Chapter 201: 5.11 Tell Him

Over the next few days, Lu Yizhou spent the ti sketching the maps of the hospital inside his mind and gave special attention to routes where the intruders would co in from and also the shortest and quickest way he could get into his lover. Lu Yizhou had no idea whether to be thankful or get angry at Doctor Wyatt for placing Terra in such a secluded and hidden area. On one hand, it would keep the guide safer but on the other hand, there was no way Lu Yizhou could get there by waving it off as a re coincidence and the option to ask directly wasn’t plausible either.

He missed his lover badly and his restlessness wouldn’t calm down until he could confirm Terra’s safety with his own eyes.

Fortunately, his spirit guide — [It’s Monroe, Host. Not moron!!!] — often popped out without any notice and as if the two spirit animals had established so sort of connection, the black cat would always appear a few monts later. One thing Lu Yizhou noticed after days of observation was, the cat was particularly haughty and prideful, reminding him of a certain young master he used to serve. Whenever Monroe tried to get close, it would always be swatted away by a ruthless paw. Yet it was also very endearing; if Monroe didn’t pay attention to it for a few seconds, it would start to throw tantrums and pounce on the eagle, gnawing and biting on its horns only to ignore it afterwards after the cat had gotten Monroe’s full attention again. Lu Yizhou was amused to witness their back and forth interaction. Sohow, it gave him an insight on what kind of person his lover was in this world.

Lu Yizhou had no idea whether Terra himself noticed his existence but for starters, the spirit guide was an embodint of oneself and 666 had also confird that one could sense and know what their spirit guide was doing when they were out of sight so... there was no way Terra had no idea as to where the black cat had gone everyday, right? Was he waiting for Lu Yizhou to co to him? Or had he not been allowed to leave his room? The idea made Lu Yizhou even more jittery, he wished the enemy would attack soon so he could have the opportunity to find his lover.

Lu Yizhou beckoned to the cat which earned him a dirty look. If he didn’t retain the mory of the ti when the cat snuggled close to him, Lu Yizhou would have thought that the cat didn’t care about him. "Co here." He said softly.

Hesitant, the cat took deliberate and dainty steps across the floor, eyeing Lu Yizhou’s face and every shift of his expression. Lu Yizhou maintained the sa encouraging look, a hand stretched out in invitation. In the end, the cat couldn’t resist to butt its head to his palm, a bit stiff and awkward now that he was fully lucid. Lu Yizhou felt himself smiling. [Can Terra feel it if I touch his spirit guide like this?]

[666: Uhh...yes, he might be able to perceive the sensation albeit a little dull.]

[Alright.] Lu Yizhou carefully scooped the cat into his arms and let it snuggle against his chin. From the side, Monroe was hovering around them, chirping noisily. Lu Yizhou ignored it of course. "Aren’t you a good boy?" Lu Yizhou scratched the cat behind its ear and received a series of purrs in response. He chuckled and pressed a fleeting kiss on its head. "Wait for , okay? Just a few more days."

Later that night, Lu Yizhou felt a ghost of touch along his jaw that trailed to his cheek, his eyes and his hair. He gave a small, secret smile. A cool, comforting sensation washed over his chest, further pushing up the speed of his recovery.

He healed so fast that it shocked Doctor Wyatt himself. "This... is honestly quite amazing." He said one morning two days later. " Had I not been your personal doctor, I wouldn’t have believed that you have fallen from the fifth floor and also suffered from the severe trauma due to the bomb explosion. At this rate, you will be able to get discharged in a week. Good job, General Kai."

Lu Yizhou nodded. He was careful not to lead the topic to guides lest the doctor beca wary and tried to hide Terra away from him. "Thank you. Have you notified the President about my condition?"

"Honestly, no." Doctor Wyatt fixed him with a grudging look. "I believe that a patient needs not only to recover physically, but also ntally. Even though your body has almost recovered, I will not advise you to return so soon to your duty, General."

Doctor Wyatt was a responsible doctor who cared about his patients a lot, but in the end, the President still found out about Kai’s recovery. It ant either the President had spies in the hospital or soone from the doctor’s side had secretly been selling information to the other side. Both were plausible and Lu Yizhou started to see clearly the reason why Doctor Wyatt would be killed. The President must have known that he wouldn’t be able to get rid of Kai without Doctor Wyatt’s intervention. The guide was too responsible and honorable to leave his patient alone. It was also that trait of his that led him to shelter the villain despite knowing that the latter had gotten blood in his hands.

"You should tell him." Before Doctor Wyatt could protest, Lu Yizhou added. "I do wish to take a break from my duty, Doctor and moreover, what is more convincing than your words? If you tell the President that I still need more ti to recover, he might grant

longer vacation." Lu Yizhou would spare the spy from working too hard. He was giving information freely. Surely, this way he could force them to move faster, right?

Doctor Wyatt’s brows knitted. His gaze on Lu Yizhou was penetrating, dubious that the man was planning so other things. Unfortunately, Lu Yizhou’s mind barrier was flawless. There was no way he would allow soone other than his lover to probe his mind again. "Then I will hold you to your words, General. Please take a lot of rest and don’t exert yourself."

As soon as Doctor Wyatt left, Lu Yizhou pushed himself off the bed to do a set of exercises to keep himself fit. A hundred and fifty count for every set of push-ups, sit-ups and squats. He also did so weight lifting using the nightstand because the bed would be too noisy with all its creaking sounds. He was no longer Jingxue-Jun who had a huge reservoir of spiritual energy in his body, nor was he Altair or Raphael who had a natural advantage that ca with his body. This ti, he was rely a human, only equipped with heightened senses that gave him more inconvenience than not. After laying on the bed for a prolonged amount of ti, his bones had started to beco rusty. That was absolutely unacceptable.

As he worked off the sweat, Monroe and the black cat were snuggling together on the bed, watching him with boredom and interest respectively.

After he finished, he went to the bathroom for shower and took off the bandages around his right eye. Doctor Wyatt had offered to put a prosthetic eye into the empty socket and Lu Yizhou had agreed. He looked at himself in front of the mirror. The prosthetic looked very much real until it reflected off lights, then one would be able to differentiate it from his other working eye. The skin around his right eye, however, had been scarred due to the broken glass and burns. They had faded into black, thin lines that spread around his eye, not so conspicuous to the point of discomfort, but still unusual if one looked at him.

"Mroow." The black cat jumped up to the sink and watched him with a hint of concealed worry.

"It’s okay." Lu Yizhou chuckled and stroked its head down to its full body. "I can still fight like this."

Fortunately Lu Yizhou’s guess was right on mark, he didn’t need to wait for long. A day after Doctor Wyatt had relayed the news to the President, 666 shrieked into his ears deep into the night when everyone had sunk into a restful sleep.

[666: H—Host, Host, Host, they are coming!!!]

Lu Yizhou’s eyes snapped open, silvery eyes glowing amidst the dark, alert and sharp. He flung his blanket soundlessly and got up to slide on his gloves and shove his ears with plugs.

[Give

the knockout bomb.] In the next second, the item appeared in Lu Yizhou’s hand and he closed his palm around it. A cold smile descended upon his lips.

It’s ti for him to reunite with his lover.
