Life is like a delicate glass sculpture: one mont a breathtaking masterpiece, the next shattered into countless sharp fragnts, causing deep wounds.

This analogy sohow summarized Rachael’s story perfectly.

Her life was like molten glass from the mont of her birth, making her endure constant storms that tore at her soul.

Thankfully, after years of hardship, Adrian entered her life.

Whether it was coincidence or fate, the specifics mattered little.

What mattered was that, with Adrian by her side, Rachael’s life took a remarkable turn for the better.

Everything seed to fall into place, and the train of Rachael’s life was back on track.

The days grew brighter.

And then, on that fateful night following a delightful date, beneath a sky illuminated with fireworks after Adrian’s proposal, Rachael and Adrian united their hearts and beca one, not only in body but also in spirit.

Rachael’s misunderstandings of the "rape" also got cleared, removing the shadows of doubt that had haunted her for far too long.

The days following that night had been like blissful dreams co true for Rachael.

Even the nightmares caused by her awakening stopped coming to Rachael when she slept in Adrian’s arms, and she enjoyed the most peaceful nights of her life.

In the warmth of his embrace, Rachael felt whole again, as if all the broken fragnts of her existence had been seamlessly molded back together into a beautiful sculpture.

She was like a little wife, caring for him, being shy and tending to Adrian with tenderness during the day, and making passionate love with him all night.

But who could have known that the nightmares, erased in dreams, would resurface in reality?

No one!

It was as if happiness wasn’t Rachael’s destiny—the cruel hands of fate ca rcilessly, and they snatched away the peace that had enveloped her.

Shattering her glass sculpture like life into countless pieces.

Leaving behind sharp glass shards, causing her endless agony and pain.

…..

It all began on the morning of the present day.

Since dawn, a strange sinking feeling was nagging Rachael, though she has brushed it off as re illusion and went into the dungeon with Charlotte, unaware of the impending doom looming over her.

That was her biggest mistake—one she would soon co to regret.

Once inside the dungeon, the sinking feeling Rachael felt grew so strong that it made her realize sothing was undoubtedly wrong.

Sadly, before Rachael could discern the cause, her awakening reached a critical point, and her consciousness faded into darkness.

Everyone thought Rachael was unconscious, but in fact she was conscious all along.

Though her eyes remained closed, Rachael could perceive everything unfolding around her with acute awareness.

She listened to Charlotte’s and Adrian’s exchanges, felt their growing concern, and also detected the subtle shifts in the dungeon’s atmosphere.

Yet, trapped within her own body, she remained powerless to respond as her body underwent a mysterious tamorphosis.

However, when control eventually returned to Rachael, a tsunami of information suddenly flooded into her brain.

It was the information of the character she had awakened into—the Chaos Empress, a Chaos Creature who was once specifically dispatched to reincarnate into the Nexus World with the sole purpose of annihilating it.

Despite a lifeti spent in the darkness of Chaos, the Chaos Empress, who was still young at the ti, found herself srized by the beauty of the living world upon her arrival, which she saw for the first ti in her life—a world brimming with light and color.

Gradually, in an unexpected twist of fate, she fell in love with the world of living and ended up betraying her own kind in favor of humanity.

But her allegiance to humans ca at a staggering cost.

In the end, she t her demise at the hands of the very humans she sought to safeguard—burned to death by the sa humans she betrayed her own race to protect.

Even people dear to her fell victim to those sa humans’ endless malice.

As for why this happened, who were these precious people, and what was their relationship with the Chaos Empress?

Regrettably, Rachael didn’t know.

She seed to rember witnessing sothing related to those people in one of her nightmares, but she couldn’t point it out.

It was as if soone had deliberately erased that part of the story.

Nevertheless, the Chaos Empress’s death caused by humans didn’t matter to the Chaos Creatures.

To them, she remained a traitor!

Not to ntion, the punishnt for a traitor was annihilation of its body, along with eternal imprisonnt and torture of the soul until it withered away on its own.

