243 ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE BAI CHEN?
“Yes. They are both dead,” Wu Jinhai spoke again as if to assure Bai Chen that the Werewolf Prince did not mishear the information he just obtained.
Perhaps the man in red could see how the man in white didn’t even blink after hearing his answer earlier, and that was why he was speaking again instead of waiting for the younger man to respond.
“The Immortal Daoist is from Wu Li, whereas the Immortal Elder is from Dong Lang, right?” Bai Chen finally responded to the man in red. “I still rember your story about them, but when I was in Dong Lang, no one ever spoke of the Immortal Elder at all. During an important event at the Rongyao Imperial Palace, I also didn’t see an elder that matched your description.”
Bai Chen wasn’t sure if he was digging his own grave or not as he honestly responded to the man’s statent. He wasn’t sure whether what he just said would cause Wu Jinhai to feel suspicious about his identity or not. From what he just said, it could be said that he didn’t know anything about the Immortal Elder in Dong Lang, but he didn’t know if the real Bai Chen in this world was clueless about that person either.
“It’s normal if you don’t know much about the Immortal Elder,” Wu Jinhai replied, and Bai Chen secretly breathed a sigh of relief after it was confird that his statent did not jeopardize his identity as a fake Bai Chen in this world.
Bai Chen’s identity was safe, but instead of responding to the older man, he waited for the man to continue with his explanation, assuming that he might not be lucky twice after he managed to save his luck just now when he carelessly threw out a statent.
“Both the Immortal Daoist in Wu Li and the Immortal Elder in Dong Lang used to live in seclusion, and it’s normal if you don’t know much about them,” Wu Jinhai finally spoke again as the other man remained silent. “But since the Immortal Daoist lived in the human realm, it is easier for to find more information about him, and that’s why I’ve known for a long ti that he has died. However, the situation is different with the Immortal Elder because he lived outside of Wu Li, and that’s why it was only recently that I found out that he too had died.”
Bai Chen blinked his blue eyes as he continued to stare at the man sitting next to him. It seed that the two of them were comfortable in their position, and even Bai Chen had forgotten that he was sitting on the ground without using anything to protect his butt from the ground.

“Are you sure you are Bai Chen?” Wu Jinhai asked, and Bai Chen froze.
Why did Wu Jinhai suddenly ask such a question? Was it because the man ended up getting suspicious of him?
Bai Chen was nervous as the man’s brown eyes continued to stare intently at him, and he even took his eyes off the man while saying, “W-what are you saying? Of course, I’m Bai Chen!”
The Werewolf Prince was nervous, but to his surprise, Wu Jinhai suddenly laughed after hearing what he said. “Yes, I know that you are Bai Chen,” he replied. “I just didn’t think you could be this smart, and that’s why I think you’ve turned into soone else now.”
So, it turned out that Wu Jinhai was just questioning his brain which had suddenly beco smart, and that was why Bai Chen once again dared to look at the man in red after confirming his identity was still safe.
“So, I was right about what I just said, right? You know that the Immortal Elder died after you infiltrated my palace, right?” Once again, Bai Chen repeated his question, and he also once again used the word “infiltrate” to describe how Wu Jinhai had managed to enter his palace as his servant.
More or less, Bai Chen was still quite annoyed by the fact that the man dared to lie to him, and that was why his questions were filled with sarcasm as he continued to stare at the taller man.
“You are right, Bai Chen,” Wu Jinhai confird. “The reason why I tried to approach you is that I want to know more about the Immortal Elder because he is the one who can help remove the poison in my body. That’s why I pretended to be Zhu Ge and tried to enter your palace. It’s because I want to get rid of the poison in my body imdiately. I have no ill intentions behind my lies.”
Finally, Wu Jinhai didn’t try to avoid him questioning his ulterior motives in approaching him, and the man in red had just explained the reason why he even pretended to be a male prostitute and tried to enter his palace.
Previously Bai Chen was furious when he just found out that Wu Jinhai had been lying to him all along, but he sohow didn’t feel that much anger in his heart after hearing the man’s explanation.
Perhaps Wu Jinhai could lie to him once again, but Bai Chen sohow didn’t feel any doubt in his heart after he heard the man’s explanation, and it could be said that Bai Chen had beco stupid once again as he easily trusted the man again.
