363 HE WAS MURDERED
“Let’s go to Dong Lang now.”
That was what Bai Chen said in response to Yu Ming’s question. He did not directly say whether or not he would trust Wu Jinhai again, but the indirect answer was enough for Yu Ming, and that was why the demon smiled slightly after hearing the decision made by the Prince of Dong Lang.
Bai Chen only wanted to save Wu Jinhai this ti. That was the conclusion Yu Ming’s brain ca to. Whether Bai Chen would trust Wu Jinhai again or not was none of his business, and that was why Yu Ming only nodded at Bai Chen before gesturing for Wu Jingguo to get ready.
Wu Jingguo still didn’t look pleased even after hearing Bai Chen’s decision, and he even continued to glare at the Werewolf Prince rcilessly. But Yu Ming then intervened saying that Wu Jingguo should contact Emperor Wu Shun before they departed to Dong Lany, asking the Emperor to send his strongest army to enter Dong Lang today.
Of course, the Crown Prince had his own way of communicating with his father. It wasn’t as fast as the telepathy used by his brother and Yu Ming, but he was sure his father would receive his ssage in less than half an hour.
Yu Ming didn’t seem to care about Wu Jingguo’s self-confidence, nor did he plan to wait for the Emperor’s army before he headed for Dong Lang. Instead, he confidently told Bai Chen and Wu Jingguo that they were going to Dong Lang now.
Wu Jingguo looked surprised, thinking that Yu Ming wanted to wait for the troops first, but it turned out that the fish demon had other ideas in his head. Perhaps the doubt on his face was obvious, and that was why Yu Ming sneered at him before muttering the word “coward.”
No one liked to be called a coward, and that was why Wu Jingguo was challenged by that simple word, and he imdiately agreed with Yu Ming’s idea of rushing to Dong Lang without waiting for his father’s army.
On the other hand, after he voiced his decision, Bai Chen didn’t say anything, nor did he show any objection after hearing Yu Ming’s suggestion. Perhaps he looked like a fool at the mont, but he could only think about how he could save Wu Jinhai as soon as possible, and that was why he had secretly agreed with Yu Ming that they would not have to wait for Emperor Wu Shun’s army to give them support before heading to Dong Lang.
.....
So, the three stallions galloped towards the neighboring empire, but on their way to the border between Dong Lang and Wu Li, they heard so people whispering about the tragedy that had just happened in the district.
The hot topic in the district was how Fan Zedong was murdered last night.
Bai Chen could hear the whispers and could see the frightened expressions on those people’s faces, and he couldn’t hide his shocked expression. Just like last night, his white horse galloped right behind Yu Ming, and his blue eyes were glued to Yu Ming’s back as he couldn’t believe what he had just heard from the commoners.
Perhaps Yu Ming could sense Bai Chen’s questioning gaze, and that was why he glanced back for a mont before saying, “It wasn’t who killed Fan Zedong last night, Prince Bai Chen. Please stop looking at like that.”
In truth, Bai Chen didn’t feel particularly suspicious of Yu Ming, and his gaze only ant that he wanted to know Yu Ming’s opinion of the assassination. But perhaps Yu Ming thought that it would be easy for Bai Chen to doubt anyone after sothing happened, and that was why the fish demon explained himself imdiately.
“I’m sure it wasn’t Yu Ming who killed the old man,” Wu Jingguo suddenly chid in from behind Bai Chen. “The person who killed him must be soone from the Black Werewolf Clan. I believe soone has been keeping an eye on the old man, and after knowing how the old man revealed everything to us last night, that person thought that Fan Zedong no longer had any use for them, and that’s why they decided to kill him.”
Bai Chen carefully listened to Wu Jingguo’s analysis, and he actually had the sa opinion as the Crown Prince. Instead of feeling suspicious of Yu Ming, he was more suspicious that it was soone from the Black Werewolf Clan who had killed that unlucky old man.
Indeed, Bai Chen thought that Fan Zedong was unlucky. Years ago, he too was just a puppet of Shao Yaoting when he deliberately frad his parents which caused many tragedies, and that was why Bai Chen thought that Fan Zedong was also the victim here.
He did think that Fan Zedong was unlucky, but then he realized sothing from Wu Jingguo’s analysis, and he imdiately voiced his thoughts, “If soone was watching Fan Zedong last night, then that person must know about us too, right? Do you think that person is also watching us now, Yu laoban?”
Even if the person who had just voiced his analysis was Wu Jingguo, Bai Chen chose to ask Yu Ming again, and Wu Jingguo rolled his eyes in annoyance. Their relationship still hadn’t improved after their fight back at the inn, and that was why there was still so lingering tension between them.
“That’s possible,” Yu Ming replied. “To be honest, I can feel soone watching us since last night, Prince Bai Chen. I just don’t care about it because it’s just a little fly flying around us.”
Yu Ming continued to ride his horse quietly, and he even smirked after answering Bai Chen’s question. There was no sign of fear on his face, but he was different from Bai Chen who looked pale after hearing Yu Ming’s answer.
He didn’t even feel that soone had been watching them since last night, and that only proved that he was still a weak and useless Werewolf Prince, right? And at this ti, he was about to enter Dong Lang when Dong Lang was under the control of the villains. Was he planning to kill himself a second ti?
