The Sleeping Dragon Continent is divided into Five Great Provinces, each holding its own secrets, powers, and ancient legacies.
—
In the South lies the Southern Province, where the Azure Dragon Sect stands above all—renowned for their cunning tactics, elusive techniques, and hidden weapons, ruling with unrivaled strength and prestige.
—
In the West lies the Western Province, where the Yellow Shaolin Temple reigns with highest authority—revered for its profound wisdom and unparalleled defensive techniques.
—
In the North lies the Northern Province, ho to the fearso Great Demonic Sect—masters of the Dark Arts, their influence commands both power and fear.
They are said to be the strongest among the Four Overlord Sects.
—
At the heart of the continent is the Central Province, the largest of them all, spanning nearly half its land.
Unlike the other provinces, it is not ruled by a single sect, but by five mighty Overlord Families, each one matching the power and influence of the Overlord Sects from the surrounding regions.
—
And finally, in the East lies the Eastern Province, ho to the powerful Supre Dao Sect.
Alongside it stand the Four Great Kingdoms, allied with nurous smaller nations and the Five Great Sects—together overseeing thousands of other sects across the province, forming a vast and powerful coalition.
The Four Great Kingdoms were Zhenou, Luvian, Xuhan, and Longxia.
"And I'm heading to a small city in Ninzhou County, part of the Great Zhenou Kingdom, to complete my Disciple Duty," Reon thought, channeling Spiritual Qi into his legs to move even faster.
After nearly half an hour of running, he spotted four small, Chinese traditional one-story buildings up ahead—the marker of his destination.
He ca to a stop just past them, took a deep breath to calm his racing heart, and drank water from his Spatial Gourd.
Then, he walked over to the Teleportation Counter marked with the emblem of the Great Zhenou Kingdom.
Ahead of him, five Outer Disciples stood in line. Reon joined quietly, his eyes scanning the setup.
"Looks like Outer Disciples visit the Mortal World more often than I thought," he mused. "Though we have stricter limits compared to Inner or Core Disciples."
As he waited, he recalled the rules: Outer Disciples could only leave three tis a month and had to return within three days under normal conditions.
Servants and Trial Disciples had it even harder.
One by one, the disciples ahead of him stepped into a large room where a complex formation linked to various towns and cities of the Zhenou Kingdom was inscribed on the floor.
All one had to do was speak the city's na at the counter and pay the required Sect Points through their Essence Token.
Finally, Reon's turn ca.
"Where do you want to go, Junior Disciple?" asked the senior at the counter.
"Qinghe City of Ninzhou County, please," Reon replied.
"Alright," the man nodded, signaling soone inside the room to get the teleportation ready for that place.
He then handed Reon a receiving plate shaped like a coin.
"That will be 500 Sect Points. Please pay here."
Reon pressed his Essence Token against the plate. A soft chi rang out as the points were deducted—just like a card at a paynt terminal.
"Damn... five hundred Sect Points for one trip? That's practically five gold... almost $500," he thought, wincing inwardly.
Without further complaint, he stepped into the formation room and moved to its center, where lines of ancient script shimred faintly beneath his feet.
A disciple on the side raised a glowing disc, spiritual energy pulsing through it.
"Formation starting. Be ready."
Reon nodded. "I'm ready."
A hum filled the air. The light intensified.
And then—everything blurred.
When Reon could see again, he found himself standing in the middle of a quiet courtyard. The air slled faintly of pine and incense.
Before him rose a grand four-story building, its curved rooftops and red pillars marking it as traditional—clearly built in the classic Eastern style.
Around him, trees swayed gently in the breeze.
"Disciple, would you like to stay at the Supre Dao Sect's inn here in Qinghe City?" the man asked with a calm, polite tone.
Reon raised an eyebrow.
"Oh? The sect has its own inn here?" he thought. "That's... surprisingly convenient."
"Yes," Reon answered aloud.
"Then follow to the counter," the man said with a nod.
Reon trailed behind him, passing through a wide open hallway until they reached a small reception desk.
There, he booked a standard room for one week with his Essence Token.
Minutes later, Reon finally entered his room.
The door shut with a soft thud behind him.
A long breath escaped his lips. "Ah... finally."
"Let's rest for now," he muttered, letting his body fall onto the bed, arms sprawled wide.
...
Back at the sect, outside Xue Taiyang's residence, a crowd had already gathered.
Most of them were Inner Sect disciples—followers of Ma Chen and Niu Ling.
"Hey, bastard Xue Taiyang! Co out! We're here on behalf of Brother Ma Chen," shouted a short man in Inner Sect robes, standing near the door.
Another disciple stepped forward and kicked the door.
"Yeah, co out already! You're coming with us. If you kneel, apologize for hurting our sister-in-law, and hand over that artifact to Brother Ma Chen, he might be generous enough to let you go with just one arm!"
But no response ca.
They waited a few monts longer.
"Hey, bastard! Are you mocking us by staying silent?" another man growled, kicking the door again.
Min Shing stepped up and examined the door. Every Outer Disciple's ho had a basic formation lock—usable from inside or outside. He quickly noticed it was locked.
"The idiot's locked himself in," he said, turning to the others.
"Hah! So he's scared and hiding. Makes sense," one of the n who ca with Min Shing scoffed.
"Even if he beat Yi Ran, he can't take on all of us Inner Sect disciples. That artifact of his must be on cooldown—without it, he's nothing but a coward."
"Damn right! Break the door down! That bastard's not escaping today!" another shouted.
"Yeah! Tear it down!"
"Yeah! Tear it down!"
Their voices rose in unison, a chorus of fury and confidence.
Suddenly—
"Who said they're going to break that door?"
A cold, calm voice rang out from behind them.
Everyone turned to see who it was.
And when they did—their faces turned pale. What they saw left them stunned.
