With a body that barely had the energy to move after the hot and steamy session, I pulled myself together and got out of the water to get ready.
"Aww. Too bad we got cut short," Eun-Woo pouted. "I wanted more."
"Seriously, you’re such a beast," I sighed. "Get out of there, and let’s go."
He did as told and followed to the dressing room, latching unto and stealing kisses. I had to threaten him for him to stop!
"Eun-Woo’ya, if you don’t stop that, we’re NOT doing this ever again."
Instead of feeling threatened, he smirked at .
"So that ans there’s a next ti if I stop?"
How co he always turns my words against and in his favor?
"Ugh."
We hastily got ready and clothed ourselves before going downstairs to et father-in-law, Mr. Jeon Young-Jae. Our new house butler guided us to the waiting room in the east wing of the mansion, where he was, drinking tea and talking to his secretary.
As soon as we entered the room, Mr. Young-Jae’s serious expression turned into a doting father look. His face lit up, and he greeted us with a warm smile.
"Eun-Woo’ya! Ye-Ji’ya! How I missed you two," he said as he extended his hand for a shake for and a hug for Eun-Woo.
I shook his hand back, and Eun-Woo embraced him back.
"If it isn’t my father who ca at a bad timing," Eun-Woo teased him—the audacity to say such things to his father!
"Huh? A bad timing?" Mr. Young-Jae asked, looking dumbfounded. "Did I interrupt sothing?"
"No! Not at all, father-in-law," I interrupted before Eun-Woo could say anything else. "Please don’t mind him."
I gestured my hands towards the couch, and we all sat down. The servants served us so refreshnts while we chatted.
"We’re so glad you visited, father-in-law."
"No, we’re not," Eun-Woo whispered.
"Shut up, Eun-Woo’ya," I whispered back to him and pinched his side.
"Aw, that hurts."
"Are you two alright? Are you perhaps, not feeling well?"
"No, we’re good. I was just... fixing Eun-Woo’ya’s clothes."
"Oh, I see," Mr. Young-Jae nodded. "Anyway, do forgive this old man if I was only able to visit now. My trip overseas was extended longer than I expected."
"It’s alright, father-in-law. We know you’re busy, and we’re glad you even made ti for us."
"My daughter-in-law is such a nice lady as always. How I wish I had a daughter instead of this ungrateful son who doesn’t even look like he missed . Hmp!"
"I did miss you, dad," Eun-Woo corrected him. "If only you ca a little later. You see, we were—"
I imdiately gave him the "eye" to stop speaking or else!
Mr. Young-Jae must have been so confused about our actions.
"Are you two having a lover’s quarrel? Is that why it’s bad timing?"
"Rather than lover’s quarrel—"
I quickly covered his mouth.
’Seriously! He’s deliberately doing this, isn’t he? Privacy, please! Don’t tell you’re planning to tell your dad that we just... did "that"—No way!’
"Hmm... Or is it that you’re sick, my daughter-in-law?" Mr. Young-Jae asked, observing from head to toe. "You do have those red marks on your skin. Did you eat sothing you’re allergic to? Is that allergy? You should get it checked up and rest!"
"Huh? Red marks?" I asked, unsure what he was referring to.
"Yes. Those tiny... bug bites? Or allergy? I’m no doctor, so I’m not sure."
Eun-Woo suddenly chuckled, so I checked it myself. Mr. Young-Jae was pointing around my neck and sowhere in my arms. I couldn’t possibly look at my neck without a mirror, so I checked my arm instead. Upon closer look, there really was a few tiny spots with red marks on my skin. Red marks like...
’Oh my goodness! ASDFGHJKL! T-These are...’
Unconsciously, I glared at Eun-Woo, and he just laughed at . He tried to suppress it by biting his lips, but his grin was so wide.
"Yes, they are," Eun-Woo chuckled. "Bug bites."
I tried to smile despite my anger.
"Ha-ha. Indeed, father-in-law. There was this huge bug that kept on biting ."
"O-Ohhhh! I see," Mr. Young-Jae smiled so widely when he finally realized it.
That was the worst acting on my part. I couldn’t hide the embarrassnt and how pissed off I was with Eun-Woo. Ugh. Why didn’t I notice these earlier when I was getting ready? I was rushing too much that I didn’t think to check on my skin. I an, I rarely check on my skin, so how would I know that? Still, he DID keep biting onto my skin last night and earlier, so of course, I should have realized they would leave marks.
