Chapter 518: 8.118 Why Should I?*
The victim this ti was a young girl. Her body showed signs of asphyxiation and there were clear finger bruises around her neck. It was unknown how long her body had been left on the hull until she was finally found by so wandering passengers. As of now, the family of the young girl was making a ruckus. They grabbed onto Captain Rong like the last straw and begged him to deliver justice.
Unfortunately, because they were currently on the ship, it was not possible to summon the police for investigation.
One thing for certain was... she had been killed brutally. Everyone was starting to get apprehensive by the series of murders which happened one after another.
Lu Yizhou absentmindedly followed the procedure that was the exact sa as yesterday. Instead, he was more interested in observing Captain Rong, this seemingly dependable man who would turn into a terrifying beast at night. If there was a chance, Lu Yizhou would like to get closer to him and see if he was really the ga’s final boss...
Today, the remaining number of guests had decreased to 402. Putting aside two of Lu Yizhou’s contributions as well as the young girl who was clearly killed in broad daylight, then there were only 28 werewolves who acted last night.
Lu Yizhou still had no clear idea how many werewolves there were on this ship. At first he had assud it was 50 but then Cyrus’ hypothesis said that it was less than that. However, it was clear that after finding that the consequences for abstaining was only diarrhea, more and more werewolves chose to abstain for a night.
In one glance, Lu Yizhou pinpointed a few sour-faced people who were obviously irritated by the event’s developnt. The corner of his lips curled into a sneer. No doubt they were werewolves who had no qualms of killing as long as they could clear the quest and get the reward.
But then, could it really be so easy? Would the consequences for not adhering to their role be only diarrhea?
Lu Yizhou felt like the world could not be so simple as to give such a ’kind’ punishnt. He was proven right soon. Amidst another round of heated argunt, the middle aged man — whom Ji Yan had been so sure was a werewolf — suddenly choked on his breath. He gasped for breath and then in front of everyone’s shocked gaze, coughed out a mouthful of blood.
Everyone was stunned.
Not only that, a few people in the dining hall similarly had a twisted look on their faces. So of them were quick to cover their mouth before they could vomit the blood out while the others were too late. Blood spilled out of their mouth, shocking the people who were seating around them.
The guest players’ eyes lit up. They already knew that abstaining werewolves would show a different reaction during the day and now’s their chance to counterattack!
Ji Yan was the first to jump out and declare, "I swear on my life that these people who have just vomited blood has sothing to do with the murders!"
Another woman, who had a thin presence, seconded him. "I agree! I will also swear on my life! Please, we have to deliver justice to the young girl and her family!"
With the two people’s lead, more and more guest players stood up to echo them. Together, they ford a united front to guide the public opinion.
The NPCs looked at each other with doubts in their eyes. Yesterday, so people had diarrhea and they could rule it out as a coincidence. Perhaps, they had eaten sothing bad which ssed with their stomach. But this... could a group of people really vomit blood at the sa ti?
Not only the guest NPCs, even Captain Rong’s face showed clear suspicion.
The werewolves’ faces abruptly changed. Not good! If this kept up, then it would be so easy to identify the werewolves hidden among NPCs! The ones who had completed the daily hunt diligently could not help but send a bitter glare to those who had abstained, especially the ones who did it twice in a row! Did they really think that the ga would be so kind as to give them an easy way out? In the end, the one who suffered the most would be the werewolves. There were too many pig teammates in their camp! How infuriating!
Lu Yizhou watched the proceeding in front of him with clear disinterest, boredom was written all over his face. He felt a familiar tug on his sleeves and bent down to offer his ear for Ellen.
"Don’t you want to help your teammates?" The man asked quietly.
Lu Yizhou rely raised a brow at that. Teammates? He had never considered these people as his teammates in the first place. There was no real friendship in this world, only mutual interest. As long as that interest changed, even the strongest bond would shatter like a fragile glass. Lu Yizhou had no doubt if those people were not tied by the sa goal, then the vicious werewolves would have killed the abstaining ones for dragging them down.
Now, he more or less understood why this ga was called ’The Nightmare Ga’. There was one thing the puppet Ailín said that he agreed wholeheartedly — the real darkness lay not in the ga, but within the human hearts.
To Ellen’s question, Lu Yizhou rely said with a mocking smile on his face, "Help? Why should I?"
Ellen’s eyes widened by a fraction, seemingly not expecting that kind of answer.
Lu Yizhou only realized how cold-blooded he sounded when the words escaped his lips. Thinking that he had frightened his lover, he cleared his throat and tried to salvage the situation. "...There’s nothing I can do to help them anyway. Rather than them, I’d rather focus on you."
Unfortunately, Ellen did not buy his sweet talk. His tone was grave when he said, "But if this goes on, then you will fail the ga."
...Like Lu Yizhou would care about that.
However, he faintly realized that sothing seed off with Ellen’s tone. With the mask covering his face, Lu Yizhou was unable to read anything from his inscrutable gaze alone. If Ellen wanted, he could really mask his emotions very well. He was waiting for Lu Yizhou’s answer, but what kind of answer he wanted, Lu Yizhou found himself at a loss.
He could tell what Ellen wanted to hear from him had sothing to do with the secret he was holding. However, Lu Yizhou had a hunch that if he said ’I will just lose then’, Ellen would not be happy. He opened his mouth to ask further when all of a sudden, there was a loud uproar coming from the front.
The seer who pretended to be werewolf had acted again. This ti, she fished out two solid videos and sacrificed two werewolves to save these pig teammates.
Alas, this ti the guests were not easily fooled anymore.
The voting proceeded as planned and in the end, adding on to the two werewolves whose fate was already nailed into the coffin, the guests voted to eliminate three of the abstaining werewolves, one of them was the middle aged man who cried that he had not killed anyone at all.
It was only day three and the werewolves camp already lost seven mbers.
The abstaining ones were pale and terrified. No doubt that tonight, they would definitely try to hunt. However, it was already too late. The guest players had already marked the ones who abstained today and yesterday. Even if they could escape unscathed today, the sa could not be applied tomorrow. Everyone in this ga was not stupid. Of course, the guests would take this advantage to purge the werewolves as much as possible!
The future was bleak for the werewolves camp. Like this, they could really lose in the end...
They had originally obtained a superior role so how could everything turn out like this?
Almost at the sa ti, every werewolf had the sa thought surfacing in their mind. The rule had stipulated that werewolves could only hunt one guest every night but there were no restrictions for them during the day.
There was no other choice. They had to start hunting during the dayti as well.
This ant only one thing: the open war was going to break out anyti soon.
