"It took a lot of ti and patience to resurrect this wyvern but you just had to appear and ruin everything. "

She said venomously.

The wyvern claw slashed down towards . Luna, who had been behind , shot forward, her sword drawn, and stopped the huge claw. It was almost the size of her body.

The sword sliced through the claw separating it from the leg. The wyvern wobbled. A spell circle appeared at the place Luna had cut before new bones started to reform.

To be able to regrow bones showed just how strong she was.

’Bind’

The spell circle appeared under the skeletal wyvern, and chains shot out of the circle, wrapping around the skeletal wyvern and pulling it down.

"No!"

The girl jumped off the wyvern as the chains broke through the bones. The creature that was second to the dragon was suppressed with a single spell.

Even in bone form, necromancers always manage to maintain three-quarters of the dead’s original strength. That was a walking disaster in the making.

"Hold her down. "

I commanded Luna, pointing at the frantic girl. I walked to the held-down wyvern and looked into its glowing eyes. Despite how fleeting it was, it wasn’t fast enough to escape my gaze.

Faces, hundreds of twisted faces.

"You ruined everything!"

The girl shouted as she struggled against Luna. Necromancers were basically helpless without their summons.

What she said intrigued .

"What did I ruin?"

My hands ca and touched the wyvern’s head and turned its head to the side to get a clear view, but the faces had disappeared, and only the blue fla inside its eye sockets remained burning.

"I just needed a bit more souls, and I could have made him better then I could destroy this whole kingdom. "

"It’s really true when they say necromancers eventually lose their minds when they stay around the dead too much."

I said sarcastically. The girl scoffed.

"Lose my mind, I’m perfectly sane."

"Only a fool would think of destroying a whole kingdom with a simple wyvern. "

Wyverns were on level II creatures in the adventurers guild rank. They could only manage to destroy a large city before being killed. Nothing impressive except for their ancestry from the dragon.

"Who said there was only one?"

She burst into laughter before the ground started shaking. A large spell floated from her and into the sky. The corpses from the zombies started to sink into the ground before a much larger spell ford that covered the whole village.

Several claws shot out of the ground before ten more skeletal wyvern erged.

"Where did you even find this many?"

I asked as they surrounded us. The girls’ laughter stopped, and he turned to look at in disbelief.

"Aren’t you scared?"

She asked in confusion.

"Why would I be? It’s just a flying lizard. Kill her!"

Laura raised her sword, ready to swing it down. If the necromancer dies, all their summons die with them. This is basically killing the general and the army will be useless.

"Wait!wait!"

She shouted. I gestured for Luna to stop. Her sword stopped mid swing just near her now tear streaken face.

"What is it?"

"Please, I don’t want to die, okay. The other wyverns are useless; they can’t fight at all, I swear on my mother’s grave. I had used up all the souls on the one you’re holding down, and it still wasn’t enough. My mother told anyone who asks for a necromancer wants to kill them thats how she died. Please don’t kill ."

I was left stunned by her rambling. She had flipped the switch faster than I had expected. I turned to look at the summoned wyverns.

Unlike the first one which had a much larger fla in its socket, the others had wisps that seed to be barely flickering.

I turned to look at the crying woman. Her face cover had dropped, and what was revealed was a beautiful face. Pink hair that flowed down her waist, large eyes, and pouty lips.

But what stood out despite her beauty was the large scar on her neck. It looked like soone had slashed her neck but she seed to have survived.

She noticed my gaze and covered it. Despite all that, I found it impressive that she had collected so many corpses.

"Why did you kill the villagers?"

Hate flushed through her eyes at my words.

"They were the ones who killed my mother ."

’Ooh sad story’

Atleast she got her revenge.

"You’ll be going back with ."

She started to shake her head but then nodded after eting Luna’s eyes.

"What about the wyverns then ?"

She asked softly.

"Do they have to be near you for you to supplent them with souls?"

I asked curiously. She shook her head looking at in bewildernt.

"No, since I’m connected with them feeding them souls always happens through the link."

I chuckled at that. I had really stumbled upon a little treasure a naive one at that.

"That’s good, can you command them to spread around the duchy. Don’t worry I’ll provide for you as many souls as you need."

She nodded. A spell ford in front of her, and all wyverns sank into the ground, even the one I had chained. After a while, her breath started to get heavier, and she started to sway.

"All done."

She said between breaths. I was surprised yet again.

"Did you teleport them?"

I asked her curiously. Dark magic was beginning to fascinate even more.

"Yes, I know the duchy inside out since I spent most of my ti looking for dragon bones, but I couldn’t find them."

"Young master, I heard commotions, and I saw a large wyvern ."

Blair’s voice broke through the quiet evening. I turned around to see him and Donovan running towards us. Donovan had his sword drawn while Blair carried his usual dagger.

"Where is the necromancer?"

Donovan asked the mont he reached the courtyard. I pointed to the kneeling girl.

"I thought you said it was a man?"

He turned to blair who seed equally confused.

"But didn’t he have a heavy voice? I didn’t look at her much after that since she rejected after the introduction."

"Let’s go back to the town. I don’t want the night to catch in this village, and Blair, find an extra room in the inn. I want to welco our dear necromancer before we head to the capital. "

The journey back was uneventful and we arrived at the guild just as the sun was setting. The guild master got out of the building the mont our carriage pulled over.

Blair went and talked to him before he ca to my window.

"The guildmaster has prepared a place for us to stay."

Blair said his eyes filled with inquiries. We had planned on just staying in an inn but a separate house would be even better.

"Send him my thanks."

Blair nodded and walked back to the guild master. He handed him a crate of strengthening and healing potions, which caused the guildmaster to laugh out loud. He turned towards and bowed.

Blair walked back to his carriage and got in. We started to move towards the northern part of the town. The slum like buildings and the sll started to disappear as we entered the much cleaner street. This was clearly the place where the rich and nobles lived.

Our carriage pulled in front of a small mansion, and we all alighted. The necromancer, Jeneviv, lagged behind us looking around nervously as we entered the house.

The mont I got inside, I noticed it was smaller than I had expected. The ceilings were low, the place reeked of old wood, and to make it worse, the rooms were so small that the only upside was that it had a basent.

"Can you help Luna set up the basent?"

I asked Donovan who plopped onto the chair the mont we were inside. He groaned loudly before following Luna to the basent.

I turned to Jeneviv, who was standing painfully awkwardly at the corner.

"You don’t really have to be afraid, no one is going to recognise that you are a necromancer unless you start popping out bones. How did you even move around collecting bones?"

I asked curiously. It was odd from her behaviour. Getting that many bones was just as impressive but what got confused was the number of wyverns she had found.

If it were two, it would have still been impressive, but getting that many was incredible.

"I travelled through the forest, so I didn’t et a lot of people. The only people I knew were from the village. "

I nodded. Footsteps echoed from downstairs before Donovan’s ssy hair appeared, followed by his bored face.

"We are done young master."

I nodded and walked to the small basent door on the wall in the hallway of the house. I turned to see Jeneviv had not followed.
