Chapter 696: I Won’t Die

Alas, it was useless for Zeke to be anxious. He would not be able to change anything as the stupid assassin had already consud the dicine. It was not like he could force him to spit it out again!

Moreover, he was only a kitten for the ti being. What right did this little animal, who was not supposed to have much intelligence to begin with, to voice his opinion?

At first, Zeke thought that being inside this body was quite good. He could go undercover without fearing that anyone would blow his cover. But now, he was not so certain anymore. Fuck, he really wanted to have a human body for two seconds so he could whack this man right on his head! What the hell was he thinking?! Had he gone stupid after having his revenge?! Did he not want to live anymore?!

All kinds of scenarios popped up in Zeke’s mind, one was wilder than the other. He was ready to see the assassin topple down in the next second with white froth forming on the corner of his lips, or directly collapse on the spot without a breath left in his body. Either way, there was no way a complication would not arise after he directly consud such a high dose like that. However, the accident he was waiting for never arrived. The assassin did not show any sign of crumbling, instead he looked more... at ease.

He carelessly swept a glance at Zeke who was running in circles around his feet, then asked lazily, "What are you so anxious for?" His voice had a hint of hoarseness from both the sickness and the prolonged disuse.

In a fit of anger, Zeke brandished his claws and swept a few red marks on the stupid assassin’s exposed leg. Hear yourself! Is that a question a human being should ask? If you hadn’t suddenly done sothing like this, would I have been so anxious?!

"Don’t worry," the corner of his lips tilted up. Rather than a smile, it looked more like a mocking sneer. "I won’t die and make you starve to death."

As much as Zeke hated to admit it, the assassin’s words had given him a sliver of relief. He was indeed afraid that this man would die, but definitely not because it would cause him to starve to death! When all was said and done, he could just go back to his original body and get it over with. But what about the assassin? When he imagined this man dying all alone in this shabby cabin, in such a desolate place where not even a glimpse of people could be seen nearby, his heart felt that little twinge of discomfort again.

He was just feeling bad, he told himself. That’s right, this must be because he was feeling sympathetic. The assassin had saved him from the brink of death. If Zeke rely stood by and watched him die, then he would not be able to shoulder his guilty conscience!

Now that he had cald down enough to think clearly, he was starting to feel awkward for having reacted so strongly. He could tell that the bottle of pills was only half full. It ant that this was not the first ti this man had attempted sothing like this. If he could still be alive after the first attempt, then nothing should happen the second ti too.

Zeke could finally let his tense, hanging heart settle in his chest. And then, he started to pay attention to the subtle curve on the assassin’s lips.

He had to admit, this man was really good-looking...

In fact, Zeke was not too bad himself. After all, his mother, Her Majesty the Queen, was once hailed as one of the most beautiful and elegant won in the Capital Planet. He and the Crown Prince had inherited their mother’s genes, making their faces look delicate and lovely. It was to the point that they would often be mistaken as a girl when they were small.

The Capital Planet had no shortage of attractive people and Zeke had already seen his fill. Nonetheless, there was just sothing about the assassin that made him stand out in Zeke’s eyes. It might be his unusual temperant, the savage chill in his silver orbs, or the ironic smile on his face that was filled with bitterness, Zeke found that he was unable to tear his gaze away from the assassin’s face. It was a pity that he had not gone to the entertainnt industry, otherwise Zeke was certain he would definitely be able to make a na for himself.

"Miw miw?" What kind of dicine are you taking just now? Is it good to take so many at once?

"Miw miw miw...!" Now that you have already gotten your revenge, why don’t you let loose a bit? You’re still so young. Don’t let yourself be trapped by hatred!

Again, the assassin could only cast the black kitten a speechless look. To have a little kitten lecture him with such a serious expression... it was such a marvelous experience. He really had no idea how he should react to this.

After waiting for a while, the effect of the sleeping dicine kicked in and he began to feel drowsy for real. Standing up, he went to heat up another bowl of milk, then placed it on the floor beside the bed.

"If you feel hungry, drink it," he told the kitten. "I am going to sleep for a while." After saying it, he felt quite ridiculous with himself. Why the hell was he conversing with a kitten? Was it because of the human-like expressions and actions it had shown? And that’s why he started to treat it like a human being? He shook his head, thinking that he must be slowly going crazy.

He then lay on the bed and closed his eyes. It did not take long for his breathing to turn deep and even.

As soon as Zeke was sure that the assassin had fallen asleep, he jumped up onto the bed, then used his front paws to cling to the bedside drawer and stared at the bottle of pills. Fortunately, the assassin had only placed it on top of the table. Zeke morized the sll and the appearance of the pills, then after a second deliberation, he curled himself up beside the assassin’s head and induced himself to sleep.

When he woke up again, Dr. Feng greeted him with obvious relief on his face. "Welco back, Your Highness. Congratulations for your first successful simulation. This ti, you took five hours and twenty three minutes." He helped Zeke to get down from the dical cabin and handed him a nutrient solution. Seeing that Zeke’s ntality was stable, he finally decided to ask, "How is it going?"

Instead of answering, Zeke fell into deep thought. He really could not keep the assassin’s face from his mind. If he did not get the answer now, he was going to go crazy out of curiosity! He lifted his head to address Dr. Feng. "There’s sothing I want to ask..." he described the general characteristics of the pills, then inquired in a solemn tone, "Do you happen to know what kind of dicine it is?"
