Chapter 71: 3.11 Until He Dies

Rosemane’s eyes widened in shock. Imnse satisfaction filled Oliver, especially as the horse oga shrieked in disbelief. "F—Future bond?!"

"Yeah." The corner of Oliver’s mouth curled into a pompous smile and he leaned his head on Lu Yizhou’s chest in a spoilt manner. "I was just talking about it with Father Emperor. Oh? Could it be...you haven’t known about it yet that’s why you carelessly tried to approach my mate?" He emphasized on the last few words, making Rosemane’s face redden in sha and anger. Oliver knew that it was really unlike himself to spur Rosemane on, to exert dominance over another—he was used to not having anything he could call his own. He didn’t know where he got the courage to do this either but currently, the only thing in his mind was how to instill the fact into her head that Altair belonged to no one else but him.

He discreetly glanced at the close distance between them and felt sourness in his chest. Stupid Altair, what did he get so flirty for? He should have chased Rosemane away from the start!

"Altair is your mate?!" Rosemane stood up abruptly, her face twisted like she had a sudden stomachache. Turning to Lu Yizhou, she pressed for confirmation. "Is that true?!"

Oliver’s heart rose to his throat. W—Why was she so long-winded?! Did she like Altair so much that she couldn’t accept the truth? Damn it! He hadn’t talked to Altair yet and there was still no talk about becoming mates. Oliver’s arms tightened in nervousness as he waited for the Alpha’s answer. Would he deny it or...

A strong arm wrapped around his waist and pulled him closer. He’s so close that Oliver felt his chest vibrate when he spoke and it sent shivers down his spine. "It’s true."

Ba-thump! Oliver’s heart gave a leap. His eyelashes fluttered as he nuzzled his head on Lu Yizhou’s jaw, his long black tail wrapping around the man’s arm coyly, throat purring. The words reverberated in Oliver’s mind again and again and he was overwheld with so much happiness that he didn’t even pay Rosemane any heed as she stord away—whether she wanted to go complain to Father Emperor, Oliver couldn’t afford to care.

Oliver murmured in a quiet voice after making sure that they were finally alone. "I thought I would never see you again. I woke up and you’re nowhere to be found. I couldn’t find you..."

The silver-eyed Alpha glanced down at him and Oliver found that he couldn’t seem to guess what he was thinking about. He had always put on that kind of stoic, impassive face that gave nothing away, even during the heat of the monts when he was pleasuring himself. It made Oliver frustrated and provoked at the sa ti, he very much wanted to try making Altair show different kinds of expression.

"Are you angry?" The man asked.

"Uh-huh. I am, so what are you going to do?"

"What do you want

to do?" Lu Yizhou took the Oga off guard when he dipped his head low, the tip of his nose grazing against the side of the Oga’s neck, inhaling deeply.

Oliver caught the yelp that almost escaped his throat, his heartbeat went haywire. "W—W—What are you doing?!" Not that he complained but every single act the Alpha did wasn’t good to his heart! Oliver held his breath so as to let his beating heart not sound too loud lest Altair would realize how nervous he was. The Alpha’s hair tickled his skin and his spiral horns were just beside Oliver’s eyes. He couldn’t help but marvel at the exquisiteness of it. Yet his attention soon returned to Altair as he felt the Alpha press closer and took desperate gulps of air out of his skin. His movent was a bit exaggerated as if he had been holding his breath since just now...

Eh...? Oliver blinked. A faint guess flashed through his mind. "Were you really holding your breath in Rosemane’s presence just now?"

Lu Yizhou humd. "She slls weird. Like durian."

"Pfft—" The answer was so unexpected that Oliver burst out in a fit of laughter. "What did you say? Durian?! Hahahaha, if Rosemane knew that her pheromones sll like durian to you, how would she react I wonder? No, this is too funny!" He buried his face into Lu Yizhou’s shoulder and giggled unstoppably to the point where his body trembled and stomach cramped in pain. Lu Yizhou rubbed his back without a word and Oliver’s focus soon shifted to the touch; gentle and velvety, yet still managed to send electricity throughout his whole body. Once again, he was reminded that he was currently sitting on the Alpha’s laps, right on that...that part of his which was so enormous last ti...

