All students scattered in every direction, the panicky was clearly visible on their faces.

Azalea hurriedly grabbed my hand, pulling away from the bustling crowd.

The feelings of uneasiness haunted , growing deeper with every passing second.

So I, currently filled with deep curiosity, encouraged myself to ask.

"What is it with you and Sherrie?"

She responded with a faint smile.

"That’s not sothing you need to worry about. You’re not fully recovered, you know."

Her cheeks were flushed, radiating happiness just from being with .

But I wasn’t satisfied with her answer and decided to push a little further.

"Why is that? Are you hiding sothing behind ?"

"Nope, not at all. Just don’t be too curious. I promise I’ll tell you everything."

"How about tomorrow?"

"Hmm, maybe. As long as you’re ready for the truth, I’m okay with that too~"

She replied playfully, acting much cuter than how she appeared during the banquet earlier—a complete 180-degree shift, which was a stark contrast to how she carried herself during the banquet hall event earlier.

"Kairi. Azalea."

A woman’s voice called us out faintly from behind.

"Oh, Professor Helena. What is it?" Azalea responded, this ti in a more formal tone.

"Later, after class, please escort Kairi to my office. There’s sothing important I need to talk with her." She then turned to look at , her eyes and lips were smiling.

"I’m really grateful you’re alright. But this case is currently Aethelgarten’s top priority."

I frowned in confusion, raising both of my eyebrows.

"You haven’t told Kairi anything yet, Azalea?"

"Not yet, Professor."

"Why?"

"I am afraid she wasn’t ready."

"Whether she’s ready or not, we need to discover the truth as soon as possible, Miss Lovecraft."

The professor’s stern words were t with only a small nod from Azalea.

"Alright, you two, head to class. And Kairi..."

"Yes?"

"Enjoy yourself and have fun." She smiled warmly before walking away.

...Huh? What does that even an?

I wondered, unsure of what ’enjoy yourself and have fun’ was supposed to imply.

Aren’t classes supposed to be boring? What’s with that kind of remark?

"What? Confused about what she ant by ’enjoy yourself and have fun’?"

"Eh, how would you know? Are you a mind reader or sothing? Like Sherrie?"

"Huh? Sherrie? A mind reader? Pffft."

She let out a giggle, as if she knew I had misunderstood sothing.

"Eh? What? Was I wrong?"

"No no, it’s nothing. It’s just hillarious."

"What is so funny about it? Explain it to !"

I whined, shaking her frail body as if she is a ragdoll. Well, she looked like it.

"Alright, fine. I’ll explain it to you during the first lesson."

"Wait, isn’t talking during class not al—"

"Shhh, can you be quiet? If I say during the class, then during the class it is. Don’t be so stubborn about this, geez!" She flicked my slightly chubby cheek.

Wait, is this kind of interaction normal?

I pondered as we walked together and, before I realized it, we had already reached the classroom—or rather, ’the attraction hall.’

Oh... so this is what she ans by ’enjoy yourself.’

I thought to myself as I sat beside Azalea, who was twirling her hair, waiting for .

By the way, our seats were at the far-right corner, last row.

This spot felt oddly familiar... Ah, whatever. Maybe this was arranged on purpose.

As I settled in next to Azalea, the lesson began. A male professor stood at the front, sketching what looked to be a Venn diagram floating on the air, playfully introducing his theory to attract students with so colourful charts of sorts.

Azalea nudged my shoulder, pointing sothing out with her index finger toward what seed to be an old, worn-out piece of papyrus.

I nodded, turning toward the parchnt. There was nothing—just a blank sheet of pa—

Sherrie’s ability isn’t mind reading. If it were, she’d already know everything you’re thinking, including your secrets. The truth is, it’s ’Suggestion.’ Sherrie can manipulate how people perceive her and ensnare them with nothing but her words. For example, when you entered the banquet earlier, she appeared more mature. That was an extension of her ability. And if you heard a voice that sounded like hers, it’s because she has already made contact with you, which ans she could suggest you. She makes it seem as if she can read your mind because you’re already under her suggestion.

That’s why I suspect she’s involved in the ’case’ Professor Helena ntioned earlier, though she seems to feel guilty about it. Honestly, I feel bad for her. But, I couldn’t help it. She should take responsibility as the hall monitor.

I froze instantaneously, my mouth nearly agape.

But before my shock could have fully settled, Azalea still continued ’writing.’

From this, you’ve probably figured out my ability too, haven’t you?

It’s called ’Isolation.’ I can write like this because our thoughts are isolated from the rest of others. In reality, there’s nothing written on this parchnt—in-fact, it’s just a blank sheet. But since you trust and follow my instructions, I can visualize these words for you in your mind. Because what actually happens is that these ’writings’ are encoded in Norse ciphers, then projected into a part of your brain separated from any other thoughts. That’s why I’m unaffected by Sherrie’s ’Suggestion.’ Before she even entered the room, I had already recognized her, so I used ’Thought-Blocking’—subversion of my "Isolation" ability, allowed to block her influence imdiately.

So... it’s sort of like ntal gymanstics of code programming more or less. Or perhaps basically computer science of my previous world? That’s interesting.

I thought to myself, visualizing her explanation while also fascinated by her ability.

I nodded as I ’read’ her ssage and then ’wrote’ sothing back to her in the air.

"So, is that all you wanted to explain?"

Azalea suddenly looked extrely shocked at my response.

Her eyes widened, though still giving a small nod.

"Why are you so quiet?"

She frantically waved her hands and shook her head in distress.

Before I could react, without any caution, a small baton all of a sudden flew toward .

Ouch!

Obviously, it hurts.

Azalea also seed to have received the sa hit, rubbing her head in pain.

"You two... always in your own world! Do you not see that the lesson has already started?! What could possibly be more interesting than my teaching?!"

"Kairi, you too. You just recovered, yet you’re busy floating letters in the air?! Did you think I wouldn’t notice?!"

Azalea, ever seed so composed, held up the blank papyrus, to which the professor nodded in understanding.

"Alright, I’ll let it slide this ti. Don’t do it next ti, alright ladies?"

Both of us nodded in unison, not wanting to disobey.

DELLAETRIX SEPHIROTH L’ETRANGE

Yet another unfamiliar na resurfaced into my head once more.
