Inside his room, Damian sat cross-legged on the bed and took three jade slips from his spatial ring.
Aside from the King Grade Chaos Spiritual Root, there were also the other four elental spiritual roots he had gained from Violetta and Vulkara.
Together with his original Fla and Thunder spiritual roots, that ant his foundation was about to beco completely ridiculous.
Damian rubbed his chin and muttered, "From what I know in novels, chaos is usually the beginning and end of all elents, right?"
His eyes slowly brightened. "If that’s the case, then let’s just absorb all of these spiritual roots at the sa ti."
Of course, under normal circumstances, this kind of thing would probably be suicide.
Randomly stuffing so many spiritual roots into one body sounded like asking for Qi deviation, ridian collapse, or so other painful death.
But Damian’s spiritual root rewards ca from the system, so they should fuse perfectly no matter what he did.
Even if he passed out afterward.
Damian stared at the three jade slips for a mont before clicking his tongue. "Okay, I already know this is going to hurt like hell. Let’s be calm first."
After a mont, he steadied himself.
Then, without any hesitation, he pressed all three jade slips against his forehead at the sa ti.
BOOM!
A terrifying power and elental force rushed into Damian’s body, wanting to permanently change his spiritual roots. In an instant, pain exploded through every part of him.
It felt like fire was burning his bones, thunder was tearing through his flesh, water was flooding his blood, earth was crushing his organs, tal was sharpening his nerves, and wood was forcing his body to grow beyond its limits.
And above all of them, a dark-gray chaotic force appeared like an endless void, swallowing, refining, and rebuilding everything.
Damian barely managed to curse before his vision went black. "God... damn..."
His body fell backward onto the bed, and for a while, the room beca silent. Even so, the system continued working inside his body.
---
The next morning, Damian woke up, and for a mont, his mind was a little blank.
The last thing he rembered was screaming in pain before finally passing out.
Now that he was awake, he wanted to check his body, so he slowly sat up from the bed.
But the mont he carefully inspected himself, he was instantly shocked.
His body felt light.
No, not just light.
It felt ridiculously good, like it had improved at least ten tis over. Damian did not even know how to properly describe the feeling.
"Damn... is this the effect of a King Grade spiritual root? It’s really fucking good."
He also noticed that his Qi absorption speed had increased to a ridiculous degree.
At least ten tis faster.
And this was only in his passive state, not even when he was actively cultivating.
Damian swallowed slightly and laughed loudly. "Damn... no wonder those geniuses with King Grade spiritual roots can advance so fast. Even if they do nothing, they would still improve."
He also felt sothing else.
Because his spiritual root was Chaos, and Chaos should be the origin of all elents, he could sense elents much better now.
Not just Thunder and Fla, but the other elents too.
Damian grinned even wider. "Damn... damn, damn, damn. Now this feels like a real main character foundation."
He clenched his fists again in excitent. "Haha! From now on, the real main character life starts."
Just as he said that, a calm voice suddenly sounded from outside the room. "Are you done praising yourself?"
Damian’s body stiffened, and his expression froze on his face as the door opened.
Selvara walked in with her usual calm expression.
Damian imdiately coughed and straightened his back. "Master, good morning."
Selvara looked at him silently, inspecting his whole body while Damian’s heart tightened slightly.
"Can she sense it?"
After a mont, Selvara only asked about the normal condition of his body. "How is your body, Damian?"
Damian smiled and answered, "Much better than yesterday. Actually... I feel amazing."
Selvara nodded faintly. "Good. Then it seems the Golden Core pressure did not leave any hidden damage."
Damian smiled with the most innocent expression he could make. "Yes, Master. I was also worried, but after resting properly, I feel at least ten tis better than before."
For a mont, he sighed in relief.
It seed his master did not notice his new spiritual root at all.
But even so, seeing her cold expression and sharp eyes still made him feel a little strange.
Damian quickly changed the topic. "Master, what happened after we returned? Did you report the matter to the Sect Master?"
Selvara nodded. "I already told the Sect Master about the escort mission, Marden Lou, the hidden pill, Morven Kraal, and the Night Fragrance Pavilion."
Damian’s expression beca a little more serious. "What did the Sect Master say?"
Selvara spoke calmly. "The Night Fragrance Pavilion will have to be cautious around us from now on. They may be bold in secret, but they are not foolish enough to openly provoke the Heavenly Sword Sect."
Damian rubbed his chin. "So basically, they won’t dare to co loudly, but they might still try so shady tricks."
Selvara glanced at him. "Correct."
Damian sighed. "Damn it. I knew those perfu bastards wouldn’t disappear that easily."
Selvara ignored his choice of words and continued, "As for the disciples who went to Redstone City, you do not need to worry. Our sect has people stationed there. After they arrived, they imdiately reported everything."
Damian relaxed slightly. "So they made it safely?"
"They did," Selvara said. "The matter has already been handled."
Damian let out a breath. "Good. At least those guys didn’t get dragged into more trouble because of ."
Selvara looked at him calmly. "Actually, the report surprised ."
Damian blinked. "Surprised you?"
Selvara nodded. "Those disciples said you protected the caravan, distributed recovery pills, fought off multiple ambushes, stayed behind to delay a Golden Core cultivator, and let them escape first."
Damian’s expression slowly beca strange.
Selvara continued, "They also said that without you, the escort team would have suffered heavy losses. So even called you a hero."
Damian froze, and soon his face turned slightly red as his grin widened. "A hero... hehehe..."
He noticed her expression and quickly coughed into his fist before looking away. "Well... I an... I didn’t do anything that impressive."
Selvara’s eyes softened slightly, though her expression remained calm. "You did well."
Damian paused.
Selvara looked at him and said, "Good job, my disciple."
For a mont, Damian did not know what to say because he had never expected his uptight master to praise him.
"Wow... I never thought being praised by a cold master would feel this good... hehe."