Heat crept up Oliver’s cheeks and he suddenly got the urge to hide. Just the urge though. The desire to be closer to the Alpha defeated his embarrassnt and he snuggled closer instead, relishing on the other’s strong presence and warmth. This was the first ti Oliver felt like this; carefully treasured, cherished and he could be as spoiled as he wanted and Altair wouldn’t even complain. The strange notion suddenly erged in his mind, unknown where it ca from.

"You will really beco my mate?" He played with the button on Lu Yizhou’s sleeves, softly murmuring. He hoped he didn’t sound too nervous, or eager in this case. "Once you agree, there’s no backing out, you know?"

"I don’t have any intention to back out in the first place." Lu Yizhou answered in an even tone yet sohow Oliver could sense the sincerity and seriousness there.

Unable to resist, he reached out to hug Lu Yizhou’s neck tightly, at a loss of words on how to describe how content the Alpha made him feel. Did happiness taste like this? His chest was hot and painful as if needles were poking there, and he got the strong urge to cry. Was it like that? Oliver had no idea. He had always lived his life just for the sake of existing, he never even thought that one day he would et an Alpha whom he would like so much like this. It was illogical, they had only t twice for God’s sake! The ti wasn’t even enough for them to get to know each other and Oliver couldn’t even say for certain that he knew the other enough to entrust not only his heart but his entire life. So where did this strong emotion of love, yearning and trust co from?

"Are you crying?" Lu Yizhou tried to peek at Oliver’s face but the Oga promptly hid his face deeper, rendering him unable to see anything.

Oliver shook his head silently yet Lu Yizhou could feel the minute tremble of his shoulders and the liquid that seeped into the fabric on his shoulders. Just imagining Oliver’s life in the original plot was enough to make his heart ache. Caressing the Oga’s trembling back, Lu Yizhou tugged him closer and used his wings to block the chilling wind for him.

"What did the doctor say?" He changed the topic to divert Oliver’s mind from anything that made him cry.

"Hmm...?" The hum sounded slightly nasally but Lu Yizhou pretended not to hear.

He repeated his questions. "Your heat. You have gone to the royal doctor for an examination, right?"

Oliver stirred and pulled away, the corner of his eyes endearingly flushed. He pursed his lips and told the Alpha gingerly. "The doctor said that it’s still unstable."

"Why?" Lu Yizhou frowned.

Oliver enjoyed his concern very much as he continued with a sad expression. "Well, my health has always been fragile since birth." Peeking through his eyelashes, he added in a grumble. "And last ti, you didn’t mate with . My heat will be irregular from now on and the doctor said I need a lot of Alpha’s pheromones..." His cheeks reddened lightly, especially when Lu Yizhou raised a brow and asked,

"You need a lot of Alpha’s pheromones?"

Oliver harrumphed and turned his head away. "Well, the doctor said so!"

"Okay," he simply nodded.

The impassive reaction angered Oliver. Was he that dense or did he pretend not to realize what Oliver was hinting at?! He grabbed Lu Yizhou’s collar and threatened in a nacing tone. "That’s why you have to take responsibility!"

The corner of the Alpha’s sinfully sexy lips ticked upward into a barely imperceptible smile. He reached out to pat Oliver’s head to appease the sullen black kitty then his fingers trailed down to knead the tips of his reddened ears, sending shivers all over Oliver’s body. "Okay." His eyes softened. "I will beco your mate when your next heat arrives."

[666.]

[666: Yeah?]

[This world doesn’t have a ti limit, right?]

[666: Hmmm, 666 isn’t sure. The panel is still left blank. If it continues like this, it ans that you indeed don’t have a ti limit, Host.]

Lu Yizhou gazed at the beaming Oliver in front of him. [Then, I’d like to stay here until the day Oliver dies.]

He had had enough of always being the one who left first. This ti, Lu Yizhou wanted it to be the other way around.
