For the rest of the week, I threw myself into work, focusing on the project that was supposed to be presented at Diana’s company. Luckily, we had already done most of the preparation before the cancellation, so it wasn’t too difficult to pick up where we left off.

But despite the busy schedule and the sense of accomplishnt, my mind kept wandering back to Ace and the plans we had made for the weekend. I couldn’t shake off the feeling that this weekend was going to be different, that it was going to change sothing in my life.

As the clock struck 5 PM on Friday, I let out a sigh of relief. The week had been a whirlwind of activity, but we had finally made it to the weekend. I packed up my things, looking forward to a couple of days of relaxation.

As I walked out of the office building, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease. The weekend was here, and I knew I had plans that I couldn’t get out of. Ace was picking up at 8 PM, and I had no idea what to expect.

I got ho extrely tired and just sinked into my couch, the next ti my eyes opened was to the sound of my alarm blaring in my ear. I groggily reached over to turn it off, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. It was Saturday, and I was supposed to go out with Ace.

It was noon in no ti, the day seed to be in a hurry too...

I stood in my room, staring at my phone in disbelief. Ace had just hung up on .

He had called and I picked up the phone, to my surprise, it was Ace’s number flashing on the screen, not the usual unknown number he had been using for a while. My heart skipped a beat as I hesitated for a mont before answering.

"Hello?" I said, trying to sound calm.

There was a pause on the other end of the line. I could almost feel Ace’s presence, his calm and collected deanor radiating through the phone.

"Arrange your bags," he said finally, his deep voice low and husky. "It’s not just going to be Saturday. It’s going to be tonight and tomorrow."

I felt a jolt of surprise. "No, no, no. That’s not what I signed up for," I protested. "I thought it was just going to be an evening or night outing."

There was another pause, and for a mont, I wondered if he had hung up on . But then his voice ca through again, firm and unyielding.

"Just pack up."

And with that, the line went dead. I stared at the phone in my hand amused by how unchanging Aec could be.

"Unbelievable," I muttered to myself, tossing my phone onto the bed.

I collapsed onto the bed beside my phone, feeling a mix of emotions. I was supposed to spend the weekend with him, and now I was starting to regret it. I thought about calling Maxie, telling her about the whole situation, but then I hesitated. I knew she would be mad at , and I didn’t want to deal with her worry and frustration on top of my own.

Just as I was trying to decide what to do, my phone rang. I picked it up, hoping it wasn’t Ace calling back to give more instructions. But it was Ryan. I answered, trying to sound casual despite the turmoil in my head.

"Hey, how’s your weekend going?" Ryan asked, his voice cheerful.

"It’s fine," I replied, trying to match his tone. "I was just about to sleep."

"Okay, I just called to greet you," Ryan said. "Get so rest, I’ll talk to you later."

We exchanged a few more pleasantries before hanging up. I was grateful for the distraction...

I ended up dozing off, exhausted from the week’s events. It felt like I had just closed my eyes when my phone rang again, jolting awake. I groggily picked it up, rubbing my eyes to see the ti. 7:00 PM. Oh no. Ace was supposed to pick up at 8:00 PM.

I quickly sat up, my heart racing. "Hello?" I answered, trying to sound more awake than I felt.

"Hey, Sharon, did you even call throughout this whole ti, are we good?" Zion’s voice ca through the phone.

I laughed, feeling a bit more awake. "Yes, Zion, we’re good. I’ve just been busy with work." But I knew work didn’t stop from reaching out to him, his confession did...

Zion and I chatted for a few minutes, catching up on each other’s lives. As soon as I hung up, I sprang into action. I quickly packed my bag for the weekend, my hands moving on autopilot. I was so focused on getting everything ready that I didn’t even notice the car horn outside until it blared loudly.

My heart skipped a beat as I looked at the clock. It was 8:00 PM. Ace was here. I was in the process of grabbing my bag and heading out the door to et Ace when I heard a knock. My heart sank as I thought to myself, "Oh my God, did he have to co to the door?" I quickly hung my bag on the hook and made my way to the door.

I opened the door to find Beatrice standing there with a bright smile on her face. "Hey!" she exclaid, throwing her arms around in a warm hug.

I hugged her back, feeling a mix of surprise and relief. "Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked, trying to play it cool.

"I was doing sothing nearby and I thought I’d drop by to say hi," she replied, her eyes sparkling with friendliness.

I smiled and stepped aside, letting her in. "Okay, that’s nice of you," I said, trying to hide the fact that I was in a hurry.

As we stood there, Beatrice noticed my gaze drifting towards the door. "Is this a bad ti?" she asked, her brow furrowing with concern.

I tried to play it off, glancing around awkwardly. "No, no, I was just...about to head out," I said, trying to look nonchalant.

Beatrice’s eyes followed mine, and she looked outside the door. That’s when she saw the car parked outside. Her eyes snapped back to mine, and she raised an eyebrow. "Oh, okay. I see," she said, a knowing glint in her eye.

I felt my face heat up as I tried to play it cool. "Yeah, I was just...about to et soone," I stamred.

Beatrice smiled knowingly. "Okay, no problem. You can go. I just ca to say hi. Have fun," she said, winking at

"Thanks, I’ll catch up with you later," I said, smiling at her.

With that, she turned and headed outside, leaving to Aec now, I just hoped she didn’t recognize his car or sothing...

I took a deep breath, slung my bag over my shoulder, and headed out the door. As I stepped out into the cool evening air, I saw Ace waiting for by the car, his expression unreadable.

"Let’s go," he said, his voice firm but polite.

I nodded, feeling a mix of emotions as I got into the car. I had no idea what the weekend had in store for , but I was determined to face it head-on.

I want Ryan but I craved Aec...