’Oh my goodness. I want to hide sowhere. This is so embarrassing.’
The kind and considerate Mr. Young-Jae didn’t press on questioning us, probably noticing how shy I felt. Instead, he chuckled and said.
"It seems that I will soon have a grandchild to dote on. Go on, you two. Keep it up. I look forward to the good news."
"Thanks, dad. Don’t worry. We’ll try our best every single day."
"What the—" I blurted out.
There were a thousand words I wanted to say to refute him, but I couldn’t possibly do that with Mr. Young-Jae in front of us.
"Aigoo, this son of mine," Mr. Young-Jae sighed. "You should let this daughter-in-law of mine rest! Maybe that’s why she’s still not pregnant. You’re exhausting her too much. As a man, you should take care of her body, too. Do it in moderation, my child."
Yes! Tell him, father-in-law!
"Eeh? But isn’t it the more we try, the better the chances?"
Mr. Young-Jae grimaced at his words, shook his head, and slamd his palm on his face. With a heavy sigh, he turned to .
"Daughter-in-law, forgive this son of mine. He’s been a virgin all his life, so he must have been excited with the new experience and—"
"Hey, dad! You make sound like a... perverted teenager."
’You are!—Oh, how much I wanted to say that.’
Mr. Young-Jae and I could only sigh at his antics.
"Anyway, now that I know you two have been well," Mr. Young-Jae continued, changing the topic, "there was another reason I visited, too." He turned his head to Eun-Woo and added, "My dear son, thank you for letting know about Mr. Choi. It has been a while, but I still want to thank you personally. Not only did you have to deal with his—hmp—promiscuous daughter, but to think he had the audacity to bring you into his heinous cri! Haaah... I can’t tell you how angry I was when I heard about it."
Oh, I see. Of course, Eun-Woo would tell his father. They were really close and loved each other. Too bad Mr. Choi didn’t know that. He must have thought all Elite families were scum like them, who only cared about making money.
"It was nothing, dad," Eun-Woo replied. "It was only right that you know. His daughter dared disturb my honeymoon with Ye-Ji’ya, and then he cos in to offer how to make more money by betraying you. Ugh. How stupid of him. He must have thought I wanted to surpass you or sothing."
"Indeed. Such a disappointnt."
"This is what happens when you’re too kind, dad. You should be more strict with your people. That way, they don’t bite their owners."
"Haah... Was I too kind? I’m just a normal businessman. If anyone gives returns and values, I praise them and give back by rewarding them. To think he wanted more than those rewards."
"He must have thought they were nothing compared to what he could gain more if he betrays you."
"I see. He must have been driven by greed."
"Exactly. So much greed that is."
"I’ll be more careful."
"You should."
And so they talked. Eun-Woo ended up reprimanding his father for being too kind. Oh well, I couldn’t bla him. He cared for his father, so of course, he would be worried if he continued being like that.
’The sad truth about this world is that... kindness often gets abused.’
"Forgive this old man for dampening the mood," Mr. Young-Jae sighed. "On the bright side, I heard you attended little Tiffany’s birthday?"
"Yes, father-in-law. We got an invitation from them since we happened to help Tiffany a little on the day she got kidnapped because of her useless aunt," I replied without hesitation, only to regret being too blunt with my words. "Oh my goodness, forgive for my words!"
"Ha-ha-ha! That’s alright, daughter-in-law. You’re not wrong. Her aunt truly was careless! If that happens to my grandchild, ah! I don’t know what I will do!"
"Thank you, father-in-law."
"But do tell ! I heard another audacious thing! Is it true that so woman tried to flirt with my son while YOU were there?"
Oh no. Mr. Young-Jae was such a perfect father-in-law, except... he was a little nosy at tis.
"Yes, dad!" Eun-Woo butted in. "Those won are such—ugh..."
And so, they both talked like best friends who hadn’t t each other in a while. I guess this was what their father-and-son bonding was like, huh? Eun-Woo told him everything that happened so animatedly like a child. Ha-ha. How sweet. I noticed he really drops his guard with people he liked or who were precious to him.
Oh well, I guess I should let them chat and catch up. They must have truly missed each other. Seeing them like this sohow reminds of my father and how we used to bond when I was still a child. Ahh... I suddenly miss him.
