids."

"Which eye of yours saw that?"

"Both eyes saw it!" the Two Treasures said in unison, pointing to their eyes.

Gu Yan sighed, "You know, if you were always this in sync, as if facing a common enemy, that would be ideal. This is what twins should be like."

Upon hearing this, the Two Treasures exchanged a glance, huffed at each other, and turned their heads away.

"I’m the older sister, not so brother!" protested Gu Xiaonian.

Gu Xiaobao snorted, "I was born half an hour earlier, I’m the brother!"

"Only half an hour!"

"Even one minute earlier makes the brother."

Gu Xiaonian, feeling wronged, complained to Gu Xiaoyan, "Gu Xiaoyan, why did you give birth to him first!"

Gu Yan expressed her helplessness; who was born first wasn’t up to her to decide.

"You can ask the heavens, see if they can give you an answer."

"Who are the heavens? Where are they?" asked Gu Xiaonian with a silly innocence.

Gu Xiaoyan and Gu Xiaobao, "..."

Whose kid is this, please take them away!

"Hurry up and eat!" Gu Yan put so vegetables into their bowls.

The two kids looked at the vegetables in their bowls, and imdiately pulled a long face, "Gu Xiaoyan, didn’t we say not to cook for us? Your cooking is really bad, it’ll affect our normal growth."

Gu Xiaoyan, "... Are there kids who dislike their mom this much!"

"Yes!" the Two Treasures nodded in unison.

Gu Yan was inwardly filled with sadness and anger—this wasn’t a role she could continue playing!

"Is it really that bad?" Gu Yan asked uncertainly.

The Two Treasures exchanged a glance, seemingly having a mont of conscience. After so thought, they replied, "Actually, it’s not that bad, just a little off from Uncle’s chef."

"No, it’s many tis off."

Gu Xiaoyan felt quite unbalanced inside.

"You just want to eat out, don’t you? Don’t pretend to dislike my cooking, just saying so hurts my feelings."

Upon hearing this, the two cute ones imdiately put down their chopsticks and scooted over to her side, widening their watery eyes in a pleading manner, "Mommy, does this an we can go out?"

Gu Yan felt utterly helpless. Gu Xiaonian might be Gu Xiaobao’s nesis, but both were her weakness!

"Alright, alright, I give in. Let’s eat out."

"Wow, Gu Xiaoyan is the best!" Gu Xiaonian jumped up cheerfully. Gu Xiaobao smiled happily too and ran back to the room to put on a little vest, looking especially gentleman-like and adorable.

Gu Yan looked at Gu Xiaobao, montarily lost in thought.

For so reason, as Gu Xiaobao grew up, she often found herself spacing out seeing him, as if another shadow flitted through her mind, too fast for her to distinguish between reality and illusion.

"Mommy, let’s go." Gu Xiaonian and Gu Xiaobao each grabbed one of her hands and pulled her to the door.

Gu Yan ca back to her senses and smiled slightly, "Change your shoes, Mommy needs to put on an extra layer too."

The wind in Jiang City blew continuously at night, and it was still a bit cold.

"Hurry up!"

The trio changed into their coats and shoes, and Gu Yan led one by each hand out the door.

"Gu Xiaoyan, can we have a big al?"

"I told you to call Mommy outside!" Gu Yan reminded them and then smiled, "But I don’t mind if you call sister."

The two kids looked at her disdainfully, "Actually, we don’t mind calling you granny either."

Gu Yan, "..."

Who’s the adult here, her or them, why is she always rendered speechless by them?

This mothering thing is getting too tiring, where has their dad gone, ignoring them like this!

Gu Yan felt that her life was just a sorrowful story.

Gu Yan didn’t take them far. They lived in the bustling downtown area, surrounded by famous high-end restaurants.

Gu Xiaobao and Gu Xiaonian debated for a long ti, finally choosing a Chinese restaurant that looked quite elegant.

"This place has a piano player, let’s eat here."

Gu Yan was silent. The reason for choosing a restaurant was really simple.

"Other restaurants have piano players too."

"Oh, well, only here still sounds a bit decent, right, Gu Xiaobao?"

Gu Xiaobao, surprisingly on the sa page as Gu Xiaonian, said, "Yes, but no one plays better than Mommy."

Gu Yan felt very pleased hearing this, "When the piano arrives tomorrow, Mommy will play for you."

"Great! It’s been a while since we’ve heard Mommy play."

The three selected a spot and sat down; the waiter handed them the nu, and Gu Yan let the Two Treasures order, "Order freely, eat as much as you want tonight, but make sure to finish everything you order, okay?"

"Got it!" The two little ones huddled together to discuss which dishes were yummy.

"You guys order, Mommy needs to use the bathroom."

"Go, go." The two kids didn’t even look up, just waved their hands.

Gu Yan raised an eyebrow slightly and got up to go to the bathroom.

The duo poked their fingers at the nu, who knows how many dishes they pointed at before being satisfied.

The waiter took their nu and left, leaving the two little ones bored, waiting for Gu Yan to co back and for the food to arrive.

Gu Xiaobao behaved well outside, sitting up straight after ordering, but Gu Xiaonian couldn’t sit still, her eyes darting around, curious about everything.

Gu Xiaobao remained composed, wanting to stay far away from her.

"Looking like you’ve never seen the world before, so embarrassing."

Gu Xiaonian playfully tapped his head, "Gu Xiaobao, how old are you, have you seen more of the world than I have? Little old man, always pretending."

"Hmph!" Gu Xiaobao didn’t want to argue noisily with Gu Xiaonian outside, it would ruin his image as a little gentleman.

Gu Xiaonian had endless contempt for him.

"Excuse , little friends..." a voice ca over, and Gu Xiaonian and Gu Xiaobao looked puzzled at the man who suddenly walked over.

The man had a slick hairstyle and smiled sowhat sinisterly.

Gu Xiaobao subconsciously furrowed his little brows.

Gu Xiaonian loudly asked, "Mister, what do you want?"

"Little friends, is it just the two of you? Where are your parents?"
