Acantha was inside the room with Flaar as Fabian and the others went to their own rooms.
She looked at the ceiling and the floor they got, and damn!
Then she was startled when she saw the chandelier, as it was so absurd having that kind of chandelier.
It was like so.... How can she describe it?
If she didn’t know who was on the chandelier, she might just conclude it was so kind of deity or god that they are worshipping here in their empire.
But as she had seen the man before, Acantha wanted to know how narcissistic the man is to have people in his empire put his face on a freaking chandelier.
She looked at the window and she saw there was a big balcony.
She walks to the balcony to see what she can see there, and the only thing she can see aside from buildings nearby is a small garden below the hotel that they were staying at.
But there was sothing strange with the bushes in the garden; it feels like sothing was hiding.
Acantha uses her power to brush the bush and there she saw three children were hiding behind it and were eating so food.
A food that looks not good to eat.
That’s where she looked on her right side and she saw that there seed like a small place there that was so different from what she was seeing in front of her.
"You stupid little poor rats! How dare you steal so food at the kitchen?!" Acantha turned and she saw that there was a worker from the place where she they were staying.
Acantha saw fear in the children’s eyes as soon as they saw the woman running towards them.
They finished stuffing all the food in their mouth.
The children panic when the woman is near them, and one of the children has so teary eyes while she is stuffing all the food in her small mouth.
She was about to run when she was suddenly caught by the woman who was angry at them.
"You little brat! Call those other kids and I will give you so punishnt." The woman said as she looked at the kid while gripping the kid’s arms tightly.
"Please, I am just hungry." The kid cried as the woman pulled her this ti like she was trying to drag the kid.
"Let her go!" Acantha saw the other two children who ca back. They were glaring at the woman as the woman was also doing the sa thing to them.
"Yes, let her go, you old hag!" the other kid said as they both walked to where the woman was drugging the little girl.
"Huh, and you have the guts to tell what to do after you stole from our kitchen?" The woman said as she was still not letting the little girl go, but instead she was gripping her more tightly.
"You already threw the food." One of the kids said as he was looking at the woman confusedly.
"Yes, the food that we got wasn’t good anymore." Said the other kid, who was the tallest among the three children.
"You dare to walk here and cross the border. You should stay at the slums where you live!" The woman said angrily as she was about to slap the little girl who was still in her hands.
"Stop!" Acantha yelled and the four of them lifted their heads to look at her.
The woman who was looking at her widened her eyes, as maybe she recognized the room that she was staying in.
"Mada, these kids here are thieves." The woman said to her and Acantha felt old by what she called her.
"Thieves?" Acantha said as she raised her brows to the woman who smiled at her while nodding.
Does this woman really think she was buying what she was saying?
"They ca from the ignota terra," the woman said as she turned around to face the children and Acantha saw her grimace at them.
"Ignota terra?" Acantha looked at the woman as she frowned at what she said.
"Yes, Mada. That place is for so bad and poor people. The emperor made that place for them to know their place." The woman said as she smiled at her when she turned her face to her again.
"You’re lying; we’re not bad people." The kids said as they were glaring at the woman, while the little girl was still sobbing silently.
"But that’s not what I saw a while ago." Acantha said as she pretended to be thinking sothing.
"What do you an, Mada?" Acantha looked at the woman coldly, and she saw the girl sweat as she looked at her.
"It seems like there is sothing wrong with your description. From what I saw, it wasn’t these poor kids you called who were behaving badly, but you." Acantha said as she leaned on the baluster in the balcony, and as she stared at the woman, she could see the fear in her eyes and the way she was shaking.
She was definitely scared of her.
"Now, I want you to give these kids so food and charge it to this room." Acantha said as she stand straight from leaning.
"Yes, Mada." The woman said in a small voice, but she could hear the anger in her tone while she was trying to suppress it.
"And don’t you put any spoiled food or poison in it. If I learn that you did, I will co after you." Acantha said as she turned around again after she took three steps away from the balcony, and she saw the kids were grateful for what she did.
Acantha went to her bed, as it had been along day for her and when she lay down, she put so covers on the chandelier, as she couldn’t bear seeing it.
It feels like that man was looking at her while she was sleeping if she won’t cover it.
When she woke up, it was already evening; she decided to co and et the others.
This hotel might be a little modernized like what they had back in the South, but Acantha can’t compare it to the hotel that was in their capital, as she had never been inside that place.
She walks through the hallway and she has seen so many drunk n with won by their sides while they seem to be walking their way to their rooms.
"My lady." Fabian greeted her when she t them at the restaurant inside the place. It’s really a hotel but not the hotel like back in her world that has so many floors; this place was more like a big house, and she just keeps on calling it that as it has so stores inside.
The place was really huge; it has three stories, and there are many rooms. Just enough for noble people who seem to have so escapades and were too afraid that their spouses might find out aboutt their affairs.
"We already got you so food, my lady." Diego said to her as he was informing her about it when he looked at the nu on the table.
"We will leave tomorrow as we need to move fast; the ti was ticking and who knows how long until Abanoon will discover we were here?" Acantha said as she shut her mouth when the waiter serves their food.
"Have you rembered anything in that place, Flaar?" Acantha looked at Flaar, who was now in a cat form, and he nodded.
"Yes, I rember that the place was deserted; there is no water around it." Flaar said, which made the four of them frown at what he said.
"I thought we were supposed to find a river? or lake?" Zerth asked as he sliced the at on his plate.
"That’s what I’ve been thinking. if the river was under the desert." Acantha looked at Flaar, who fell into a deep thought.
What if there’s really a river in the desert? After all, in this world, nothing is impossible. Acantha thinks as she mocks and contradicts her own ideas.
She looked around them again, and she started seeing so people again.
She suddenly rembered sowhere in Solaia’s diary.
Terra sicca est; pluvia non cadit.
Sub terra moriens alius fuit orbis.
Mundus qui per mortem non potest attingi nisi.
Cum mors venerit, Pat videre potes.
[The earth is dry; no rain falls.
Under the dying earth was another world.
A world that cannot be reached except through death.
When death cos, you can see Path.]
She was at a loss.
Could it have to do with so things in what she said ?
"Terra arida est; nulla pluvia cadit.
Moriens sub terra fuit alter in orbe.
Mundus adiri non potest nisi per mortem.
Cum mors venit, viam potes videre." Acantha said as she looked at them again who also confused at what she was saying.
