602 The Original Part 2

Reign's laugh drifted through the air, soft and mocking.

"It's pathetic, how you actually believe that. Seems like your personality isn't the only downgrade—your IQ took a big hit too."

The giant hologram shifted, the faint crackle of static showing irritation.

Then, it steadied . His expression remained neutral, but his eyes showed determination. "I don't want to hear that from a monster like you."

"Monster?" Reign's grin widened, eyes glinting with amusent.

He'd figured it out. The one using his body couldn't be the system. Ra was too emotional, too human.

Which could only an one thing.

Sothing changed when he powered up. He felt it—the way his evil nature took over, the way his already fucked-up thoughts darkened even more.

He brushed it off as growth, maturity. Getting stronger ant becoming more detached, right?

But no. That was more than that. His personality did not evolve. It split in half. The madness that defined him, that 99% of unhinged chaos, was still his. He was still the original. And his angel body? Ra was the 1% that didn't belong. The sliver of sanity that should've been swallowed whole for him to reach perfection. Reign's grin twisted into a sneer.

"Ah... so that's what you are," he drawled. "The leftover scrap. The part I didn't need."

The hologram flickered, edges crackling like brittle glass. Ra's expression stayed even, but a muscle ticked in his jaw.

"Leftover...Scrap." The words burrowed in deep, lodging in places he tried to ignore.

He t Reign's gaze, wanting to retort those claims.

But a movent caught his eye. In the distance, slicing through the air, a woman appeared—flying straight toward his enemy.

"Anna?" Ra's chest tightened.

"Stop! Don't go near him! He's dangerous!" His voice cracked with urgency, but she didn't slow down.

Instead, she accelerated, crimson wings cleaving through the air. And when she reached him, she flung her arms wide and pulled him into a embrace.

"I missed you, Reign!" she shouted, voice filled with certainty. No hesitation or doubt at all. She recognized him. Just like that. Static crackled along the edges of the hologram as Ra's mind scrambled to make sense of what he was seeing.

"Anna!" Ra's voice cracked through the air, sharp and desperate. "What are you doing? I'm the real one! Get away from that thing—now! It's dangerous. It will kill you! Run!"

His eyes locked on her, pleading. But she didn't even turn her head.

She just held him tighter.

Reign could not control his laugher, the sound sharp and unrestrained.

"See?" He spread his arms, grinning like a child showing off a prize.

"Even this stupid girl is smart enough to recognize ."His eyes flicked to Ra, savoring the look of defeat on his other self.

His grin stretched wider. "Must hurt, huh?" His voice oozed mockery, each word ant to cut deep.

"You should've seen it coming. But no—you were too stubborn. Or maybe just too dumb to admit it." He laughed, low and cold.

"Did you really think soone like could just magically go from psycho to saint?"

Just as the emotional weight threatened to crush him, Anna turned to face him. Her eyes, once so full of love, now held only pity.

"He's the real one... You should just... accept it."

Her words hit harder than any attack. She had forgotten.

Forgotten the nights he stood watch while she slept, the comfort of his presence and kiss. Forgotten how he was the one to show her true love.

He gave her what the original never could: unwavering patience and care.

And yet, he couldn't feel angry.

The betrayal should've burned through him, hot and unforgiving. But there was nothing.

Just a hollow, familiar numbness, like static humming in the background of a conversation.

Why?

Because that feeling was nonexistent to begin with. Rage, resentnt, cruelty—those were Reign's emotions. The pieces left behind when Ra was carved out of a broken mind.

Unfortunately, sadness wasn't taken from him.

The urge to beg—to make her rember who he was, who they were—clawed at his chest.

But what would be the point? She didn't choose him.

She chose the one who never grew, never changed. The one who stayed exactly the sa from the start—reckless, sadistic, and full of himself.

"What do you plan to do?" Ra's voice cracked, low and unsteady, the sound of a man already defeated.

He knew his artifacts wouldn't withstand an all-out war against his other self. So he swallowed his pride and chose words instead.

"Is that it?" Reign's brow lifted, amusent fading into discontent. "Are you already giving up? Not even gonna fight for the position?"

"No, I can't defeat soone like you." Ra's voice cracked, any courage draining from his words.

"What a fucking clown," he sighed, long and disappointed, like a teacher let down by a failing student. "And here I thought you were supposed to be the sensible one."

"If it were , I'd be thinking of a way to win," he taunted, "I an, I just fought Satan, right? So chances are, I'm exhausted. Or maybe the fact that you're using divine energy ans your attacks would hit harder."

He spread his arms wide, daring Ra to move.

"There are countless ways to fight if you actually tried. So how about it?" His voice dipped into a low, hungry growl.

"Let's go all out. No holding back. Let's destroy each other until there's nothing left." his knuckles flexed, itching for a fight.

For the blood. For the chance to shatter his other self into oblivion.

"I won't give you that satisfaction." Ra responded.

Reign's arm fell to his side, shoulders slumping as a hollow sigh escaped him.

"What a boring person you are..." His voice dragged, slow and unimpressed, like the words themselves weren't worth the effort.

"Alright, then. I'll just destroy this place as paynt for wasting my ti."

The dark energy orb responded to his words, expanding, eager to destroy everything in sight.