This onslaught of information bombarded Rachael’s mind in an instant, catching her off-guard, threatening to overwhelm her consciousness, and making her feel like her head was about to explode.

"Rachael, calm down."

Even though Adrian’s voice helped her co back to her senses and his gentle touch, like a lifeline, grounded her consciousness in reality, it also made her realize how dangerous their situation was.

While she wasn’t awakened and everyone thought the Chaos Empress was dead, the situation was manageable.

But with her awakening and the erging presence of the Chaos Empress, Rachael knew it would certainly attract the hatred of the Chaos Creatures.

And although Supre Rules barred Chaos Creatures from directly descending on the world of living, it wasn’t a problem for them to send an extrely large army of Chaos Monsters.

Moreover, within the confines of the Dungeon, a sub-world separated from the main realm, the Chaos Creatures held even greater sway, which amplified the threat they posed.

This made Rachael, who just got her bearing back, instinctively look up at the sky, where she finally saw the omnious giant eye.

Ba-dump!

Ba-dump!

Rachael’s heart pounded in her chest like a wild beast, and a shiver ran down her spine as she realized her fear had co true.

"It’s here to kill ! Adrian, run! Leave here and run!"

Despite the overwhelming fear threatening to consu her, she scread out a warning to Adrian, her voice trembling with desperation.

"Run! Run! It will kill us all."

Even though she knew deep down it was futile, she couldn’t bear the thought of him falling into the danger she had unwittingly led him into.

"It will kill us all."

Her screams grew louder with fear, bordering on madness.

Smack!

Fortunately, Adrian’s tily slap jolted her back to reality.

"Run? Where to?! We are surrounded. Look for yourself!"

Through tear-blurred eyes, Rachael followed his gaze, and when she saw the sight of the encroaching army of monsters, like a storm covering the whole world, her blood turned cold.

"There’s no exit until we clear the Dungeon. Charlotte and the others are gone to deal with the boss and will return to support us soon. We must hold on until then."

"But there are so many monsters... They’re too strong. You will die with !"

Every instinct of hers urged Rachael to flee or send Adrian away.

Fighting was an option she didn’t even dare to think of, but her words faltered when Adrian declared his unwavering resolve to protect her at any cost.

"So what if I die protecting you?!"

"T-Then... let help."

"Shut up! One more word, and I won’t call you my wife ever again!"

In that mont, Rachael was both overwheld and stunned by the magnitude of Adrian’s love for her.

Knowing he loved her was one thing, but listening to him voluntarily sacrifice himself for her was so devastating that she was utterly speechless.

Besides, Rachael knew there were no lies in his words because he soon proved it as he picked her up suddenly on his back, and after running to the end of the Dungeon, when left with no choice, he fearlessly rushed towards the monster’s endless army.

One man versus an army of hundreds of thousands.

Rachael had only heard it in fairytales, but today she witnessed it with her own two eyes.

"I will not allow you to do any harm to my Rachael!"

Goosebumps appeared on her skin as she heard his declaration and saw how, with his unyielding determination and unbreakable spirit, he fought on against impossible odds.

In this day and age where parents betray their children for a few bucks and betrayal runs rampant, he put his life on the line for her, who was not even married to him officially, let alone connected by blood.

Whatever form of attack he encountered, he shielded her on his back and prevented even a single scrape from appearing on her skin in the middle of the mayhem and destruction.

His actions spoke volus about the depth of his love for her, which knew no bounds.

That mont, in him, Rachael saw not just a man, but her love, her husband, her other half—her life—willing to do anything to keep her safe.

But with each blow he endured and each drop of blood he shed, Rachael felt a piece of her soul shatter in agony.

He was strong—stronger than even exceeding her wildest imaginations—and that too when he awakened not even a month ago.

It made her realize how incredibly scary the potential Adrian had was and how bright his future was.

’But now, because of , because of …’

Rachael dared not even think about the rest.

The re thought of him sacrificing himself for her choked her, leaving her gasping for breath.

Her head, buried in his nape, refused to even lift up to look at his battered sight.

Not only because she was afraid to look at him, but also because the ocean of Chaos energy inside her wasn’t allowing her to do it.

