Zaratul was weak.

Zaratul was supposed to be weak.

As a re Level 20 Mage now, he was supposed to be easy to kill, he was supposed to be like any other Mage out there, he was supposed to die when surrounded by so many enemies, and yet... yet why was the world burning?

"ARGHHHHH...!"

"My leg, I can’t feel my legs!"

"MY HEAD, AHHHH...!"

BZZZT!

...

"HE’S BREATHING FIRE!!!"

"HOW CAN HE BREATH FIRE?! HE’S NOT A DRAGON!"

"STOP HIM, BLANKET HIM, BOX HIM IN!"

"KILL HIM!"

KABOOMMMM!

...

"CALL FOR REINFORCENTS!"

"HE’S TOO STRONG!"

"CALL...!"

BZZZT!

...

At so point, the night sky darkened and rain started drizzling.

Amid the drizzle, blood soaked the night atmosphere in a gory haze as Julian moved like a natural disaster and attacked like a flood overtaking an entire area of this city.

Soon enough, his enemies realized that he was no re Level 20 Mage.

This was a Level 20 Mage with the defense of a C Rank Awakened, the offense of a C Rank Awakened, and with even more qi than 90% of C Rank Awakened in the world.

This was an enigma, a deviation from the system.

With his emotions on unlock, overflowing like an unstoppable tide and influenced by his Infernal Qi Demonic bloodline trait, Julian’s qi was at its most aggressive and destructive.

Every skill, every spell, every attack hit with the force of a mountain and the sharpness of a blade, overpowering the Centaur soldiers and slaughtering them in an unhinged and unstoppable manner

With his Dragon Qi Core providing him an endless source of qi, he moved and attacked like a Tank, a single-man fortress.

And with Sin Catalyst working with his heightened emotions and bloodlust, his qi efficiency was at an all-ti high.

It was literally impossible for him to run out of qi in this battle, Julian simply kept on spamming skills everywhere he went.

Aether Bolt! ×1000!

Aether Threading!

Dragon Breath: Fire Blanket!

The world burned around him as Centaurs were slaughtered amid screams of fear, shock, horror, and despair.

In that mont, the City of Falaniondor realized the truth.

The truth that the greatest villain in the history of Gomorra was back and despite still being weak, sohow, inconceivably, he was far stronger, more ruthless, and deadlier than ever before in Zaratul’s recorded history.

Now, he was capable of hitting far above his level and slaughtering higher-ranked beings like the difference in Ranks ant nothing before his sheer power.

This was the Rebirth of a Villain.

This was Zaratul’s Return.

Julian fought and slaughtered Level 20 and Level 30 Centaur soldiers indiscriminately, leaving an ocean of blood and piled-up flesh in his wake even as while floating in the sky, Elena cleaned the periter around him.

With Lord Zaratul’s current extre emotions, having seen the way he treated Puck when she offered to help, Elena wisely decided not to ask as she quietly cleaned the periter of any B Rank Level 50 Centaur.

For so reason, she had a hunch that the current Lord Zaratul who rely had the level of a D Rank Awakened could actually kill a Level 50 B Rank Awakened but she didn’t want to take the risk.

She also prevented the Level 40 C Rank Commandants of the Falaniondor Army from getting close to him.

But eventually, Level 40 Awakened slipped past her net and found her way towards Lord Zaratul.

THUD... THUD...

Hearing the thunderous sound of powerful galloping hooves charging in his direction, Julian turned his head and looked, instinctively using the System Snooping Tool to confirm the Level and Rank of this Centaur.

This was a Level 43 C Rank Centaur soldier!

Yet, Julian showed no fear as he bent down and picked the Spear of one of his victim Centaur soldiers with his left hand.

Julian took a step forward, aid, then he threw the spear at the Centaur with his right hand.

BOOM!

The Spear cut through the air with inevitability, breaking the sound barrier almost instantaneously, but wielding a Spear himself, the powerful Centaur swatted the thrown Spear away like it was a toy.

But Julian never intended to kill him with that, it was just a decoy.

Psychological Invisibility!

Partial Invisibility!

Quick Step!

Before the Warrior Centaur soldier could realize what was happening, he already lost sight of the weakened Demon Lord.

For a mont, he even almost forgot that he was in a battle with a dangerous Demon Lord, but his keen senses as a C Rank Awakened enabled him to notice the sudden gust of wind and then he rembered.

Without hesitation, he twisted his waist and violently slashed with his Spear at the side.

BAM!

The air groaned in the wake of this Level 43 Centaur’s Spear slash, and it connected with Zaratul but this Centaur didn’t see blood.

He only heard a loud tallic ringing sound.

CLANG!

Sparks erupted from Julian’s thick golden Dragon scales as the Spear ca extrely close to cutting his skin open, but that small opening was all Julian needed as now face to face with the Demon, he simply opened his mouth, then...

Dragon Breath: Lance!

Instead of the previous AOE spreading orange flas from his mouth, this ti, a concentrated blast of white flas like plasma ca out of his mouth!

BOOM!

The thick concentrated fire breath instantly burned a hole through all the stacked defenses of the Level 43 C Rank Centaur, burning a hole through his massive Horse-like lower body!

The Centaur staggered and collapsed amid a shower of blood.

The mont he hit the ground, Julian leaned in with his sword and stabbed it into the exposed head of the Centaur.

DING!

~----~

[You have killed a Level 43 C Rank Centaur!]

[You have gained EXP...!]

~----~

Julian felt his body brimming with power, dopamine, and adrenaline.

’I want more!’

’I need more!’

He pounced on the nearest Centaur, continuing his slaughter.

After the first, more Level 40 Centaurs broke through Elena’s net as the battle intensified and within 10 minutes, Julian slaughtered 11 Level 40 Centaur soldiers, including hundreds of other Centaur police and civilians.

He left a whole cavalry of mutilated corpses in his wake.

And finally, the System lit up with a much anticipated notification.

DING!

~----~

[EXP to Level 23: 419,430,400/419,430,400]

[You have leveled up to Level 23!]

...

[EXP to Level 24: 838,860,800/838,860,800]

~----~

In that mont, reveling in the blood and slaughter, Julian finally truly realized an unwritten law of living in this world.

This world rewarded depravity, slaughter, and debauchery more than diplomacy. His problem and mistake was trying to be diplomatic in the first place.

In the world of Gomorra, people only respected and feared power.

And here, true power is forged through blood and slaughter.

To rise, kill.

To be feared, kill.

To protect, kill.

To be the best, slaughter.
