Kreyn was the leader of the prisoners and the rebellion. He was the main enemy of the Wurhen Family, so it was logical to assu that he was the strongest among them.
However, this was not the case, and the sole reason for this was Groza.
Sure, she lost to Kreyn in their skirmish, but that was simply her mistake. She underestimated the explosive power of Kreyn’s abilities. She was confused, the technology of another world exceeded all her expectations, but here, in the prison yard, she did not have to fear nuclear missiles, lasers, and hydrogen bombs.
Groza was the leader of her world, the strongest knight in the kingdom, and one of the two Origins. Even before she gained her powers, no one could match her, and unlike Kreyn’s world, where all wars had long since ended, she constantly fought and won. Well, until she encountered Kreyn.
"Go ahead, summon your Catalyst," Groza growled, pointing her sword at rina.
Initially, Kreyn wanted to simply attack rina with all his might and get it over with quickly, but Groza only agreed to a fair fight.
...
Half an hour before the gates opened:
"Will you win?" Kreyn asked, maintaining his sly smirk.
Groza snorted. "Of course. The fact that I lost to you doesn’t an anything. But if you want to do it, then give a proper duel, that’s how I’m used to doing things!"
"Well, well, how did you beco the leader of your world with that attitude?"
"Tsk. You just blew the shit out of my troops and ! I don’t want to hear anything from you!" Groza waved her hand.
Step.
Kreyn stepped forward as he grabbed Groza by the head.
"Yeah, so what? Maybe you forgot that you ca to my world to destroy it? Every soul, take every life, all for a chance to get into the Great Lands?"
Groza gulped. She had no answer. As crazy as Kreyn was, he was right about that.
"But I’m not angry, far from it. Hah, I would have done the sa if the energy had co to my world naturally. What I want from you is for the strongest warrior in your world to act the sa way here."
Kreyn turned away, waving his hand.
"You have conditions? Great, as long as it doesn’t jeopardize the plan, I don’t mind, just do your job."
Groza narrowed her eyes. "You will be the last person I lose to. You can be sure of that."
"Hahaha, I hope so!"
...
rina gulped. She had been through many battles, and she could see that he was a true warrior.
’How could soone like her end up in prison? Shit! I knew we shouldn’t have been grabbing everyone. Even the lowest of the low can beco dangerous with the Epos...’
rina had nowhere to retreat as two purple flashes appeared in her right hand, a short one-handed sword, and in her left, a round shield.
Kreyn raised an eyebrow. ’Oh, the Arx Type against the Arx Type? Hah, I don’t know what her shield is capable of, but her sword is definitely no match for Groza’s.’
The guards and prisoners prepared for battle, each hoping that their side would win.
But...
’Everything has already been decided,’ Daren thought as he lit a cigarette. ’He’s not trying to win, but to test Groza. rina’s fate is already sealed.’
He glanced toward the mine as several blue eyes appeared in the distance. They were already waiting for the opportunity to fulfill their part of the bargain.
Step.
Groza stepped forward when rina raised her shield to defend herself.
Anyone who had participated in many duels understood one thing well: if one of the fighters was even slightly stronger than the other, the fight would not last long.
Crack. Crack. Crack.
Lightning bolts shot out from the tip of the sword as Groza beca raging thunder, destroying everything in her path.
rina’s eyes widened as she held her shield forward. Rapidly growing crystals erged from the bright light, creating a protective barrier in front of her.
It wasn’t enough.
"Agh...?"
rina gasped as she watched the lightning destroy her barrier.
"N-NO!" She exclaid, swinging her sword, but before she could attack, Groza grabbed her wrist, stopping her.
Groza stepped forward, plunging her sword into the ground.
"If you were my subordinate, I would be disappointed in your skills."
BAM!
Groza’s fist sank into rina’s stomach as she folded in two. Before she could even realize what was happening, Groza knocked the sword out of her hands and threw it over her shoulder, slamming rina to the ground.
There was a crunch as rina’s ribs cracked when Groza grabbed her arm.
"Wait, wait, wait!" rina muttered in panic, but Groza was already in motion.
Crack.
She broke rina’s arm, picked up her sword, and with no pity in her eyes, pierced rina’s leg through the ground.
"GRRRHH!!"
Step. Step. Step.
Groza approached her sword and pulled the great weapon out of the ground with one hand.
Everyone understood what was going on, including Laura, who was watching from the sidelines.
"Stop! Stop fighting!" She exclaid, but no one was going to listen to her.
Laura looked around in panic, but no one even looked at her, as if she were invisible.
"Stop right now! I command you!"
"Girl, your word ans nothing here!" One of the prisoners sneered. "If you want sothing, ask the boss!"
Ti was running out as Laura turned to Kreyn.
"Stop the fight! rina lost, everyone knows that! Groza has no reason to kill her!"
"Hah," Kreyn grinned. "She ca here to save you, she fought for you, and now you’re worried about her?"
"B-But!"
"Alright." Kreyn waved his hand. "Groza, stop."
Strangely enough, Groza froze in place, her sword raised above her head, and in the next mont, she would have cut rina in two.
Laura sighed with relief. She wanted to distance herself from her family, but not to watch her family mbers or subordinates die.
"Now what?" Groza glanced at Kreyn.
"Hah, you know."
Kreyn waved his hand.
"Alright, kill all the guards."
Laura’s eyes widened as dozens of prisoners threw their blades at the guards and pounced on them like a pack of wild animals.
"STOP! What are you doing, this isn’t how—!"
She couldn’t finish her sentence as her face turned as pale as a sheet of paper.
At Daren’s gesture, several Stone Crakan Spiders erged from the cave. Strangely enough, they did not attack the prisoners, and no one was afraid of them.
Their goal was simple: to take rina, who was still alive, and bring her to Vaarh.