It was the Chaos energy belonging to her character, Chaos Empress, and although it was not even a fraction of its forr glory, it stirred within her voraciously, tempting her to embrace its primal urges to taint everything, including Adrian’s life with Chaos.

—Just a little taste… It won’t hurt... much… Turn everything… into Chaos… It’s your… destiny... You... can’t… run…

Deep in the darkest corners of her mind, this voice whispered, urging her to give in to the insatiable hunger that gnawed at her very essence.

But Rachael knew all too well that to unleash the devastating power of this Chaos energy that lurked within her veins upon Adrian would be to condemn him to certain death.

It was an action that she wouldn’t do even if she died—a fate she could not bear to inflict upon the man she loved.

Yet as exhaustion threatened to consu them both,

"Guardian’s Sanctuary!"

Adrian cast a spell to take a breath from the endless attacks, and he used sothing to heal his injuries.

However, in that instant, Rachael sensed that the life energy inside him grew countless tis for so reason, causing a dizzying temptation that beckoned her closer with each beat of his heart.

And tragically, in a mont of weakness and exhaustion, as Rachael’s grip on reality wavered for a split second, she succumbed to the primal instincts of Chaos raging inside her.

Stab!

With a desperate lunge, she sank her fangs deep into Adrian’s flesh.

But her actions didn’t stop there; instead, in that split second, she also transferred the huge ocean of her Chaos energy into him instinctively.

It was a savage act born out of her instincts and desperation, but it made the Chaos consu Adrian’s body.

His body, which used to be full of life, fell to the ground as if lifeless. His eyes beca wide and empty, and the swirling darkness of Chaos made his golden pupils darker.

Subsequently, now devoid of the Chaos energy that had once clouded her consciousness, Rachael’s senses reeled back, and the horrific realization of her actions crashed over her like a tidal wave: that she had betrayed the man she loved in a futile attempt to satisfy her own primal desires.

"ADRIAN!!!!"

She let out a heartbreaking scream of grief and remorse.

"Co back to !"

Unfortunately, there was no response from him, only the incresing screams and roars of the army of Chaos monsters contantly banging on the protective barrier surrounding them.

Tears stread down her face, mingling with the dirt and blood that stained the ground beneath her.

The weight of guilt settled on her shoulders like a leaden cloak, threatening to crush her beneath its suffocating pressure.

"Please! Co back to !"

With trembling hands, she reached out to touch Adrian’s face, her fingers brushing against the writhing mass of Chaos like black and purple tentacles of wood that now covered half his face.

It was a sight that filled her with a deep sense of dread—a grim reminder of her actions that had brought him to the brink of death.

But even now, as she stared at his broken form, battered and bruised, which was now laying in front of her, still clinging to the fragile thread of existence, Rachael refused to give up hope.

"Please…"

She begged, her voice rising to a desperate plea.

"God, anyone, hear ! Bring him back to !"

She was ready to do anything to turn back the hands of ti and undo the pain she had caused. Anything to bring Adrian back to life.

Even if it ant sacrificing her own life.

Or even if it ant the annihilation of the world,

"I will do anything; I will sacrifice everything. I won’t give up! I won’t give up on you, Adrian!"

With each word, her voice beca fiercer, and a fla of determination ignited within her soul.

Rachael’s words echoed across the battlefield, and an unimaginable wave of Chaos energy that ca out of nowhere surged outward like a tsunami centered on her.

For a mont, even the army of Chaos monsters stopped in their tracks, stepping back involuntarily as if afraid of the terror that was about to rise.

"I’ll find a way to save you, no matter what it takes. I swear it on my life."

Every syllable of her solemn vow to rescue Adrian from the brink of death resonated from the depths of her being, infused with her essence and soul.

In that mont, as she pledged herself to him, her love and devotion to him shattered all barriers possible, stirring a flicker of sothing within the depths of Adrian’s consciousness.

In the darkness that threatened to consu him, a faint glimr of his awareness sparked to life, followed by the familiar chanical voice.
