347 THE STRANGE DREAM
“ChenChen... it’s ti for you to wake up. Don’t you want to chat with your mother?”
Bai Chen was sleeping in one of the rooms in the inn not far from Fan Zedong’s residence. He had a short talk with Yu Ming and Wu Jingguo in the forr’s room before, but since it was already so late at night, Yu Ming asked him to rest and say that they would continue the discussion tomorrow.
It wasn’t easy for him to fall asleep, but then he suddenly heard soone waking him up, and that was why he frowned while closing his eyes instead of opening them.
“You really don’t want to see your mother, ChenChen?”
Another question ca to him, and this ti, it wasn’t just a sound disturbing his sleep. The soft palm also caressed his cheek, and he felt a sudden familiarity with the touch.

“No, Bai Chen. You should wake up after I finish talking to you,” as if she could read what was on his mind, the woman spoke again. “This is your dream, Bai Chen. That’s why you can’t stay in this dream forever, and you have to wake up after this.”
Bai Chen was confused. When he shifted his gaze to look around him, he could see that he was still in a room at the inn, so it was sowhat unbelievable that he was actually in his dream right now.
Bai Lang would sotis summon him to other dinsions in his dreams, but those places were very different from this place, and that was why Bai Chen was confused after hearing the woman’s words.
And he was even more confused when the woman once again touched his cheek. Earlier that woman could also touch his cheek, and maybe it was indeed a dream because his mother surely wouldn’t be able to touch it if they were in the real world, right?
When Bai Chen worked up the courage to raise his trembling hand to touch his mother’s hand on his cheek, he was able to make contact with the hand, and tears finally fell from his blue eyes.
The woman smiled sadly at him when she saw the tears, and she finally moved her hand to wipe the liquid off the young man’s face. “Don’t cry, ChenChen,” she whispered lovingly. “You’ve worked hard, but you still have so work to do, and that’s why you can’t stay in this dreamland forever.”
Bai Chen actually had a lot of things he wanted to talk to his mother about. He wanted to talk to her about how he now could ride a horse, and he also wanted to tell her that he had found his lost Power Crystal. And more than anything, he also wanted to tell his mother that he had a boyfriend now.
He did have a lot to say, but it seed that the two of them didn’t have much ti to talk to each other, and that was why Bai Chen put his feelings aside as he said, “I’m trying to find the culprit that killed you all those years ago, Mother. Do you know that person, Mother?”
It was strange enough for him to ask soone who had died. It was like talking to a ghost, right? But this ghost was his mother, and that was why Bai Chen didn’t feel scared or uncomfortable at this ti.
After he finished asking, his mother’s face suddenly beca gloomy, she even pulled her hand away from his face. “I know that person, ChenChen,” she replied without looking at him. “Actually, that person was the person I trusted the most when I was alive.”
It was new information that Bai Chen had just gotten from his mother, but for so reason, he didn’t receive any notification from the system about the progress of the mission. He didn’t know the reason, but he assud it was because he was currently in another world that wasn’t under the system’s control, and that was why the system wasn’t here.
Of course, that was just his assumption, and he wasn’t even sure if it was true.
“That’s the person you trusted the most when you were alive, Mother?” Bai Chen carefully asked his mother again. “Could you tell the person’s na, Mother?”
Bai Chen loved his mother very much, but he didn’t really know the people his mother trusted when she was alive. And now that he had asked his mother, the woman looked at him doubtfully, and she sighed heavily before saying, “It would be against the rules if I told you that person’s na, but you must rember that that person is close to you too, Bai Chen.
