Chapter 7 Does Sister Xueyao Want a Share of My Family’s Wealth?

Aunt Chen had a keen sense of emotional intelligence. The mont Qi Lin comnted that Qi Xueyao slled nice, Aunt Chen tactfully excused herself.

Qi Xueyao sat down to eat, and Qi Lin followed, taking a seat right next to her. Seeing him sitting so close, Qi Xueyao felt a wave of disgust and imdiately turned her body away.

But a woman’s intuition is often uncannily sharp. Though she couldn’t see him, she could feel Qi Lin’s gaze fixed on her.

“Qi Lin, what exactly are you trying to do?”

Unable to endure it any longer, Qi Xueyao put down her chopsticks and turned to him.

“Nothing much, I just think Xueyao-jie is really beautiful.”

“Xueyao-jie, why don’t you be my girlfriend?”

Qi Lin’s tone remained playful and carefree, his words causing Qi Xueyao’s chest to rise and fall in anger.

“Qi Lin, do you even know what you’re saying? Even though we grew up in the sa village, I’ve always seen you as a little brother! I could never be your girlfriend.”

Her face flushed with anger and embarrassnt. Was Qi Lin genuinely hoping to make Qi Xueyao his girlfriend? Of course not.

What he truly wanted was to see her frustrated and helpless against his antics. And would Qi Xueyao ever consider being his girlfriend? The answer was also clear—no.

Qi Lin knew she had a university classmate with whom she was close, and they had already agreed that if the classmate succeeded in starting a business, Qi Xueyao would beco his girlfriend.

“Moral high ground isn’t going to work here, Xueyao-jie.”

“We’re just people who grew up in the sa village. In my eyes, you’re just a pretty woman—why shouldn’t I say these things?”

“Also, what do you an by seeing as a little brother? Don’t tell you’re planning to take a share of my family inheritance?”

Qi Lin was now utterly unshakable.

In the past, he might have been silenced and ashad by her words. But now, his thick-skinned attitude made him immune to her retorts. As a typical antagonist, starting off by antagonizing the main target might not be the wisest choice.

But didn’t forget—Qi Lin had just been reborn.

Not long ago, he had gone to Qi Xueyao’s mansion to borrow money, hoping to help his father through a financial crisis. To put it mildly, Qi Lin’s family had provided Qi Xueyao with imnse support.

She had lived in their ho for three years, eating and sleeping as she pleased, and they didn’t charge her a single penny. Whatever Qi Lin ate, she ate the sa. Fruits, drinks, snacks, and household items were all freely available to her.

But how had Qi Xueyao treated Qi Lin when he sought her help? By that ti, Qi Xueyao had already beco a wealthy entrepreneur worth billions. She was also married to her university classmate.

When Qi Lin arrived, as always, he greeted her and her husband politely. Her husband barely acknowledged him, giving him a glance before heading upstairs without a word. Before leaving, he shot Qi Xueyao a look, silently warning her not to help Qi Lin if he asked for anything.

“Xueyao-jie, you know how much my family supported you when you first started working. We’re in so trouble now. Could you…”

Before Qi Lin could finish, Qi Xueyao didn’t even offer him a seat, let alone tea or fruit. But with no other choice, he stood and pleaded with her.

“I know everything you’ve just said. Here’s what I can do—I’ll have my staff rent a 10-square-ter room for you. I’ll pay the rent for three years. If your family has nowhere to stay, you can move in now. Consider this repaying your family’s kindness.”

She glanced at Qi Lin indifferently, her tone cold. Her heartless words hit Qi Lin like a bucket of ice water on a scorching sumr day. A 10-square-ter room for a family of three? That was no different from living in a kennel.

Back then, Qi Xueyao had stayed in a spacious 30-square-ter room in the villa, living like a rich young lady. Despite all the care and support Qi Lin’s family had given her, this was how she chose to repay them?

At that mont, Qi Lin finally recalled sothing his father had once told him.

“Qi Lin, the only reason I let that girl stay in our villa was because of you. If it were just for her father’s sake, I wouldn’t have agreed. If you’re serious about her, you’d better win her over quickly.”

This was what his father had said when Qi Xueyao had first moved in.

“Qi Lin, I need so money for sothing urgent. Could you talk to your dad about lending it to ?”

One day, Qi Xueyao had asked Qi Lin to help her borrow money from his father. Soft-hearted as ever, Qi Lin agreed without hesitation.

When he told his father about it, the old man gave him a long, aningful look before speaking earnestly.

“That girl is very good at using people to get what she wants. I’ve already seen it clearly—she doesn’t like you. Even if you lend her money, you’re just fetching water with a bamboo basket—it’ll all be for nothing.

When people gain sothing, they inevitably lose sothing. You’ve chosen to be a carefree rich kid, but that’s exactly the kind of person she despises. Do you understand what I an?”

Qi Lin understood perfectly.

His father’s words left him disheartened. Still, back then, Qi Lin had a conscience and didn’t hold a grudge against Qi Xueyao. But when his father refused to lend her the money, Qi Xueyao began to harbor resentnt against their family—though she didn’t show it openly.

The saying ‘a favor as small as a cup of rice can lead to resentnt over a bucket of grain’ applied perfectly here.

Despite all the kindness Qi Lin’s family had shown her, she ended up resenting them over a single refusal. When Qi Lin’s family went bankrupt, she even took the opportunity to humiliate him.

How could Qi Lin, fresh from her scorn, still speak to her normally? All he could think about now was destroying her career and her happiness.

Morality? It had led to nothing but misery in his past life.

Now, morality could go to hell.
